Mobile Learning with Mind tools Can Improve Problem Solving Skills in Learning for Autistic Children
This study aims to determine the effect of mobile learning with mind tools on the problem-solving abilities of autistic children in learning. This study uses qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The sample used is one student with special needs. Instruments and data collection were made in the form of questionnaires and tests. The results of the analysis show that problem solving skills in autistic children can increase the chances of identifying responses. In addition, mobile learning as a mind tool is very suitable for use for children with autism to improve problem solving skills. Autistic children have limitations in communication and social interaction, appropriate or supportive learning by using mobile learning because it supports the use of various learning applications that can be adapted to the characteristics of autistic children. This shows that the use of mobile learning with mind tools from the results of the analysis can improve the thinking skills of autistic children.
Potential of Curcumin to Reduce Serum Nuclear Factor-Kappa B (NF-kB) Levels After High-Intensity Exercise
The study aimed to analyze the effect of curcumin on serum NF-kB levels after high-intensity exercise. This experimental research uses a pre and post-control group design. Research subjects were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Following this, the subjects were divided into two groups: Group K1 with a placebo and Group K2 with a dose of 400 mg of curcumin. A total of 20 healthy men aged between 20-30 years participated in this study. On the first day, Data on the characteristics of the research subjects were collected. The subjects warmed up and did high-intensity training in squad exercises and leg presses with an intensity of 80-90% of maximum ability. The intensity of each research subject was determined using the one repetition maximum (1RM) test. 1RM is the maximum weight that can be lifted in one repetition of a movement. The exercise is performed in four sets of 10 repetitions with a recovery time of approximately 60 seconds between set. On the second day, 24 hours after high-intensity exercise, all subjects took blood samples (pre-test) and then were given intervention based on their respective groups. On the third day, 48 hours after high-intensity exercise, all subjects took blood samples (post-test). Blood samples were analyzed in the laboratory using the ELISA method with catalog numbers Human NF-kB ELISA kit E0690Hu. The results of this study reported that the group given curcumin after high-intensity exercise reduced serum NF-kB levels significantly (*p<0.05) compared to the placebo group. It can be concluded that the administration of curcumin at 400 mg after high-intensity exercise can reduce serum NF-kB levels. Reducing NF-kB levels is believed to lessen pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-a and is closely related to muscle pain after exercise. We recommend using curcumin as a natural ingredient that can potentially reduce NF-kB. In future research, we strongly recommend examining other inflammatory biomarkers, such as TNF-a and Interleukin. Keywords: Curcumin, Inflammation, Cytokines, Exercise, Health
Anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of watermelon (Citrullus Lanatus) have the potential to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation after exercise/physical activity: Systematic Review
This study aims to analyze and highlight the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of watermelon (Citrullus Lanatus) have the potential to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation after exercise/physical activity: Systematic Review. This research uses a systematic review method by searching various journal databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and Pubmed. Inclusion criteria in this study were articles published within the last 5 years and articles discussing watermelon, inflammation, oxidative stress, and physical exercise. The exclusion criteria in this study were articles published in non-reputable journals. A total of 2010 articles from the Scopus, Web of Science Pubmed and Embase databases were identified. A total of 7 articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected and analyzed for this systematic review. For standard operations, this study follows the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) assessment. The results of this systematic review research report that the flavonoid content found in Citrullus lanatus has anti-oxidant properties which can reduce oxidative stress. Furthermore, the anti-inflammatory properties of watermelon can reduce uncontrolled inflammation due to physical activity and intense exercise. In this case, Citrullus lanatus works by inhibiting inflammation through NF-kB signaling and reducing inflammation by suppressing the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-a. Reducing inflammation can potentially reduce the intensity of muscle pain. We recommend that Citrullus lanatus be used in individuals to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation caused by physical activity and intense exercise. Furthermore, we highly recommend future research to examine the effects of watermelon on other oxidative stress biomarkers such as protein carbonyl, as well as other inflammatory biomarkers such as IL-10, IL-6, and CRP. How Mobile Learning as Mindtools Affects Decision-Making Ability in Autistic Children?
Mobile learning as mindtools for children with autism is flexible, independent of time and place. This study aims to determine how mobile learning as mindtools affects decision-making abilities in children with autism. This research is an experimental research aimed at students with special needs with limited subjects. Single Subject Research (SSR) was chosen as the research design which is also part of the experimental research. The analysis in this study uses descriptive analysis with graphs. The data are analyzed based on individual data obtained. In this study, four children with autism type Asperger syndrome were taken at the Extraordinary Junior High School (SMPLB) level as research subjects. The research subjects or the first participant from PKLK Insan Istimewa Magetan, the second participant from SLB Panca Bhakti Magetan, the third and fourth participants from SMPLB Insan Istimewa Panekan Magetan. The research data was collected using observation, questionnaire and test techniques to test the effect of mobile learning as mindtools on decision making skills in learning children with autism. The results showed that using the mobile learning model media can reduce the frequency of subject errors in working on decision-making questions. Thus the mobile learning model media can affect the decision-making ability of research subjects which is characterized by a reduced frequency of error behavior in workingondecision-making questions.
