Development and Implementation of an Energy-Efficient Test Stand for Railway Car Bogies
The bogies of railway cars are important components of the rolling stock system. The test stand solution that we have developed and proposed is used for testing car bogies under load to inspect and highlight the features that ensure operational safety and energy efficiency. This article presents the development and manufacturing of a prototype test stand for railcar bogies, incorporating specific elements such as hydraulic pressure cylinders, force transducers, displacement transducers, a hydraulic pumping system, a data computation and processing system, as well as a control and command unit. The technical topic of developing the test stand is aimed at testing bogies under a controlled, variable and uniformly distributed load, closely simulating the operational conditions of railcar bogies. The accurate and complete determination of the bogie's parameters assures the railroad operator that they are safely interchangeable—Moreover, decreasing the time spent on testing tasks and increasing the testing process efficiency through process automation is leading to a cutback in energy consumption and better predictability of the time intervals required for the repair of railway cars. The prototype consists of three hydraulic pressure cylinders: a centrally located hydraulic cylinder exerting a maximum pressing force of 20 tons-force and two lateral hydraulic cylinders, each applying a maximum pressing force of 10 tons-force. The hydraulic cylinders operate independently from each other, also supporting asymmetric load distributions that recreate the operating conditions as faithfully as possible. The data processing system monitors the magnitudes of the forces and the displacement of the hydraulic cylinders for reporting the specific characteristics of the bogie. To ensure rapid response in the control of the testing process, a control logic unit was developed, entirely dedicated to the control of this technological process. The graphical user interface of the embedded computer system was designed in the LabVIEW programming environment.
Recuperative Braking Drawworks
Energy efficiency is a priority objective of the research strategy. Particularly, the energy efficiency of the drillingextraction equipment is an issue of high relevance, the decreasing of energy consumption in crude oil extraction being among the objectives of the research strategy in the oilfield equipment. The paper presents a constructive version for a representative high power drawworks part of an oil and gas drilling rig, with recuperative braking, powered by two asynchronous electric motors. By implementing this concept it is estimated that a significant part of domestic hot water consumption at rig location as well as the heating of the radiators belonging to the drilling rig barracks is recovered by the thermal energy produced by the drawworks braking system. The power saving is about 100 kW by recovering thermal energy produced by the two asynchronous electric motors of the high power drawworks.
Condiţia revistelor de cultură
Such a topic, The Condition of Culture Magazines, is not at all convenient. There have been quite heated debates in recent years about the number, usefulness and necessity of cultural magazines. Ion Simuţ said, in an article that provoked many reactions, that there are too many cultural magazines (in our investigation, Traian Ştef thinks that there are too few ...). What is the state of the culture magazines today, how does the Romanian magazine landscape appear, what is the relevance of the printed magazines, compared to the effervescence and the informational commotion of the online support, what is the status of the collaborators, how are they selected, how open are the magazines? to us compared to the authors who propose themselves, in a literary life sometimes boiling, sometimes very dull, how the independence of opinion of the magazines is manifested, in fact, better said, how much independence are the culture magazines from us and which would be the solutions for the more efficient dissemination of cultural magazines: these are the questions / dilemmas from which we started in conducting this survey, in which we sought to engage as many magazine editors, publishers, cultural magazine contributors or writers. The opinions of those who responded to our survey are distinguished by their diversity, honesty and sincerity.
Școala de la Brașov
Voi tenta și eu un răspuns la repezeală din dubla mea postură, de spectator (la-nceputul anilor ʼ90 ai secolului trecut) și de participant (de-atunci încoace) la ceea ce numim, la sugestia insistentă a lui Mircea Martin, Școala de la Brașov. Și o voi face începând tocmai cu, spre a folosi o formulă răsuflată, începutul, adică cu geneza Școlii, despre care am aflat din mărturiile celor care au pus-o la cale sau mai degrabă, cel puțin în primum movens-ul ei, au generat-o inițial, cel mai probabil nu tocmai perfect conștient și voluntar. Să spun aici că, mai în glumă, mai în serios, îndată după ce am pătruns în (pe-atunci doar) catedra (nu încă Facultatea de Litere) de limba și literatura română a Facultății de Științe a Universității Transilvania din Brașov, eu vorbeam din când în când, cu un cuvânt cu sensul politizat și vag ironic, de axa Târgu-Mureș-Brașov, sugerând că noi (cei de la Vatra: adică Al. E locul să menționez că această propoziție venea și pe fondul unei decepții a Profesorului față de instituția universitară clujeană, la ale cărei câteva manifestări am fost martor parțial implicat: mi-amintesc bine, profesorul Mircea Zaciu era nemulțumit, pe de-o parte, că instituția la care lucrase, o prețuise și iubise enorm nu-i dăduse, după căderea comunismului, un rol la nivelul la care se așteptase și că, pe de altă parte, aceasta nu se folosise cum trebuia de resursele mai tinere de calitate, de anumiți oameni, cum păream în ochii săi Al. Numele de Școală de la Brașov dat fenomenului literar și academic din acest oraș este invenția, ba nu – fiindcă el nu produce nimic pur convențional în acest domeniu și face totul în numele principiului suprem al adecvării – ci, ca-ntotdeuna, creația sa atent cumpănită, constând în actul de numire potrivită care face din el un fel de nomothet.
