Imbalanced Text Sentiment Classification Based on Multi-Channel BLTCN-BLSTM Self-Attention
With the continuous expansion of the field of natural language processing, researchers have found that there is a phenomenon of imbalanced data distribution in some practical problems, and the excellent performance of most methods is based on the assumption that the samples in the dataset are data balanced. Therefore, the imbalanced data classification problem has gradually become a problem that needs to be studied. Aiming at the sentiment information mining of an imbalanced short text review dataset, this paper proposed a fusion multi-channel BLTCN-BLSTM self-attention sentiment classification method. By building a multi-channel BLTCN-BLSTM self-attention network model, the sample after word embedding processing is used as the input of the multi-channel, and after fully extracting features, the self-attention mechanism is fused to strengthen the sentiment to further fully extract text features. At the same time, focus loss rebalancing and classifier enhancement are combined to realize text sentiment predictions. The experimental results show that the optimal F1 value is up to 0.893 on the Chnsenticorp-HPL-10,000 corpus. The comparison and ablation of experimental results, including accuracy, recall, and F1-measure, show that the proposed model can fully integrate the weight of emotional feature words. It effectively improves the sentiment classification performance of imbalanced short-text review data.
Study on the degradation mechanism of mechanical properties of red sandstone under static and dynamic loading after different high temperatures
To study the effect of high temperature on the mechanical properties of red sandstone, YNS600 electro-hydraulic servo universal testing machine and pneumatic separating Hopkinson press bar (SHPB) device were respectively used to conduct static and dynamic load loading tests on red sandstone after 500~1000 ℃ action, and X diffraction detection. The damage pattern and mechanical property index changes before and after high temperature action were compared, and the relationship between mineral composition, microstructure and mechanical parameters of the specimens and temperature was analyzed, and a theoretical model was constructed. With the increase of temperature, the peak strength and elastic modulus under static and dynamic loading decreased significantly, and compared with the static stress-strain curve, the dynamic stress-strain curve did not have an obvious compaction phase, and the mass loss rate, volume expansion rate, and longitudinal wave velocity attenuation rate increased above 600 ℃. Minerals such as zeolite and pyrite within the red sandstone specimen gradually reacted after high temperature. The theoretical model explains the degradation mechanism of the mechanical properties of red sandstone under the action of idealized high temperature. The research results can provide a reliable scientific basis for the assessment and prediction of rock engineering after high-temperature fire.
Linguistic features of AI mis/disinformation and the detection limits of LLMs
The persuasive capability of large language models (LLMs) in generating mis/disinformation is widely recognized, but the linguistic ambiguity of such content and inconsistent findings on LLM-based detection reveal unresolved risks in information governance. To address the lack of Chinese datasets, this study compiles two datasets of Chinese AI mis/disinformation generated by multi-lingual models involving deepfakes and cheapfakes. Through psycholinguistic and computational linguistic analyses, the quality modulation effects of eight language features (including sentiment, cognition, and personal concerns), along with toxicity scores and syntactic dependency distance differences, were discovered. Furthermore, key factors influencing zero-shot LLMs in comprehending and detecting AI mis/disinformation are examined. The results show that although implicit linguistic distinctions exist, the intrinsic detection capability of LLMs remains limited. Meanwhile, the quality modulation effects of AI mis/disinformation linguistic features may lead to the failure of AI mis/disinformation detectors. These findings highlight the major challenges of applying LLMs in information governance. LLMs struggle to reliably identify mis/disinformation content, raising concerns about information governance. This study presents two Chinese datasets of AI-generated mis/disinformation and uncovers key linguistic features affecting their quality and detection.
Multi-resonant three-port DC-DC converter with power decoupling under resonant parameter deviations
This article proposes a multi-resonant three-port DC-DC converter (MRTPC) that can achieve power decoupling in the presence of deviations in the parameters of the resonant elements. The MRTPC consists of a four-element resonant tank (FERT), a three-element resonant tank (TERT), and an LC resonant tank (LCRT). Due to the fact that the FERT can be configured with first and third resonant frequencies (RF), it can transmit the energy of the fundamental and third harmonic components. By reasonably setting the RFs of the FERT, TERT, and LCRT, decoupling control of primary and tertiary energy transmission can be achieved. Due to the characteristics of the FERT, TERT and LCRT at different frequencies, decoupling the transmission of the power of the primary and tertiary frequency components can be achieved even when there is a certain deviation in the parameters of the resonant elements of the FERT. This feature can effectively reduce the cost of selecting resonant elements. To improve the efficiency of the MRTPC, an optimized triple-phase-shift modulation strategy (OTPSMS) is proposed to minimize the root mean square value of the resonant current (RMSRC). For the nonlinear problem of minimizing the RMSRC, the KKT condition is used for the optimization solution. Finally, an experimental prototype with a power level of 1 kW is built to verify the theoretical correctness of the MRTPC and its OTPSMS.
