Trade-induced structural change and the skill premium
2019
We study how international trade affects manufacturing employment and the relative wage of unskilled workers when goods and services are traded with different intensities. Manufacturing trade reduces manufacturing prices worldwide, which reduces manufacturing employment if manufactures and services are complements. International trade also raises real income, which reduces manufacturing employment if services are more income elastic than manufactures. Manufacturing production is unskilled-labor-intensive, so that these changes increase the skill premium. We incorporate these mechanisms in a quantitative trade model and show that reductions in trade costs had a negative impact on manufacturing employment and the relative wage of unskilled workers.

2020
Using the text from job ads, we introduce a new dataset to describe the evolution of work from 1950 to 2000. We show that the transformation of the US labor market away from routine cognitive and manual tasks and toward nonroutine interactive and analytic tasks has been larger than prior research has found, with a substantial fraction of total changes occurring within narrowly defined job titles. We provide narrative and systematic evidence on changes in task content within job titles and on the emergence and disappearance of individual job titles.

Removal of Dyes by Polymer-Enhanced Ultrafiltration: An Overview
2021
The current problem of contamination caused by colored industrial effluents has led to the development of different techniques to remove these species from water. One of them, polymer-enhanced ultrafiltration (PEUF), has been systematically studied in this mini review, in which research works from 1971 to date were found and analyzed. Dye retention rates of up to 99% were obtained in several cases. In addition, a brief discussion of different parameters, such as pH, interfering salts, type of polymer, dye concentration, and membrane type, and their influence in dye removal is presented. It was concluded from the above that these factors can be adapted depending on the pollutant to be remediated, in order to optimize the process. Finally, theoretical approaches have been used to understand the intermolecular interactions, and development of the studied technique. In this revision, it is possible to observe that molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulations, density functional theory calculations, and hybrid neural-genetic algorithms based on an evolutionary approach are the most usual approximations used for this purpose. Herein, there is a detailed discussion about what was carried out in order to contribute to the research development of this important science field.

This article deals with the effect of the Harmonic Mind Maps (HMM) in the comprehension of narrative texts of university students. To achieve this purpose, a quasi-experimental research was carried out within the quantitative approach. From a population of 1500 students belonging to the I Semester of university, a sample of 83 students was taken, and they were divided into two groups: one of control (43) and the other one experimental (40). For the collection of data, adaptations of the PISA Test, 2015 were used. After the application of the HMM, it is concluded that its use positively influences the comprehension of narrative texts.

Parkinson's disease (PD) presents a significant challenge in medical science, as current treatments are limited to symptom management and often carry significant side effects. Our study introduces an innovative approach to evaluate the effects of
overexpression mediated by CRISPRa in an
model of Parkinson's disease. The expression of
can have neuroprotective effects, being related to the modulation of neuroinflammation and pathways associated with cell survival, differentiation, and growth.
We have developed a targeted delivery system using a magnetite nanostructured vehicle for the efficient transport of genetic material. This system has resulted in a substantial increase, up to 200-fold) in
expression in an
model of Parkinson's disease using a mixed primary culture of astrocytes, neurons, and microglia.
The delivery system exhibits significant endosomal escape of more than 56%, crucial for the effective delivery and activation of the genetic material within cells. The increased
expression correlates with a notable reduction in MAO-B complex activity, reaching basal values of 14.8 μU/μg of protein, and a reduction in reactive oxygen species. Additionally, there is up to a 34.6% increase in cell viability in an
Parkinson's disease model treated with the neurotoxin MPTP. Our study shows that increasing
expression can remediate some of the cellular symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease in an
model of the disease using a novel nanostructured delivery system.

The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between educational technologies, social skills and decision making in university students of the Industrial Engineering School from a private university in Lima. This study was basic, its design was non-experimental and cross-sectional. The population was composed of 80 students. The survey was used as a technique and the questionnaire was used as its instrument. The questionnaire had Likert Scale questions. The results allowed determining that there is a significant relationship between educational technologies, social skills and decision making, with a significance lower than .05.

2025
The rise of social networks has reconfigured the processes of value creation and decision-making in companies that are transitioning towards circular economy (CE) models. This article presents an integrative review (2020–2025) and proposes a digital–circular marketing (MD-C) decision framework that connects engagement, authenticity, and trust metrics with business outcomes (brand equity, loyalty, and performance) and with environmental outcomes (waste reduction and product life extension). The findings show that (I) CE is transforming marketing theory by incorporating \"people, planet and benefits\" as stimuli of the mix, (II) credibility, authenticity and perceived sustainability in social content predict consumer behaviors, and (III) direct brand communication on green initiatives outperforms influencer-mediated communication in effectiveness when there is coherence between discourse and practice. Management implications and a research agenda are discussed. Statistical Analysis
2019
