FACET5 in the recruitment and managing process as regards production personnel – case study
The hereby article describes the study of two cases, the recruitment process as regards a newly created position and the decision concerning promotion to a managerial position. In both cases tool called Facet5 (used for measuring employees’ potential) was applied to support decisions connected with human resources. As far as the first case is concerned, the profile of an ideal candidate was established. Then the profiles of three candidates selected based on content were compared to the aforementioned profile of an ideal candidate. As regards the second case, the analysis of the strengths and weaknesses in the employee profile and comparing the benchmarks concerning the particular position confirmed the subjective assessments of the supervisors and contributed to making the right decision. The issues connected to the increasing significance of soft competences, talent management in organization and organizational culture in terms of employee effectiveness and corporate competitive were discussed as well. Analyzed situations indicate the potential value resulting from the usage of tools for researching employees’ potential.

ESG Strategy and Financial Aspects Using the Example of an Oil and Gas Midstream Company: The UNIMOT Group
The content of this article relates to the widely considered issue of ESG investing, which has both theoretical and practical dimensions. The objective of this article is to verify whether there is a correlation between the implementation of ESG strategies and financial data and indicators. The first part of the discussion highlights the essence of a socially responsible investment—a concept that postulates the consideration of social responsibility in the functioning of companies. At a further stage, an attempt is made to systematize the concepts of ESG investing, where three key aspects are highlighted, i.e., environmental, social, and corporate governance. The article also refers to the reporting non-financial data, which are indicated by SASB standards. An empirical study is conducted on the UNIMOT Group. In this respect, the adjustment of ESG strategy directions with disclosure topics defined within the oil and gas midstream sector is analyzed. Then, using the GRETL econometric package, the relationship between the selected financial data is verified for the periods analyzed, with particular emphasis on the year of implementation of the ESG strategy, i.e., 2021. The conclusions and directions for further research are presented in the final section of the article.
Phonological contrasts and gradient effects in ongoing lenition in the Spanish of Gran Canaria
This study explores ongoing lenition of postvocalic /p t k b d g/ in the Spanish of Gran Canaria. Duration, intensity and harmonics-to-noise ratio of 16,454 sounds produced by 44 native speakers were measured, with the latter phonetic parameter used for the first time to investigate lenition. The results show a path of gradual sound shortening and opening from voiceless stops to open approximants, as well as systematic use of six different variants depending on the underlying representation and phonological context: two types of [p t k], two types of [b d g] and two types of [β˕ ð˕ ɣ˕]. We interpret this as continuity lenition that leads to the flattening of the intensity contour and harmonicity of the target segment with respect to the flanking sounds. We argue that a phonological analysis of this process that accounts for its non-neutralising character requires the use of a scalar [aperture] feature.
Application of the Obstacle Vector Field Method for Trajectory Planning of a Planar Manipulator in Simulated Microgravity
Capture and removal of large space debris is needed to prevent the growth of the debris population in low Earth orbit. Capture of a non-cooperative object by a manipulator mounted on a chaser satellite requires collision-free trajectory of the manipulator. The obstacle vector field (OVF) method allows to solve the trajectory planning problem in difficult scenarios. The OVF method is based on a vector field that surrounds the obstacles and generates virtual forces that drive the manipulator around the obstacles. The original formulation of the OVF method allows to obtain the desired position of the gripper, but not the desired orientation. To perform the grasping manoeuvre, the gripper has to be positioned in a specific point and aligned with the grasping interface. In this paper, we propose a modification to the OVF method that allows to obtain the desired position and orientation of the gripper. Moreover, we investigate the practical applicability of the OVF method. The OVF method is demonstrated in experiments performed on a planar air-bearing microgravity simulator. The presented results prove that the OVF method can be applied for a real system operating in simulated microgravity conditions.
