Enhanced Degradation of Rhodamine B by Metallic Organic Frameworks Based on NH2-MIL-125(Ti) under Visible Light

Samples of the bimetallic-based NH2-MIL-125(Ti) at a ratio of Mn+/Ti4+ is 0.15 (Mn+: Ni2+, Co2+ and Fe3+) were first synthesized using the solvothermal method. Their fundamental properties were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectra, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), N2 adsorption–desorption measurements, and UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS). The as-acquired materials were used as high-efficiency heterogeneous photocatalysts to remove Rhodamine B (RhB) dye under visible light. The results verified that 82.4% of the RhB (3 × 10−5 M) was degraded within 120 min by 15% Fe/Ti−MOFs. Furthermore, in the purpose of degrading Rhodamine B (RhB), the rate constant for the 15% Fe/Ti-MOFs was found to be 2.6 times as fast as that of NH2-MIL-125(Ti). Moreover, the 15% Fe/Ti-MOFs photocatalysts remained stable after three consecutive cycles. The trapping test demonstrated that the major active species in the degradation of the RhB process were hydroxyl radicals (HO∙) and holes (h+).

The relationship between age and seroprevalence can be used to estimate the annual attack rate of an infectious disease. For pathogens with multiple serologically distinct strains, there is a need to describe composite exposure to an antigenically variable group of pathogens. In this study, we assay 24,402 general-population serum samples, collected in Vietnam between 2009 to 2015, for antibodies to eleven human influenza A strains. We report that a principal components decomposition of antibody titer data gives the first principal component as an appropriate surrogate for seroprevalence; this results in annual attack rate estimates of 25.6% (95% CI: 24.1% – 27.1%) for subtype H3 and 16.0% (95% CI: 14.7% – 17.3%) for subtype H1. The remaining principal components separate the strains by serological similarity and associate birth cohorts with their particular influenza histories. Our work shows that dimensionality reduction can be used on human antibody profiles to construct an age-seroprevalence relationship for antigenically variable pathogens.
Multi-strain pathogens, such as influenza, present challenges for interpretation of seroprevalence data as estimates may vary by strain. Here, the authors develop a method for estimating age-specific seroprevalence based on principal components analysis and apply it to influenza data from Vietnam.

Chloroaluminate Ionic Liquid Immobilized on Magnetic Nanoparticles as a Heterogeneous Lewis Acidic Catalyst for the Friedel–Crafts Sulfonylation of Aromatic Compounds

Chloroaluminate ionic liquid bound on magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4@O2Si[PrMIM]Cl·AlCl3) was prepared and used as a heterogenous Lewis acidic catalyst for the Friedel–Crafts sulfonylation of aromatic compounds with sulfonyl chlorides or p-toluenesulfonic anhydride. The catalyst’s stability, efficiency, easy recovery, and high recyclability without considerable loss of catalytic capability after four recycles were evidence of its advantages. Furthermore, the stoichiometry, wide substrate scope, short reaction time, high yield of sulfones, and solvent-free reaction condition also made this procedure practical, ecofriendly, and economical.

Purpose
This paper aims to examine the effects of gender and visit frequency as moderating variables on the relationships among destination perceived quality, tourist satisfaction and word-of-mouth (WOM).
Design/methodology/approach
This study incorporated several previous research models to propose a conceptual model that fully explains the relationships among destination perceived quality, tourist satisfaction, visit frequency and WOM. One important thing to consider is whether gender and visit frequency impact on the relationships among these factors. In addition, this study was able to generate measurement items for the dimensions by analyzing specific tourism conditions in Danang City and referring to the scales of these factors in previous studies. Quantitative research was conducted to test the scales of the research model and hypotheses through data collected from 303 domestic tourists.
Findings
Structural equation modeling and a multi-group analysis were used to test the hypotheses and the invariance of structural coefficients across groups. The results indicate that destination perceived quality has significant, positive and direct effect on tourist satisfaction; WOM is positively influenced by destination perceived quality and tourist satisfaction; and there is significant relationship between visit frequency and WOM. In particular, when exploring the impact of moderating variables such as gender and visit frequency, this study also found that the impacts of destination perceived quality on WOM are different between genders, and this impact is stronger for female rather than male tourists; and the effect of destination perceived quality on tourist satisfaction is stronger for the first visit than for later visits.
Research limitations/implications
This paper is limited in its ability to gather a larger sample to more generally represent the complete domestic market, as well as in its lack of a comparison of online versus offline WOM effects by gender.
Originality/value
This paper was conducted to have a better understanding of how tourist demographic characteristics such as gender and visit frequency are important contributors that influence the relationships among these three factors. This paper has important implications for marketers and managers of Danang, such as local tourism authorities, commercial association managers, hotel owners, restaurant owners and tour managers working to improve the quality of this destination, and thus better satisfying tourists and competing with other destinations.

