RELAX/BUCK HILL
2017
Blues/ Relax/Old Folks/Little Bossa/Flamenco Sketches/Prancing/Milestones/ Sad Ones (TT 51:49) Buck Hill, the \"Waling Mailman,\" who played soprano and tenor saxophones and clarinet for over 60 years for Washington D.C. jazz lovers, died in March, 2017. The title track \"Relax\" finds the group oh so smooth, easily shuffling to a pretty composition that lets Hill, Ozment and Pieper solo, comfortable and moving slowly around the room. Many of Buck's recordings are still available - if you get a craving for some fine tenor saxophone jazz, give one a try.
