Application value of Ki67 and serum CA125 in the deep myometrial invasion of endometrial adenocarcinoma
Objective
To investigate the application value of Ki67 and serum CA125 in diagnosing the deep myometrial invasion of endometrial adenocarcinoma.
Methods
This study retrospectively analyzed 80 patients with endometrial adenocarcinoma, who underwent procedure from January 2018 to June 2021 at Senior Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, the Seventh Medical Center of PLA General Hospital assigned to the Fourth Medical Center. The general clinical data, serum CA125 and Ki67 levels were compared between the superficial muscular infiltration group and the deep myometrial invasion group. We investigated the application value of Ki67 and serum CA125 in diagnosing the deep myometrial invasion of endometrial adenocarcinoma by the ROC curve.
Results
80 patients were retrospectively analyzed, and 53 cases were superficial muscular infiltration, 27 cases were deep myometrial invasion. There was significant difference in age, tumor diameter, lymph node metastasis, Ki67, serum CA125, p53 status, serum CA125 and Ki67 levels between the two groups (
p
< 0.05). As high as 35% of Ki67 was the optimal cutoff value for predicting DMI in endometrial adenocarcinoma, and the area under ROC curve was 0.691, the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis were 88.9% and 56.6%. As high as 43.645 U/ml of serum CA125 was the optimal cutoff value for predicting DMI in endometrial adenocarcinoma, and the area under ROC curve was 0.668, the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis were 40.7% and 92.5%. After combined detection of both, the area under ROC curve was 0.719, and its sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis were 96.3% and 43.4%.
Conclusion
Serum CA125 and Ki67 may be used to evaluate DMI in patients with endometrial adenocarcinoma, and the diagnostic value of combination is higher, which provide reference for clinical treatment.

The predictive value of serum inflammatory markers for the severity of cervical lesions
2024
Objective
Exploring the predictive value of NLR, PLR, MLR, and SII for the severity of cervical cancer screening abnormalities in patients.
Methods
A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of 324 patients suspected of cervical lesions due to abnormal TCT and/or HPV in our hospital from January 2023 to December 2023, who underwent colposcopy. The pathological results of colposcopic biopsy confirmed that there were 140 cases of chronic cervicitis, which classified as the group without cervical lesions. The cervical lesion group included 184 cases, including 91 cases of LSIL, 71 cases of HSIL, and 22 cases of cervical cancer. Compared the differences in preoperative peripheral blood NLR, PLR, MLR, and SII among different groups of patients, and evaluated their predictive value for the severity of cervical lesions using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves.
Results
The levels of NLR, PLR, and SII in the group without cervical lesions were lower than those in the group with cervical lesions (
p
< 0.05), and there was no statistically significant difference in MLR (
p
> 0.05). The comparison of NLR among LSIL, HSIL, and cervical cancer groups showed statistically significant differences (
p
< 0.05), while PLR, MLR, and SII showed no statistically significant differences (
p
> 0.05). The AUC of peripheral blood NLR, PLR, and SII for predicting cervical lesions were 0.569, 0.582, and 0.572, respectively. The optimal cutoff values were 2.3,176.48, and 603.56. The sensitivity and specificity were 38.6% and 73.6%, 28.8% and 85.7%, 37.5% and 76.4%, respectively. At the same time, the joint testing of the three had the highest efficiency, with sensitivity of 69% and specificity of 45%.
Conclusion
Although the peripheral blood NLR, PLR, and SII of the cervical lesions patients were higher than those without cervical lesions in cervical cancer screening abnormal patients, the predictive ROC curve discrimination was low. Therefore, it is not recommended to use preoperative peripheral blood inflammatory markers as markers for cervical cancer screening abnormal patient diversion.