Purpose
This study aims to examine the direct and indirect relationship between self-congruity and destination brand loyalty (DBL) based on the conceptual linkages of cognition, affect and conation. A multiple-step, multiple mediator model is investigated to explain the indirect effect of self-congruity on DBL through perceived destination quality (PDQ) and tourist satisfaction (TS). The moderating impact of visit frequency in these relationships is also proposed and empirically evaluated.
Design/methodology/approach
The conceptual model and research hypotheses were assessed by applying covariance-based structural equation modeling (SEM), mediating and multi-group analysis. An online survey was used to collect data from 347 domestic tourists visiting a destination in Vietnam.
Findings
The results support the link from self-congruity to PDQ, TS and then to DBL. Visit frequency was found to moderate the links between the research concepts.
Research limitations/implications
Future research would benefit from considering other self-congruity components (e.g. social self-congruity and ideal social self-congruity) and moderating variables (e.g. cultural distance). This would provide insights into the relationships between self-congruity and tourist behaviors and could be based on comparisons in different destinations to achieve more wide-ranging results.
Originality/value
The effect of self-congruity on DBL that evolves from linking self-congruity to PDQ and TS to increase DBL was examined within a tourism destination context. This study is valuable to destination managers as it provides suggestions to improve DBL.

Vinculación de la autocongruencia, la calidad percibida y la satisfacción con la lealtad a la marca en un destino turístico: El papel moderador de la frecuencia de visita
Resumen
Propósito
Este estudio tiene como objetivo examinar la relación directa e indirecta entre la autocongruencia y la lealtad a la marca del destino basado en los vínculos conceptuales de cognición, afecto y conación. Se investiga un modelo de múltiples pasos y múltiples mediadores para explicar el efecto indirecto de la autocongruencia en la lealtad a la marca del destino a través de la calidad percibida del destino y la satisfacción del turista. El impacto moderador de la frecuencia de visita en estas relaciones también se propone y evalúa empíricamente.
Diseño/metodología/enfoque
El modelo conceptual y las hipótesis de investigación se evaluaron a través de la aplicación de SEM basado en covarianza (CB-SEM), mediación y análisis multigrupo. Se utilizó una encuesta en línea para recopilar datos de 347 turistas nacionales que visitaban un destino en Vietnam.
Hallazgos
Los resultados respaldan el vínculo entre la autocongruencia y la calidad percibida del destino, la satisfacción del turista y luego a la lealtad a la marca del destino. Se encuentra que la frecuencia de visita modera los vínculos entre los conceptos de investigación.
Limitaciones/implicaciones de la investigación
Las investigaciones futuras se beneficiarían de considerar otros componentes de la autocongruencia (por ejemplo, la autocongruencia social y la autocongruencia social ideal) y otras variables moderadoras (por ejemplo, la distancia cultural) entre la relación de la autocongruencia y los comportamientos del turista basado en comparación en diferentes destinos para lograr resultados más amplios.

PurposeThis paper aims to examine the role of social media communication, tourist satisfaction and destination brand equity components in enhancing destination brand equity based on the Stimulus – Organism – Response (S-O-R) theory.Design/methodology/approachThe conceptual model and research hypotheses were assessed using covariance-based structural equation modeling (SEM). An online survey was used to collect data from 369 domestic tourists who had traveled to Danang and knew about content related to Danang generated by either DMOs or other users on social media.FindingsExcept for the effect of DMO-generated social media communication on tourist satisfaction and the impact of destination brand awareness on destination brand loyalty, the findings confirmed the sequential causal relationships between research concepts based on the S-O-R model.Research limitations/implicationsFuture research should explore the proposed model based on comparisons of different nationalities to better understand the impact of cultural factors.Practical implicationsDMOs should associate social media with their marketing strategies to enhance destination brand equity, using cutting-edge technologies to create content and update information in a significant way to make communications by DMOs more effective. The findings especially suggest that UGC plays a vital role in improving brand equity dimensions, so DMOs could exploit UGC to engage existing customers and build relationships with potential customers. This research provides guidance for DMOs to improve their brand equity based on social media.Originality/valueThis study has contributed to the destination marketing literature by applying the S-O-R theory to propose a pathway for effectively increasing destination brand equity and highlight the importance of social media communication as a driver to achieve a hierarchical relationship between destination brand equity components and tourist satisfaction from stimulus to organism (e.g. cognition to affect).

