Observation of spectral lines in the exceptional GRB 221009A

As the brightest gamma-ray burst ever observed, GRB 221009A provided a precious opportunity to explore spectral line features. In this article, we performed a comprehensive spectroscopy analysis of GRB 221009A jointly with GECAM-C and
Fermi
/GBM data to search for emission and absorption lines. For the first time we investigated the line feature throughout this GRB including the most bright part where many instruments suffered problems, and identified prominent emission lines in multiple time intervals. The central energy of the Gaussian emission line evolves from about 37 to 6 MeV, with a nearly constant ratio (about 10%) between the line width and central energy. Particularly, we find that both the central energy and the energy flux of the emission line evolve with time as a power law decay with power law index of −1 and −2, respectively. We suggest that the observed emission lines most likely origin from the blue-shifted electron positron pair annihilation 511 keV line. We find that a standard high latitude emission scenario cannot fully interpret the observation, thus we propose that the emission line comes from some dense clumps with electron positron pairs traveling together with the jet. In this scenario, we can use the emission line to directly, for the first time, measure the bulk Lorentz factor of the jet (Γ) and reveal its time evolution (i.e., Γ ∼
t
−1
) during the prompt emission. Interestingly, we find that the flux of the annihilation line in the co-moving frame keeps constant. These discoveries of the spectral line features shed new and important lights on the physics of GRB and relativistic jet.

The Peculiar Precursor of a Gamma-Ray Burst from a Binary Merger Involving a Magnetar

The milestone discovery of GW 170817-GRB 170817A-AT 2017gfo has shown that gravitational wave (GW) could be produced during the merger of neutron star-neutron star/black hole and that in electromagnetic (EM) wave a gamma-ray burst (GRB) and a kilonova (KN) are generated in sequence after the merger. Observationally, however, EM property before the merger phase is still unclear. Here we report a peculiar precursor in a KN-associated long-duration GRB 211211A, providing evidence of the EM before the merger. This precursor lasts \\(\\sim\\) 0.2 s, and the waiting time between the precursor and the main burst is \\(\\sim\\) 1 s, comparable to that between GW 170817 and GRB 170817A. The spectrum of the precursor could be well fit with a non-thermal cutoff power-law model instead of a blackbody. Especially, a \\(\\sim\\)22 Hz Quasi-Periodic Oscillation candidate (\\(\\sim 3\\sigma\\)) is detected in the precursor. These temporal and spectral properties indicate that this precursor is probably produced by a catastrophic flare accompanying with magnetoelastic or crustal oscillations of a magnetar in binary compact merger. The strong magnetic field of the magnetar can also account for the prolonged duration of GRB 211211A. However, it poses a challenge to reconcile the rather short lifetime of a magnetar with the rather long spiraling time of a binary neutron star system only by the GW radiation before merger.

The precursors of short and long Gamma Ray Bursts (SGRBs and LGRBs) can serve as probes of their progenitors, as well as shedding light on the physical processes of mergers or core-collapse supernovae. Some models predict the possible existence of Quasi-Periodically Oscillations (QPO) in the precursors of SGRBs. Although many previous studies have performed QPO search in the main emission of SGRBs and LGRBs, so far there was no systematic QPO search in their precursors. In this work, we perform a detailed QPO search in the precursors of SGRBs and LGRBs detected by Fermi/GBM from 2008 to 2019 using the power density spectrum (PDS) in frequency domain and Gaussian processes (GP) in time domain. We do not find any convinced QPO signal with significance above 3 \\(\\), possibly due to the low fluxes of precursors. Finally, the PDS continuum properties of both the precursors and main emissions are also studied for the first time, and no significant difference is found in the distributions of the PDS slope for precursors and main emissions in both SGRBs and LGRBs.

