The feasibility of electrostatic teaching material: Oriented to conceptual understanding
Conceptual understanding is one of the important things in physics learning. Many factors affected the conceptual understanding of students; one of them was the book. Based on the data from the implementation of a questionnaire on junior high school students, their learning resources (books, etc.) have not been able to help them understand many concepts of physics including the concepts of electrostatics.Some abstract concepts in physics make them more difficult to understand physics. This study aimed to develop electrostatic teaching material-oriented to conceptual understanding for junior high school students. We use the ADDIE model, i.e., analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The result of this study shows that the teaching material is feasible to use in learning based on the feedback from validators.
Annonacin promotes selective cancer cell death via NKA-dependent and SERCA-dependent pathways
In the healthcare sector, phytocompounds are known to be beneficial by contributing or alleviating a variety of diseases. Studies have demonstrated the progressive effects of phytocompounds on immune-related diseases and to exhibit anticancer effects. Graviola tree is an evergreen tree with its extracts (leafs and seeds) been reported having anticancer properties, but the precise target of action is not clear. Using an in silico approach, we predicted that annonacin, an Acetogenin, the active agent found in Graviola leaf extract (GLE) to potentially act as a novel inhibitor of both sodium/potassium (NKA) and sarcoplasmic reticulum (SERCA) ATPase pumps. We were able to validate and confirm the in silico studies by showing that GLE inhibited NKA and SERCA activity in intact cells. In the present study, we also demonstrated the antiproliferative and anticancer effects of GLE in a variety of cancer cell lines with limited toxic effects on non-transformed cells. Moreover, our results revealed that known inhibitors of both NKA and SERCA pumps could also promote cell death in several cancer cell lines. In addition, a mouse xenograft cancer model showed GLE as able to reduce tumor size and progression. Finally, bioprofiling studies indicated a strong correlation between overexpression of both NKA and SERCA gene expression vs. survival rates. Overall, our results demonstrated that GLE can promote selective cancer cell death via inhibiting NKA and SERCA, and thus can be considered as a potential novel treatment for cancer. After molecular analysis of GLE by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and ESI-QTOF-MS analysis, it was found that the MS spectrum of the high abundant chromatographic peak purified sample highly consisted of annonacin.
Peculiarities of Psychological Competence Formation of University Teachers in Inclusive Educational Environment
The relevance of the issue covered in the paper is substantiated by the need to form secondary university teachers’ readiness and abilities to work with university students with limited health opportunities. The paper provides the research results and experience of psychological skills formation in university teachers as part of their professional competency in issues of inclusive education environment arrangement. The main research method is pedagogic experiment (stating, forming and control) aimed to reflect quality characteristics and dynamics of teachers’ psychological readiness to work in inclusive education environment. The paper suggests empirical data to determine factors that prevent humanistic relationships between the participants of educational process-teachers and university students. The paper proposes the program of teachers’ advanced training and retraining to develop appropriate psychological knowledge and emotional-volitional features for efficient professional activity in the context of inclusion. The materials in the paper are of scientific and practical value for future teachers’ training at higher education institutions, and for the system of teaching staff advanced training and retraining, as well.

Trans-, cis-, and dihydro-resveratrol: a comparative study
BackgroundRecent studies showed that moderate consumption of red or white wines increased the chances of breast cancer, while similar consumption of red wines, rich in trans-resveratrol (trans-R), decreased the rate of prostate cancer. This prompted us to explore the role of various forms of R in cancer proliferation.ResultsTrans-R was found to be the most potent antiproliferative agent. Cis-R demonstrated somewhat less potency compared to trans-R. Unlike cis-R and trans-R, dihydro-R exhibits moderate proliferative effect on androgen-independent prostate cancer cell lines PC-3 and DU-145 at picomolar concentrations. At higher concentrations, dihydro-R caused proliferation inhibition, similar to cis-R and trans-R. The proliferative effect of dihydro-R at low concentrations can be reversed by trans-R which acts as a partial antagonist in the presence of dihydro-R. Mixtures of dihydro-R and trans-R demonstrated complex non-monotonic cross-modulation activity patterns.ConclusionsDihydro-R exhibits proliferative effects in androgen-independent prostate cancer cells at picomolar and nanomolar concentrations. While the exact mechanism of these effects requires further evaluation, our preliminary results point to hormone receptor modulation activity. We also observed strong cross modulation between trans-R and dihydro-R at sub-picomolar concentrations. The role of dihydro-R in cancer proliferation related to moderate consumption of red wine remains an open question because dihydro-R has a very complex activity pattern in the presence of trans-R.