Chitosanase Production from the Liquid Fermentation of Squid Pens Waste by Paenibacillus elgii

Chitosanases play a significant part in the hydrolysis of chitosan to form chitooligosaccharides (COS) that possess diverse biological activities. This study aimed to enhance the productivity of Paenibacillus elgii TKU051 chitosanase by fermentation from chitinous fishery wastes. The ideal parameters for achieving maximum chitosanase activity were determined: a squid pens powder amount of 5.278% (w/v), an initial pH value of 8.93, an incubation temperature of 38 °C, and an incubation duration of 5.73 days. The resulting chitosanase activity of the culture medium was 2.023 U/mL. A chitosanase with a molecular weight of 25 kDa was isolated from the culture medium of P. elgii TKU051 and was biochemically characterized. Liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry analysis revealed that P. elgii TKU051 chitosanase exhibited a maximum amino acid identity of 43% with a chitosanase of Bacillus circulans belonging to the glycoside hydrolase (GH) family 46. P. elgii TKU051 chitosanase demonstrated optimal activity at pH 5.5 while displaying remarkable stability within the pH range of 5.0 to 9.0. The enzyme displayed maximum efficiency at 60 °C and demonstrated considerable stability at temperatures ≤40 °C. The presence of Mn2+ positively affected the activity of the enzyme, while the presence of Cu2+ had a negative effect. Thin-layer chromatography analysis demonstrated that P. elgii TKU051 chitosanase exhibited an endo-type cleavage pattern and hydrolyzed chitosan with 98% degree of deacetylation to yield (GlcN)2 and (GlcN)3. The enzymatic properties of P. elgii TKU051 chitosanase render it a promising candidate for application in the production of COS.

Background
To investigate the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the healthcare professionals (HCPs) including physicians and nurses regarding dengue transmission, diagnosis and clinical classification using the warning signs of World Health Organization (WHO) 2009 classification.
Results
Out of 471 respondents from three countries, 80.9% of physicians and 74% of nurses did not receive previous training regarding the dengue infection. The majority of respondents could identify the primary dengue vector (86%), while only a third of HCPs knew the biting time of dengue mosquitoes. Only half of our respondents knew about immunity induced by serotypes; Moreover, half of our participants could determine the diagnostic tests. On the other hand, about 90% of the respondents took responsibility for talking to the patients about preventive measures. Our respondents also showed wide variations in definition of warning signs listed in the WHO 2009 classification. Multivariate analysis linked the impact of different cofactors including prior training on dengue infection, type of profession, frequency of taking care of dengue patients and country on how HCPs defined these warning signs.
Conclusions
This study could declare the variation in employing the warning signs listed in the WHO 2009 classification. We have figured that most of the HCPs did not take prior training on the dengue viral infection; Also, we found gaps in the knowledge regarding various topics in dengue fever. This paper recommends the gathering of efforts to establish the proper knowledge of dengue infection and the warning signs listed by the WHO.

The Differences in Spillover Effects of International Monetary Policy on Southeast Asian Economies

The aim of this study is analyzing the spillovers of monetary policies from three nations including the US, Japan, and China to the Southeast Asian economies through macroeconomic linkages. By using BVAR model, the research results present distinct responses of economic growth, interest rate and inflation index in Southeast Asia to external shocks of interest rate according to specific characteristics. In particular, nations adopting pegged regime have stronger responses to the changing of the Fed rate and Japanese monetary policy while the opposite trend is found in volatility of Chinese interest rate. However, nations with higher trade openness might have more sensitive reaction to monetary policy of all three countries. On the other hand, the impact of international monetary policies on Southeast Asian countries is explained quite different between the group having higher capital openness and the other one. In general, the results are consistent with many previous studies as well as Mundell-Fleming’s impossibility triple theory.

Implications: The size of spillovers varies in every country, depending on factors such as the exchange rate system and the degree of financial integration. Limitations: The number of Southeast Asian countries analyzed is only 6 and the study period was limited to the period from 2009 to 2019 so that the suggested policy implications are only appropriate for this scope.
