High-order harmonics enhancement in laser-induced plasma

The methods of enhancement of the strong high-order harmonics of femtosecond pulses in laser-induced plasma are demonstrated. It comprises the application of the four techniques allowing the enhancement of harmonics in different spectral ranges. Among them are the selection of targets for ablation to create the conditions for resonance enhancement of single harmonic, formation of the quasi-phase-matching of a spectrally tunable group of harmonics, application of the two-color pump of plasma, and the formation of nanoparticles-contained plasmas. The number of generated coherent XUV photons increased in the region of single resonantly enhanced harmonic (62 nm) and the shorter-wavelength region (30–50 nm). The above techniques of harmonics enhancement allowed a significant (up to 50 times) growth in a whole harmonic yield in the case of indium plasma. We discuss the reasons preventing the joint implementation of the four methods of harmonics enhancement in the same spectral region.

Modification of resonance-induced enhancement of high-order harmonics in the laser plasmas containing atoms and ions

The difference in harmonic intensity distribution during frequency up-conversion of 800 nm, 65 fs pulses in a few laser-induced plasmas (Li, Ge, Yb, and As) at variable concentrations of ions is demonstrated. At small fluencies of heating pulses that create laser-induced plasmas, the prevailing presence of neutrals leads to a gradual decrease in harmonic yield. The stronger laser ablation caused the appearance of the singly and doubly charged ions, which led to the enhancement of the single harmonic or small group of harmonics in the vicinity of the ionic transitions possessing large oscillator strengths. These resonance-enhanced harmonics become significantly larger than the neighboring harmonics. The peculiarities of this process are analyzed at different fluencies of the ablating pulses.

High-order harmonic generation in laser-induced low-density plasma: past and recent achievements

High-order harmonics generation (HHG) in laser-induced plasmas is an advanced method for creating coherent radiation sources in the extreme ultraviolet region for different purposes. We review previous developments and recent advancements of this approach aiming at the high-order nonlinear spectroscopy of materials for studying the fundamental processes in micro- and macro-systems and developing the effective sources of coherent short-wavelength radiation. We discuss the implementation of advanced methods for the studies of materials through the analysis of their properties using the unique method of nonlinear spectroscopy related to HHG of ultrashort laser pulses in laser-ablated samples. The topics considered in this review include the determination and formation of the conditions for efficient HHG in laser-induced plasmas on the surfaces of various solid materials. The development of new approaches in the determination of the atomic and optical characteristics of materials through the application of the advanced methods allowing the growth of high-order harmonic yield using clusters, quantum dots, and nanoparticles, extended plasmas, two- and three-color pumps, resonance enhancement of single harmonic in the vicinity of strong ionic transitions, application of quasi-phase-matching conditions, etc., are reviewed. Finally, we discuss the potential goals of laser-ablation-induced HHG spectroscopy.

يفصل الكتاب سيرة حياة والإنجازات التي حققها المغفور له الشيخ راشد بن حميد النعيمي الذي حكم عجمان بين الأعوام 1928 و1981. ويحتوي الكتاب حوالي / 100 / ألف كلمة و 300 / صورة فوتوغرافية وهو جهد بحثي عالمي اشتمل على الاطلاع عن كثب على محفوظات أوروبا وأمريكا الشمالية حيث اكتشف الباحثون مجموعة كبيرة من الصور التي لم تنشر من قبل إضافة إلى عدد لا يحصى من الوثائق الجديدة. وأجريت عشرات المقابلات مع الذين خدموا المغفور له الشيخ راشد وعملوا معه من أجل تقديم سجل شخصي للرجال الذين كانوا وراء الزعيم .. فيما يصور الكتاب نشأة المشيخة من خلال تتبعه لأصول عائلة النعيمي والتاريخ القديم لعجمان. وبرز في أواخر ستينيات القرن الماضي الشيخ راشد كمدافع قوي عن الاتحاد وكان أحد المؤيدين الأشداء للجهود التي كان يقودها المغفور له الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان \"رحمه الله\" والرامية إلى إنشاء اتحاد الإمارات العربية. ويستعرض الكتاب تطور عجمان منذ سبعينيات القرن الماضي ودور الشيخ راشد في وضع أسس الإمارة الحديثة ذات المستوى العالمي التي ظهرت اليوم ويتتبع الكتاب السنوات اللاحقة للشيخ راشد والنجاحات العديدة التي شهدتها عجمان في عهد خلفه صاحب السمو الشيخ حميد بن راشد النعيمي.