The predictive value of NLR, PLR and MLR in the differential diagnosis of benign uterine diseases and endometrial malignant tumors
2024
Objective
To explore the application of neutrophils to lymphocytes ratio (NLR), platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and monocyte to lymphocyte ratio (MLR) in the differential diagnosis of benign uterine diseases and endometrial malignant tumors.
Methods
80 patients with endometrial malignant tumor diagnosed in our hospital from January 2019 to December 2022 were selected as the study group, and 74 patients with benign uterine diseases confirmed by pathology in our hospital during the same period were randomly selected as the control group. The differences of NLR, PLR and MLR in the peripheral blood of patients in each group were compared, and the value of individual indicators in the diagnosis of endometrial malignant tumor was evaluated using the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve.
Results
In peripheral blood, the NLR, PLR and MLR value in patients with endometrial cancer (EC) were significantly higher than those in patients with benign uterine diseases (P < 0.05). The area under the curve (AUC) of NLR, PLR, MLR in peripheral blood were 0.777, 0. 675 and 0.698. The best cutoff values were 2.02, 132.06 and 0.166. The sensitivity and specificity were 62.5% and 79.7%, 62.5% and 63.5%, 81 3% and 47.3%. The combination of these three indicators can significantly improved the diagnostic efficiency in endometrial cancer (AUC = 0.780), and the sensitivity and specificity were 60% and 83.8%.
Conclusions
In peripheral blood, NLR, PLR and MLR have certain diagnostic value in the differential diagnosis of endometrial cancer. When NLR, PLR and MLR are elevated, we should be alert to the occurrence of endometrial malignant tumors, and the combined diagnostic efficiency is high.

Liquid biopsy in lung cancer: significance in diagnostics, prediction, and treatment monitoring
2022
Primary lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in China. Approximately 60% of lung cancer patients have distant metastasis at the initial diagnosis, so it is necessary to find new tumor markers for early diagnosis and individualized treatment. Tumor markers contribute to the early diagnosis of lung cancer and play important roles in early detection and treatment, as well as in precision medicine, efficacy monitoring, and prognosis prediction. The pathological diagnosis of lung cancer in small biopsy specimens determines whether there are tumor cells in the biopsy and tumor type. Because biopsy is traumatic and the compliance of patients with multiple biopsies is poor, liquid biopsy has become a hot research direction. Liquid biopsies are advantageous because they are nontraumatic, easy to obtain, reflect the overall state of the tumor, and allow for real-time monitoring. At present, liquid biopsies mainly include circulating tumor cells, circulating tumor DNA, exosomes, microRNA, circulating RNA, tumor platelets, and tumor endothelial cells. This review introduces the research progress and clinical application prospect of liquid biopsy technology for lung cancer.

Domestic trade plays a key role in China’s rapid economic progress. However, the increased domestic trade causes significant variations in carbon emission transfer among provinces. This study adopted the multi-region input-output (MRIO) model and social network analysis (SNA) to estimate the carbon emission transfer. Furthermore, the carbon emission transfer network characteristics among 30 provinces and 27 sectors were analyzed by using interprovincial input-output tables for 2007, 2010, and 2012. The results showed that (1) Large differences exist in carbon emission transfer flow and its network characteristics between provinces. (2) The three industrial sectors of metal smelting and pressing sector, power, heat production, and supply sector, petroleum processing, coking, and nuclear fuel processing sector have high carbon emission transfer and pose a strong influence on the carbon emission transfer network. (3) Provinces of the eastern region have a “bidirectional spillover” role, while those of the western region have a mediating role as an “agent.” Provinces of the central region have a “main inflow” role. Finally, useful policy implications and suggestions of this study are summarized.

