Ludwig Borne published 'Briefe aus Paris,' a series of letters written between 1830-33, that detailed his belief that art was automatically political. The letters supported his position as a radical, politically active writer despite his belief that he was an observer in Paris, France, rather than a participant. Borne saw these letters as his documentation of the struggle for freedom, similar to efforts by Theodor Haecker's 1939-45 diary. Borne's letters inspired many other revolutionaries.