Neurodegenerative disorders are typically sporadic in nature in addition to usually influenced through an extensive range of environmental factors, lifestyle, and genetic elements. Latest observations have hypothesized that exposure of environmental factors may increase the prospective risk of Alzheimer’s diseases (AD). However, the role of environmental factors as a possible dangerous issue has extended importance concerned in AD pathology, although actual etiology of the disorder is still not yet clear. Thus, the aim of this review is to highlight the possible correlation between environmental factors and AD, based on the present literature view. Environmental risk factors might play an important role in decelerating or accelerating AD progression. Among well-known environmental risk factors, prolonged exposure to several heavy metals, for example, aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury; particulate air, and some pesticides as well as metal-containing nanoparticles have been participated to cause AD. These heavy metals have the capacity to enhance amyloid β (Aβ) peptide along with tau phosphorylation, initiating amyloid/senile plaques, as well as neurofibrillary tangle formation; therefore, neuronal cell death has been observed. Furthermore, particulate air, pesticides, and heavy metal exposure have been recommended to lead AD susceptibility and phenotypic diversity though epigenetic mechanisms. Therefore, this review deliberates recent findings detailing the mechanisms for a better understanding the relationship between AD and environmental risk factors along with their mechanisms of action on the brain functions.

يشكل كتاب \"حرب المئة عام على فلسطين : قصة الاستعمار الاستيطاني والمقاومة 1917-2017\" لمؤلفه المؤرخ الفلسطيني الأمريكي رشيد الخالدي، فرصة للمسائلة والمراجعة للواقع المعقد الذي آلت إليه القضية الفلسطينية في مختلف أبعاده وجوانبه بعد قرن من الحرب على الفلسطينيين انتهت باعتراف دونالد ترمب بالقدس عاصمة لإسرائيل قائلا : \"رفعنا القدس عن طاولة المفاوضات، ولا يجب علينا الحديث عنها بعد الآن\".يركز رشيد الخالدي في كتابه على ست نقاط تحول في الصراع على فلسطين. تبدأ هذه الأحداث الستة بوعد بلفور سنة 1917 الذي حدد مصير فلسطين، إلى حصار اسرائيل لغزة وحروبها المتكررة على أهل غزة في العقد الأول من القرن الحادي والعشرين. يسرد المؤلف \"قصة حرب المئة عام الأصلية\" بشكل جزئي من خلال تجارب فلسطينيين عاشوا تلك الحرب وينتمي كثير منهم إلى عائلته، الذين كانوا موجودين خلال بعض المراحل المذكورة. وقد أضاف ذكرياته الخاصة عن أحداث شهدها بنفسه وكذلك مواد \"وثائق\" امتلكها وبعض العائلات بالإضافة إلى شهود عيان متنوعين. وكان هدفه من كل ذلك السرد هو توضيح رؤيته التي يقول فيها : بأنه يجب رؤية هذا الصراع بشكل مختلف تماما عن أغلب الروايات السائدة ( ... ) التي رويت فيها قصة فلسطين في معظم ماكتب عنها.

There is no doubt that new technology has become one of the crucial parts of most people’s lives around the world. By and large, in this era, the Internet and the Internet of Things (IoT) have become the most indispensable parts of our lives. Recently, IoT technologies have been regarded as the most broadly used tools among other technologies. The tools and the facilities of IoT technologies within the marketplace are part of Industry 4.0. The marketplace is too regarded as a new area that can be used with IoT technologies. One of the main purposes of this paper is to highlight using IoT technologies in Industry 4.0, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is another feature revised. This paper focuses on the value of the IoT in the industrial domain in general; it reviews the IoT and focuses on its benefits and drawbacks, and presents some of the IoT applications, such as in transportation and healthcare. In addition, the trends and facts that are related to the IoT technologies on the marketplace are reviewed. Finally, the role of IoT in telemedicine and healthcare and the benefits of IoT technologies for COVID-19 are presented as well.