Value analysis of preoperative peripheral blood LMR in predicting prognosis of serous papillary ovarian adenocarcinoma
2024
Objective
To analyze the predictive effect of preoperative peripheral blood leukocyte related inflammatory indicators on the prognosis of patients with serous papillary ovarian adenocarcinoma.
Methods
A retrospective analysis was conducted on the case data of 83 patients with ovarian cancer undergoing tumor cell reduction surgery admitted to our hospital from January 2017 to December 2020. Pathological findings confirmed serous papillary ovarian adenocarcinoma. Kaplan–Meier method was used to analyze the relationship between lymphocyte to monocyte ratio (LMR) and the patients survival prognosis. Analyzing factors affecting patient prognosis which using a multivariable Cox risk.
Results
The overall survival (OS) of the patients with serous papillary ovarian adenocarcinoma in high LMR group was higher than that in the low LMR group preoperative. The disease free survival (DFS) of ovarian adenocarcinoma patients in the high LMR group was higher than that in the low LMR group preoperative. That was the low LMR indicating a poor prognosis. Single factor analysis showed that age of onset was correlated with OS and DFS, and the body mass index (BMI) was only correlated with OS. Multivariable analysis showed that the age of onset (HR = 2.571, 95% CI 1.199–5.512, P = 0.015) and BMI (HR = 0.337, 95% CI 0.158–0.718, P = 0.005) were independent risk factors for OS.
Conclusions
Although the serous papillary ovarian adenocarcinoma patients with preoperative peripheral blood LMR reduction have poor prognosis, the correlation between LMR values and prognosis is not significant. Therefore, it is not recommended to use preoperative peripheral leukocyte related inflammatory indicators as prognostic markers for serous papillary ovarian adenocarcinoma.

Automated Detection of Tailing Impoundments in Multi-Sensor High-Resolution Satellite Images Through Advanced Deep Learning Architectures
2025
Accurate spatial mapping of Tailing Impoundments (TIs) is vital for environmental sustainability in mining ecosystems. While remote sensing enables large-scale monitoring, conventional methods relying on single-sensor data and traditional machine learning-based algorithm suffer from reduced accuracy in cluttered environments. This research proposes a deep learning framework leveraging multi-source high-resolution imagery to address these limitations. An upgraded You Only Look Once (YOLO) model is introduced, integrating three key innovations: a multi-scale feature aggregation layer, a lightweight hierarchical fusion mechanism, and a modified loss metric. These components enhance the model’s ability to capture spatial dependencies, optimize inference speed, and ensure stable training dynamics. A comprehensive dataset of TIs across varied terrains was constructed, expanded through affine transformations, spectral perturbations, and adversarial sample synthesis. Evaluations confirm the framework’s superior performance in complex scenarios, achieving higher precision and computational efficiency than state-of-the-art detectors.

Adrenomedullin alleviates the pyroptosis of Leydig cells by promoting autophagy via the ROS–AMPK–mTOR axis
Adrenomedullin (ADM) exerts anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects in Leydig cells. However, the role and mechanism of ADM in the pyroptosis of Leydig cells are poorly understood. This study first showed the protective effects of ADM on the pyroptosis and biological functions of Leydig cells exposed to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) by promoting autophagy. Primary rat Leydig cells were treated with various concentrations of LPS and ADM, together with or without N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) or 3-methyladenine (3-MA). Cell proliferation was detected through CCK-8 and BrdU incorporation assays, and ROS level was measured with the DCFDA assay. Real-time PCR, western blot, immunofluorescence, transmission electron microscopy, TUNEL and flow cytometry were performed to examine ADM’s effect on the pyroptosis, autophagy and steroidogenic enzymes of Leydig cells and AMPK/mTOR signalling. Like NAC, ADM dose-dependently reduced LPS-induced cytotoxicity and ROS overproduction. ADM also dose-dependently ameliorated LPS-induced pyroptosis by reversing the increased expression of NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, IL-1β, IL-18, GSDMD, caspase-3, caspase-7, TUNEL-positive and PI and active caspase-1 double-stained positive rate, DNA fragmentation and LDH concentration, which could be rescued via co-incubation with 3-MA. ADM dose-dependently increased autophagy in LPS-induced Leydig cells, as confirmed by the increased expression of LC3-I/II, Beclin-1 and ATG-5; decreased expression of p62 and autophagosomes formation; and increased LC3-II/LC3-I ratio. However, co-treatment with 3-MA evidently decreased autophagy. Furthermore, ADM dose-dependently rescued the expression of steroidogenic enzymes, including StAR, P450scc, 3β-HSD and CYP17, and testosterone production in LPS-induced Leydig cells. Like rapamycin, ADM dose-dependently enhanced AMPK phosphorylation but reduced mTOR phosphorylation in LPS-induced Leydig cells, which could be rescued via co-incubation with 3-MA. In addition, pyroptosis was further decreased, and autophagy was further promoted in LPS-induced Leydig cells upon co-treatment with ADM and rapamycin. ADM may protect the steroidogenic functions of Leydig cells against pyroptosis by activating autophagy via the ROS–AMPK–mTOR axis.

