Cyberspace, Black-Hat Hacking and Economic Sustainability of Corporate Organizations in Cross-River State, Nigeria
Globally, e-commerce offers unlimited opportunities for corporate organizations to flourish as its customers reside in all parts of the universe. However, given the fluid nature of the cyberspace, black-hat hackers have enormously taken undue advantages of such mobility to perpetrate numerous financial frauds against individuals and corporate organizations. The impact of their attacks on the economic sustainability of corporate organizations is of obvious policy relevance, but little is empirically known about it. This study examined the role cyberspace plays in aiding the criminal activities of black-hat hackers and the impact of such malicious attacks on the economic sustainability of corporate organizations in Cross River State, Nigeria. An exploratory cross-sectional survey research design that allows the triangulation of quantitative and qualitative methods was adopted. Questionnaires were distributed to 1,074 respondents purposively selected from 18 financial institutions, 4 telecommunication network providers, and 2 manufacturing companies, while an in-depth interview was conducted on 13 participants across the selected corporate organizations. The presentation of data was done using frequency distribution tables, charts and relevant narratives. Chi-square was used to test the hypothesis, and content analyzing was adopted to analyze the qualitative data. The study found that corporate organizations with previous hacking experience are more likely to perceive black-hat hacking as affecting the productivity of their organization. The study, therefore, recommends that corporate organizations should strengthen their firewalls; educate their staff on the dangers of visiting unsafe websites, and downloading unverified attachments or clicking on links in unfamiliar emails.
EXPLORING INTRA-CITY TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM AS A CATALYST FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN CALABAR, NIGERIA
This research explores the role of intra-city transportation systems as a catalyst for sustainable tourism development in Calabar, Nigeria. Three key tourism sites, Aqua-vista Resort, Marina Resort, and Orange Resort were selected as indicators of tourism development. Data was collected using questionnaires. Findings reveal that mini buses, tricycles, and commercial buses serve as major drivers of sustainable tourism development. Improved accessibility to tourist attractions and enhanced tourist mobility were identified as significant impacts of these transportation systems. Furthermore, intra-city transportation boosts government revenue, creates employment opportunities, and stimulates business growth. Integration with tourism services and increased access to culinary and cultural experiences were also notable influences on tourist mobility. However, challenges such as high transportation costs and inefficient traffic management were identified. The study's hypothesis test shows a positive correlation between transportation systems and tourism development. This research underscores the importance of intra-city transportation development as a critical component for sustaining tourism growth and offers insights for stakeholders in tourism planning and management.

Women's Empowerment and the Well-Being of the Unemployed Women in Yakurr, Nigeria
Issues on women's deprivation, marginalization and empowerment are well documented in literature. The impact of women's empowerment on the well-being of unemployed women in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria, is yet to receive sufficient investigation from scholars. Thus, this study explores the relationship between women's empowerment and the well-being of the unemployed women, aged 18-45 years in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. It specifically examines the types and access to available women's empowerment programmes, the nature of empowerment programmes that women have benefitted from, as well as areas of positive impact in the context of socio-economic well-being. The study adopted an exploratory design using quantitative and qualitative data, obtained from 660 unemployed women recruited via multi-stage sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Chi square in testing the two hypotheses. Results indicate that 31.9% of respondents reported the provision of agricultural facilities as the most common women's empowerment programme, while 58.3% acknowledge that they have benefitted from any given women's empowerment programme. A total of 19.9% indicated that they have benefitted from micro-credit facilities, while 20.8% reveal that women's empowerment programmes have positively impacted their well-being. Findings further reveals a statistically significant relationship between education and the impact of women's empowerment programmes; and a statistically significant relationship between place of residence and the impact of women's empowerment programmes. Based on the findings, it was concluded that women's empowerment programmes have positively impacted the well-being of unemployed women in Yakurr, Nigeria. Thus, there is an urgent need for the Cross Rivers State Government to develop grassroot women's empowerment programmes that will enable these women to take advantage of available resources and to know that apart from non-governmental organisations and the government, women are endowed to actively help themselves and be drivers of their own destiny.
Work-Family Conflict and Stress: A Triangulated Analysis of the Plight of Working Mothers in Nigerian Universities
This study investigated the plight of working mothers of children under the age of 18 at the University of Nigeria within the context of work-family conflict, using data from a cross-sectional sample of 485 academic and non-academic staff selected through a multi-staged sampling technique. Data were obtained using questionnaires and seven IDI (in-depth interview) respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as percentages and frequency tables, while the Chi-square was used to examine the study variables. The results indicated that there is a statistically significant relationship between couples living together and the stress experience of working mothers with under-age children. The findings further show that there is a statistically significant relationship between the staff category of working mothers and the experience of stress. This underscored the recommendation that the government needs to review the working conditions of women and support workplace policies that allow flexibility and support for working mothers. Social workers are also recommended to be involved in some government and organization policies that will help to reduce work overload for working mothers.