Background: Takayasu arteritis (TA) is a rare inflammatory arteriopathy of unknown etiology. The aim of this study was to investigate the genetic susceptibility to TA in a Chinese population. Methods: Four single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) those locate in the IL12B region (rs56167332), the MLX region (rs665268), the FCGR2A/FCGR3A locus (rsi0919543), and the HLA-B/M1CA locus (rs12524487), associated with TA in different population, were genotyped in 123 Chinese TA patients and 147 healthy controls from January 2013 to August 2014. A Chi-square test was used to test for genotype/allele frequencies variants. Results: Among the four SNPs, rs 10919543 was found to be significantly associated with TA in the studied population. The GG genotype of rs 10919543 at the FCGR2A/FCGR3A locus is a high risk factor (odds ratio [OR] = 6.532, 95% confidence interval [C1] = 2.402 - 17.763, P 〈 0.001 ) for TA. Among TA patients, the level of eosinophil granulocytes (Eos) in the peripheral blood was observed to be higher in the GG group of rs 10919543 (n = 23, Eos = 0. I 1 [0.08, 0.17] x 109/L) than the GA + AA group (n = 100, Eos = 0.08 [0.05, 0.13] 10/L, P = 0.028). No correlation between the genotypes of the other three SNPs and TA patients was observed. Conclusions: Our findings revealed unique genetic pattern in Chinese TA patients that may be partly responsible for the higher risk of TA in this population. FCGR2A/FCGR3A-related immune disorder might contribute to the etiology of TA.

Aim: The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between R219K, M883I, and R1587K variants of the ATP-binding cassette transporter subfamily A number 1 (ABCA1) gene and response to rosiglitazone treatment in newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods: A total of 105 diabetic patients with no history of antihyperglycemia medication were treated with rosiglitazone (4 or 8 mg daily) for 48 weeks. Three non-synonymous variants R219K, M883I, and R1587K, were genotyped in all patients. Results: Ninety-three patients completed the entire study. The R219K variant of ABCA1 had an effect on rosiglitazone response with the per-allele odds ratio of 2.04 for treatment failure (P〈0.05). The RR homozygotes had a better improvement in indicators of insulin sensitivity, as determined by a significantly greater decrease in the homeostasis model assessment index of insulin resistance (-2.39±0.46 vs -0.69±0.51, P〈0.05). No genotype- phenotype association was detected for M883I and R1587K. Conclusion: The R219K variant of ABCA1 was associated with the therapeutic effect of rosiglitazone. The RR homozygotes had a better response to rosiglitazone treatment in terms of insulin sensitivity improvement than minor K allele carriers. Neither the M883I nor R1587K variant of the ABCA1 gene was associated with rosiglitazone response.

The Qijiang historical town is a typical town of the settlement in central Sichuan, It's also the capital site of the ancient Qi country during the Spring and Autumn period. After thousands of years of evolution, it's still maintained a complete ancient space environment pattern now. The spatial form of historical town is simple and obvious, but the street space organization is in an orderly manner, yard surrounded close is flexible and ingenious, carrying an extremely rich intangible traditional culture and the historical heritage. Through to the summarizing and analyzing of the pace evolution characteristics of Qijiang historical towns, we can explore the historical landscape characteristics of the town and help to further study of the dependency relationship between material culture and intangible cultural in space environment. Especially to studying the formation and development of space of historical town and Qi Kingdom country. It's also can provide reference in protection and restoration of the historic, ecological and sustainable spatial forms of historical town .

Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the association of KCNJll E23K and ABCC8 exon 16-3T/C with the therapeutic effect of repaglinide in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods: A total of 100 Chinese patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes were treated with repaglinide for 24 weeks. Arginine stimulation tests were performed to evaluate beta cell function. Gene variations were detected with PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism. Responders were defined by a greater than 25% decrease in fasting plasma glucose or a greater than 20% decrease in hemoglobin A lc (HbAlc) values (or both) after the 24 week repaglinide treatment. Results: Both baseline HbAlc and the decrease of HbAlc were significantly higher in patients with E/K and K/K genotypes of the KCNJ11 E23K variant when compared with E/E homozygotes (P=0.0103 and 0.0221, respectively). The decrease in 2 h postprandial plasma glucose (2hPG) was significantly greater in E/K heterozygotes than E/E homozygotes (P=0.0367). There was a significant difference in the response rate to repaglinide treatment between the E and K alleles (68% vs 82%, P=0.0324). The changes in fasting insulin and the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance were significantly greater in patients with ABCC8 exon 16-3 C/C versus the T/C and T/T genotypes (P=0.0372 and 0.0274, respectively). Conclusion: The KCNJ11 E23K variant was associated with the therapeutic effect of repaglinide. In addition, The C/C homozygotes of the ABCC8 exonl6-3T/C variant responded better to repaglinide in insulin sensitivity than the T/C and T/T genotypes.
