Soundings : a contemporary score
\"Soundings\" investigates the ways in which some of the most innovative contemporary artists are working with sound today. These artists approach sound from a variety of disciplinary angles visual arts, architecture, performance, computer programming and music yet they share an interest in working with, rather than against or independent of, material realities.
Jenseits von Bühne und iPod. Beyond stage and iPod.
In an issue devoted to intercreativity in art, the author describes the possibilities offered by performing music in areas outside its traditional context and bringing it into closer contact with other art forms. She discusses installations by Florian Hecker (2010; illus.), Marina Rosenfeld ('Teenage Lontano'; 2008, col. illus.), Dan Graham and Tony Oursler ('Don't Trust Anyone Over Thirty'; 2004, col. illus.), and the Norwegian artists Goodiepal (2007; illus.) which illustrate the potential for craetive collaboration between musicians and visual artists.
