Study on spatiotemporal distribution characteristics and driving factors of carbon emission in Anhui Province
Carbon emission is related to global ecological security, and economic development inevitably leads to an increase in carbon emission. In recent years, as a rapidly developing province in China's economy, Anhui Province has experienced significant differences in the spatiotemporal distribution of carbon emission in different regions due to differences in development foundation, urbanization level, population size, industrial structure, etc., providing representative empirical cases for research. Based on the carbon emission data of Anhui Province before the COVID-19, this study used exploratory spatial data analysis method and Geodetector to analyze the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics and drivers of carbon emission in Anhui Province. The study found that (1) the spatial differentiation and spatial correlation of carbon emission in Anhui Province are significant, At the beginning, it shows the characteristics of \"high north and low south\" and \"high west and low east\", and then the \"core–edge\" structure of carbon emission becomes obvious. Carbon emission hotspot areas increase and then decrease, mainly in Hefei, Fuyang and Chuzhou City, etc. The coldspot areas are mainly located in the southern and western mountainous areas, and the degree of aggregation is decreasing year by year. (3) The level of urbanization, economic development and population size are the main driving factors of the spatial variation of carbon emissions, while the industrial structure has the least influence. And most factors produce nonlinear enhancement when spatially superimposed with other factors. (4) The high value areas of economic development, population density, secondary industry structure, and energy intensity are all at high levels of carbon emission, and a combination of factors leads to the creation of high risk areas for carbon emission. The study provides a basis for reducing carbon emission in the next stage of Anhui Province, focusing on key carbon emission areas, and sustainable development.
Prevalence and socio-demographic correlates of psychological health problems in Chinese adolescents during the outbreak of COVID-19
Psychological health problems, especially emotional disorders, are common among adolescents. The epidemiology of emotional disorders is greatly influenced by stressful events. This study sought to assess the prevalence rate and socio-demographic correlates of depressive and anxiety symptoms among Chinese adolescents affected by the outbreak of COVID-19. We conducted a cross-sectional study among Chinese students aged 12–18 years during the COVID-19 epidemic period. An online survey was used to conduct rapid assessment. A total of 8079 participants were involved in the study. An online survey was used to collect demographic data, assess students’ awareness of COVID-19, and assess depressive and anxiety symptoms with the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) questionnaire, respectively. The prevalence of depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, and a combination of depressive and anxiety symptoms was 43.7%, 37.4%, and 31.3%, respectively, among Chinese high school students during the COVID-19 outbreak. Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that female gender was the higher risk factor for depressive and anxiety symptoms. In terms of grades, senior high school was a risk factor for depressive and anxiety symptoms; the higher the grade, the greater the prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms. Our findings show there is a high prevalence of psychological health problems among adolescents, which are negatively associated with the level of awareness of COVID-19. These findings suggest that the government needs to pay more attention to psychological health among adolescents while combating COVID-19.

Improved Genetic Algorithm to Solve the Scheduling Problem of College English Courses
In this paper, an improved genetic algorithm is designed to solve the above multiobjective optimization problem for the scheduling problem of college English courses. Firstly, a variable-length decimal coding scheme satisfying the same course that can be scheduled at different times, different classrooms, and different teaching weeks per week is proposed, which fully considers the flexibility of classrooms and time arrangements of the course and makes the scheduling problem more reasonable. Secondly, a problem-specific local search operator is designed to accelerate the convergence speed of the algorithm. Finally, under the framework of optimal individual retention, the selection operator, crossover operator, and variation operator are improved. It is experimentally demonstrated that the designed algorithm not only has a faster convergence speed but also improves the diversity of individuals to a certain extent to enhance the search space and jump out of the local optimum. Research shows that the improved genetic algorithm has improved average fitness value and time compared with traditional genetic algorithm. At the same time, the use of the largest fuzzy pattern algorithm effectively solves the conflict problem of college English lesson scheduling, thereby improving the solution of college English lesson scheduling. Through the research of this article, the management system of college English course scheduling has been made more intelligent, and the rational allocation of teaching resources and the completion of education and teaching plans have been improved.

Exploring language teacher identity development in a teacher professional learning programme
Despite the widely acknowledged significance of teacher identity development in language teachers’ classroom practices and professional learning, little research has explored language teacher identity construction in vocational education and training settings. This study attempts to fill the lacuna by exploring six English for general purposes teachers’ identities development through navigation of critical-oriented teaching within a three-month teacher professional learning programme at one Chinese higher vocational college. Data were collected from professional learning conversations, classroom observations, and reflective practices. Data analysis revealed that participants’ identities flowed on the continuum of authority, agency and vulnerability through navigation of critical-oriented teaching during the teacher professional learning programme. The complex interrelationships of language teacher identity, agency and emotion indicate a non-linear pattern of language teacher identity development, suggesting that it is profoundly mediated by and mediates participants’ emotions and their navigation of critical-oriented teaching. More work is needed to explore the development of language teacher identity through navigation of innovative pedagogical practices within teacher professional learning programmes in vocational education and training settings.
Triglyceride-glucose index predicts adverse cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes and acute coronary syndrome
Background The triglyceride-glucose index (TyG index) has been regarded as a reliable alternative marker of insulin resistance and an independent predictor of cardiovascular outcomes. Whether the TyG index predicts adverse cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes and acute coronary syndrome (ACS) remains uncertain. The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic value of the TyG index in patients with diabetes and ACS. Methods A total of 2531 consecutive patients with diabetes who underwent coronary angiography for ACS were enrolled in this study. Patients were divided into tertiles according to their TyG index. The primary outcomes included the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs), defined as all-cause death, non-fatal myocardial infarction and non-fatal stroke. The TyG index was calculated as the ln (fasting triglyceride level [mg/dL] × fasting glucose level [mg/dL]/2). Results The incidence of MACE increased with TyG index tertiles at a 3-year follow-up. The Kaplan–Meier curves showed significant differences in event-free survival rates among TyG index tertiles (P = 0.005). Multivariate Cox hazards regression analysis revealed that the TyG index was an independent predictor of MACE (95% CI 1.201–1.746; P < 0.001). The optimal TyG index cut-off for predicting MACE was 9.323 (sensitivity 46.0%; specificity 63.6%; area under the curve 0.560; P = 0.001). Furthermore, adding the TyG index to the prognostic model for MACE improved the C-statistic value (P = 0.010), the integrated discrimination improvement value (P = 0.001) and the net reclassification improvement value (P = 0.019). Conclusions The TyG index predicts future MACE in patients with diabetes and ACS independently of known cardiovascular risk factors, suggesting that the TyG index may be a useful marker for risk stratification and prognosis in patients with diabetes and ACS.