An Overview of Existing Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Histopathological Diagnostics of Leukemias: A Scoping Review
Artificial intelligence applications in histopathological diagnostics are rapidly expanding, with particular promise in complex hematological malignancies where diagnostic accuracy remains challenging and subjective. This study undertakes a scoping review to systematically map the extent of research on artificial intelligence applications in histopathological diagnostics of leukemias, examine geographic distribution and methodological approaches, and assess the current state of AI model performance and clinical readiness. A comprehensive search was conducted in the Scopus database covering publications from 2018 to 2025 (as of 12 July 2025), using five targeted search strategies combining AI, histopathology, and leukemia-related terms. Following a three-stage screening protocol, 418 publications were selected from an initial pool of over 75,000 records across multiple countries and research domains. The analysis revealed a marked increase in research output, peaking in 2024 with substantial contributions from India (26.3%), China (17.9%), USA (13.8%), and Saudi Arabia (11.1%). Among 43 documented datasets ranging from 80 to 42,386 images, studies predominantly utilized convolutional neural networks and deep learning approaches. AI models demonstrated high diagnostic accuracy, with 25 end-to-end models achieving an average accuracy of 97.72% compared to 96.34% for 20 classical machine learning approaches. Most studies focused on acute lymphoblastic leukemia detection and subtype classification using blood smear and bone marrow specimens. Despite promising diagnostic performance, significant gaps remain in clinical translation, standardization, and regulatory approval, with none of the reviewed AI systems currently FDA-approved for routine leukemia diagnostics. Future research should prioritize clinical validation studies, standardized datasets, and integration with existing diagnostic workflows to realize the potential of AI in hematopathological practice.
Who Is My Neighbor? Preparing Vocational Ministry Students at North Central University to Increase Their Cultural Competency
As American culture continues to morph, pastors face different complexities. The cultural climate in America today presents polarizing subject matter, manifested as societal pressures divide communities and impact families and churches. One of the main divisive issues is the topic of race and racism. To effectively minister to diverse people in American communities, current and future pastors must increase in cultural competency; unfortunately, many pastors do not know what steps to take to fulfill the quest. This project utilizes the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) to leverage a key learning opportunity for five current vocational ministry students at North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by guiding them toward increasing their cultural competency. The IDI assessment provides metrics that can pinpoint specific areas of growth, in addition to providing a baseline to measure current and future culturally competent growth. Students navigated eight sessions framed around the IDI’s Ten Key Intercultural Learning Opportunities. Results documented in chapter 4, ranging from increased self-awareness to catalytic events, provide a framework for current and future pastors desiring to increase their cultural competency. By utilizing the project’s tools, with an open heart and an awareness of the Holy Spirit, any current or future pastor could move toward more effective outreach to diverse populations in local communities.
The prevalence and distribution of Dirofilaria repens in dogs in the Mazovian Province of central-eastern Poland
The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence and distribution of canine dirofilariosis from different districts of the Mazovian Province in central-eastern Poland. 462 dogs aged from 1.5-14 years were examined for dirofilariosis. Blood samples were examined for the presence of microfilariae using the Knott method, as well as the method of Kingston and Morton, after centrifugation in haematocrit microtubes in order to determine the intensity of infection as the number of microfilariae in 60 microliters of blood. The species of microfilariae found were determined after staining on the basis of the morphological characters. Samples were also examined using Canine Heartworm Antigen Test Kit SNAP HTWM (IDEXX, USA) that allows the detection of circulating antigens of females of Dirofilaria immitis. The positive samples were examined using multiplex PCR assay for species confirmation. Microfilariae belonging to the species D. repens were found in the blood samples of dogs originating from the city of Warsaw and from 18 districts of Mazovian Province. The mean prevalence of that species observed in the province was 25.8%. The range of intensity counted with the number of microfilariae found in 60 microliters of blood amounted to between 1-150; median intensity 9 microfilariae. The highest prevalence, reaching 52.9% and the highest median intensity of infection reaching 28 microfilariae, was found in Radom district. The lowest prevalence, amounting to 4.2%, was registered in Grójec district; however, the lowest median intensity reaching 6 microfilariae was noted in Żyrardów district. The infected dogs had not been outside of Poland, which means that this is an autochthonous infection. Microfilariae and antigens of D. immitis were not found in any examined blood samples. Results of the presented study show that autochthonous dirofilariosis caused by nematodes D. repens commonly occurs in the area of the Mazovian Province.
