Metaphorical Conceptualization of Injurious and Injured Language in Herta Müller
Through an analysis of metaphors for language in Herta Müller's literary works, critical essays, and interviews, this study demonstrates how the concept of physical injury can be used to reason about language. The metaphorical conceptualization of injurious and injured language is associated by Müller with suffering and oppression. While injurious language can bring about the death of the human being, injury is conceptualized as a possible factor in the metaphorical death of language which leads to silence. The concrete concept of injury allows Müller to convey to the reader the dangers and limitations of art and communication.

Shopin features Serhiy Zhadan, an ordinary Ukrainian writer. He is a poet, prose stylist, interpreter, literary critic, public figure, and anarchist. Автор статті стверджуе, що в романі закладено проти- ставлення сучасно‘1 композиці'1 та постмодерністськоТ наративно'1 стратеги. 3 класично‘1 точки зору сучасно'1 літератури роман може бути інтерпретований як великий наратив спокутно'1 подорожі головного персонажа, який служить меті ознайомлення читача 3 недавнім минулим УкраТни, а також 3 и забутими та маргіналізованими мешканцями на кордоні простору і часу. Як твір постмодер- ністського мистецтва «Ворошиловград» розкривае лакуни в інтерпретаціТ культурно'1 пам’яті та критично переосмислюе загальноприйняте розуміння минулого, пам’яті та можливості інтеграцй украінського суспільства. Незважаючи на те, що сучасна композиція не спростовуеться в романі, постмодерністська наративна стратегія, найбільш ефектно передана через тропи пам’яті та ідентичності, порушуе структурну цілісність твору.
