The Evolution of Solar Photovoltaic Systems
2009
When it comes to solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, there's a common misconception that this growing technology--and the products that accompany it--are simple to install, modify, and maintain by untrained personnel. In reality, it's quite the opposite. As this market continues to expand, there's actually a lack of qualified electricians and inspectors performing this type of work. How high should we - and can we - build?
2003
Storey heights are 3.25m in the lower levels, increasing to 3.86m in the upper levels and to 5.08m in the penthouses. These are achieved with flat slab floors 203mm thick spanning a maximum of 7.3m from perimeter columns to interior shear walls. Up to level 56, these shear walls are arranged in a giant H, while at higher levels two arms are truncated to leave a step profile (see Figure 2). At each of three plant floors, a storey-height concrete wall is located on the perimeter.