High Salinity Reduces Plant Growth and Photosynthetic Performance but Enhances Certain Nutritional Quality of C4 Halophyte Portulaca oleracea L. Grown Hydroponically Under LED Lighting
2021
Portulaca oleracea
L. (known as purslane) is one of the most nutritious leafy vegetables owing to its high content of antioxidants. In this study, all plants were grown indoors hydroponically with different NaCl salinities. Photosynthetic photo flux density (PPFD) at 200 μmol m

(12 h) was provided to all plants by LED with red:blue ratio of 2.2. Thirty days after transplanting, plants grown with100 mM NaCl had the highest productivity and the fastest leaf growth followed by those with 0, 200 and 300 mM NaCl. Grown with 300 mM NaCl, purslane had the lowest specific leaf area due to its highest leaf dry matter content and its lowest water content. All plants had similar values of leaf succulence except for those with 300 mM NaCl. Total chlorophyll and carotenoids contents were significantly higher in plants grown with 0 and 100 mM NaCl than with 200, and 300 mM NaCl. All plants had F

The highest concentrations of K, Ca, and Mg were found in purslane grown under 0 mM NaCl. Statistically, no significant differences in Fe concentrations were observed among all plants. However, salinity seems to increase Fe concentration. In conclusion, it is feasible to grow purslane under 100 mM NaCl as it is the most optimal condition to achieve higher productivity and better quality. However, the production of antioxidants may depend on not only salinity but also other growth conditions.

Prognostic value of triglyceride glucose index in population at high cardiovascular disease risk
2023
Background
Early identification of populations at high cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk and improvement of risk factors can significantly decrease the probability of CVD development and improve outcomes. Insulin resistance (IR) is a CVD risk factor. The triglyceride glucose (TyG) index is a simple and reliable index for evaluating IR. However, no clinical studies on the prognostic value of the TyG index in a high risk CVD population have been conducted. This study evaluated the relationship between the TyG index and prognosis in a high risk CVD population.
Methods
This study enrolled 35,455 participants aged 35–75 years who were at high CVD risk and visited selected health centers and community service centers between 2017 and 2021. Their general clinical characteristics and baseline blood biochemical indicators were recorded. The TyG index was calculated as ln[fasting triglyceride (mg/dl)× fasting blood glucose (mg/dl)/2]. The endpoints were all-cause death and cardiovascular death during follow-up. Cox proportional hazard models and restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis were used to evaluate the correlation between the TyG index and endpoints.
Results
In the overall study population, the mean age of all participants was 57.9 ± 9.6 years, 40.7% were male, and the mean TyG index was 8.9 ± 0.6. All participants were divided into two groups based on the results of the RCS analysis, with a cut-off value of 9.83. There were 551 all-cause deaths and 180 cardiovascular deaths during a median follow-up time of 3.4 years. In the multivariate Cox proportional hazard model, participants with a TyG index ≥ 9.83 had a higher risk of all-cause death (Hazard ratio [HR] 1.86, 95% Confdence intervals [CI] 1.37–2.51,
P
<0.001) and cardiovascular death (HR 2.41, 95%CI 1.47–3.96,
P
= 0.001) than those with a TyG index < 9.83. Subgroup analysis revealed that there was no interaction between the TyG index and variables in all subgroup analyses.
Conclusions
The high TyG index was associated with an increased risk of all-cause death and cardiovascular death in people at high risk of CVD. This finding demonstrates the value of the TyG index in the primary prevention of CVD.