An Investigation of the Flipped Learning Method to Physical Education Classes in the University: Systematic Review
This study aims to provide a synthesis of available scientific articles on the use of FL as a promising methodology in university sports teaching through a systematic review. This research is a type of systematic review research using searches from various journal databases such as Science Direct, Pubmed and Web of Science. The inclusion criteria in this research are journals published in the last 5 years that discuss Flipped Learning, physical fitness and physical education. Furthermore, the exclusion criteria in this research are journals that are not reputable or indexed by Scopus and Web of Science. In the first stage, 1538 articles from the Science direct, Pubmed and web of science databases were identified. Next, in the second stage, 49 articles were screened based on the suitability of the title and abstract. In the third stage, 26 articles were ordered for further processing. At this stage we filter based on the complete suitability of the article. Then, in the final stage, 10 articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected and analyzed for this systematic observation. This systematic review study reports that the FL method combined with other new techniques in teaching sports in universities provides good results. In all aspects of learning such as cognitive, affective and motoric learning in several sports disciplines such as basketball, martial arts, gymnastics and dance, FL provides very positive results. Therefore, based on the results of this investigation, it is hoped that more research needs to be carried out on FL in connection with optimizing physical education teaching and of course realizing the higher goals of physical education, namely increasing students' levels of physical activity, knowledge and sports. techniques aimed at encouraging and growing participation. physical activity inside and outside the classroom and throughout their lifespan. The potential of polyphenol compounds in grapes to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation after exercise: systematic review
Introduction: Mechanical stress and inflammation contribute to exercise-induced muscle damage. Objective: This research analyzed the potential of polyphenolic compounds in grapes to prevent inflammation and lower oxidative stress after exercise. Methodology: This research employed a systematic review to guide the researchers in achieving the objectives. It involved a thorough search of global databases, such as Web of Science, Scopus, Embase, and Pubmed. The inclusion criteria were articles investigating grapes, inflammation, oxidative stress, and physical exercise published within the last five years. On the other hand, articles that were not reputable or indexed by these databases were excluded from the search. The initial search process generated 2947 articles. After undertaking several screening processes, 8 articles were finally selected and analyzed. Results: This research shows that the polyphenol content in grapes has antioxidant and inflammatory properties which can reduce levels of oxidative stress and inflammation. Discussion: The polyphenol content works by reducing ROS, MDA, and TBARS levels and increasing GSH levels. Furthermore, grapes also have anti-inflammatory properties that reduce uncontrolled inflammation as a result of intense exercise. In this case, grapes work by blocking several inflammatory pathways and decreasing inflammatory markers. In vivo studies also confirmed these anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits by stimulating eNOS gene expression and increasing CAT, SOD, and GPx4 levels. Conclusions: The polyphenol content in grapes can potentially reduce oxidative stress due to its antioxidant properties. Besides, the grapes have anti-inflammatory properties, which are responsible for lowering uncontrolled inflammation and alleviating muscle pain fierceness.
The Effectiveness of Pelvic Floor Muscle Training on Decreasing Urinary Incontinence in Pregnant or Postnatal Women: A Systematic Review
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of pelvic floor muscle training in preventing urinary incontinence in pregnant and postpartum women. The study employed a systematic review method by searching data from journal databases such as Pubmed, Science Direct, and Web of Science. The inclusion criteria in this study were articles published in the last five years (2019-2024) that discussed pregnant and postnatal women, pelvic floor muscle training, and urinary incontinence. Those articles must come from journals that used the official languages ​​of the United Nations, such as Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian, French, and Spanish. Meanwhile, the exclusion criteria in this study were those not indexed by Scopus and Web of Science. This study then identified 2387 articles from the Pubmed, Science Direct, and Web of Science databases. Among them, eight articles met the inclusion criteria and were selected and analyzed for this systematic observation. For standard operations, the study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) assessment. The results indicated that pelvic floor muscle training or Kegel exercise can help weak pelvic muscles due to uterine growth and hormonal changes during pregnancy become stronger. This is so, especially if it is carried out regularly during pregnancy to reduce postnatal urinary incontinence. This training or exercise is recommended for six weeks during pregnancy to increase the strength of the muscle tone of the blood vessel walls and pelvic floor muscles. Additionally, it can support ligament muscles in the pelvis so that it can prevent urinary incontinence. We highly recommend further research to analyze PMFT during the postpartum period which can prevent urinary incontinence even more.