Caprylic acid suppresses inflammation via TLR4/NF-κB signaling and improves atherosclerosis in ApoE-deficient mice
Background As reported previously by our group, medium-chain triglycerides can ameliorate atherosclerosis. Given that TLR4 is closely related to atherosclerosis, we hypothesized herein that caprylic acid (C8:0) would suppress inflammation via TLR4/NF-κB signaling and further promote the amelioration of atherosclerosis in apoE- deficient (apoE −/− ) mice. Methods Fifty 6-week male apoE −/− mice were randomly allocated into five diet groups: a high-fat diet (HFD) without or with 2% caprylic acid (C8:0), capric acid (C10:0), stearic acid (C18:0), or linolenic acid (C18:3). RAW246.7 cells were treated with caprylic acid (C8:0), docosahexenoic acid (DHA), palmitic acid (C16:0), and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) with or without TLR4 knock-down (TLR4-KD). The serum lipid profiles, inflammatory biomolecules, and mRNA and protein expression levels were measured. Atherosclerotic lesions that occurred in the aorta and aortic sinuses were evaluated and quantified. Results Our results indicated that C8:0 reduced body fat, improved the lipid profiles, suppressed inflammatory cytokine production, downregulated aortic TLR4, MyD88, NF-κB, TNF-α, IKKα, and IKKβ mRNA expression, and alleviated atherosclerosis in the apoE −/− mice ( P  < 0.05). In RAW 264.7 cells, C8:0 diminished the inflammatory response and both mRNA and protein expression of TLR4, MyD88, NF-κB, and TNF-α compared to those in the LPS and C16:0 groups ( P  < 0.05). However, in the TLR4-KD RAW 264.7 cells, C8:0 significantly upregulated NF-κB mRNA and protein expression compared to those in the C16:0 and DHA groups. Conclusions These results suggest that C8:0 functions via TLR4/NF-κB signaling to improve the outcomes of apoE −/− mice through suppressing inflammation and ameliorating atherosclerosis. Thus, C8:0 may represent as a promising nutrient against chronic inflammatory diseases.
Genome-wide analysis of blueberry B-box family genes and identification of members activated by abiotic stress
Background B-box (BBX) proteins play important roles in regulating plant growth, development, and abiotic stress responses. BBX family genes have been identified and functionally characterized in many plant species, but little is known about the BBX family in blueberry ( Vaccinium corymbosum ). Result In this study, we identified 23 VcBBX genes from the Genome Database for Vaccinium (GDV). These VcBBX s can be divided into five clades based on gene structures and conserved domains in their encoded proteins. The prediction of cis -acting elements in the upstream sequences of VcBBX genes and protein–protein interactions indicated that VcBBX proteins are likely involved in phytohormone signaling pathways and abiotic stress responses. Analysis of transcriptome deep sequencing (RNA-seq) data showed that VcBBX genes exhibited organ-specific expression pattern and 11 VcBBX genes respond to ultraviolet B (UV-B) radiation. The co-expression analysis revealed that the encoded 11 VcBBX proteins act as bridges integrating UV-B and phytohormone signaling pathways in blueberry under UV-B radiation. Reverse-transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) analysis showed that most VcBBX genes respond to drought, salt, and cold stress. Among VcBBX proteins, VcBBX24 is highly expressed in all the organs, not only responds to abiotic stress, but it also interacts with proteins in UV-B and phytohormone signaling pathways, as revealed by computational analysis and co-expression analysis, and might be an important regulator integrating abiotic stress and phytohormone signaling networks. Conclusions Twenty-three VcBBX genes were identified in blueberry, in which, 11 VcBBX genes respond to UV-B radiation, and act as bridges integrating UV-B and phytohormone signaling pathways according to RNA-seq data. The expression patterns under abiotic stress suggested that the functional roles of most VcBBX genes respose to drought, salt, and cold stress. Our study provides a useful reference for functional analysis of VcBBX genes and for improving abiotic stress tolerance in blueberry.
Sympathetic Partial Filament Eruptions Caused by the Interaction between Two Nearby Filaments
To better understand the physical connections in sympathetic solar eruptions, we investigated the interaction between two nearby filaments and their successive partial eruptions in the active region (AR) NOAA 12866 on 2021 September 9 by using data from the Solar Dynamics Observatory and the New Vacuum Solar Telescope. Based on Hα and extreme ultraviolet observations, we found that the right part of one filament (F1) became active first and experienced an obvious rolling motion. Then the whole body of the filament became wider and expanded toward another filament (F2). They collided with each other, and the interaction between them was accompanied by the brightening and bidirectional flows that appeared between them. This implies that magnetic reconnection occurred between the threads of two filaments. The interaction resulted in a rightward motion of F2 at first, and then its activation, and finally part of it erupted. Furthermore, when the erupted F2 deflected rapidly toward the middle part of F1, the left part of F1 erupted with its overlying magnetic fields pushed by F2. These observational results imply that these successive eruptions within a short time are physically linked, and this was caused by the interaction of the filaments. Nonlinear force-free field extrapolation reveals that the magnetic structure of the filament F1 was composed of several magnetic flux ropes with different twists. These results further advance our understanding of partial filament eruptions and sympathetic solar eruptions.
Receptor-like kinase SlRLK-like positively regulates sugar accumulation and fruit ripening in tomato
The ripening process of tomato fruits involves many complex changes. The elucidation of the ripening pathways contributes to the reduction of post-harvest losses and improvement of fruit quality. However, much is unknown about how tomato plants precisely synchronize metabolic regulation and fruit maturation. VIGS, MY2H, BiFC, GUS fused protein activity assays, western-blot, co-expressing in leaves and assays of esculin fluorescence in yeast cells, etc. In this study, SlRLK-like, a member of the receptor-like kinase 1-like ( RLK1L) in tomato, was found to be involved in the regulation of sugar transport, lycopene content, and synthesis of ethylene. The overexpression (OE) or virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) of increases or decreases sugar accumulation in tomato fruits, respectively. Meanwhile, overexpressing causes the acceleration of the ripening process of tomato fruit, which also results in the upregulation of ethylene production and lycopene content. can interact with SlSWEETs (SlSWEET7a and SlSWEET14) and further alter their sucrose transport ability to modulate sugar accumulation. Furthermore, during tomato fruit ripening, SlRLK-like proteins can also interact with ethylene and lycopene biosynthesis-related proteins (SlACS2, SlSAMS4, and SlPSY1) by controlling their gene expression level and protein abundance to promote the process of lycopene and ethylene production. More importantly, sugar accumulation in fruit can enhance ethylene production, which can also speed up the tomato fruit ripening process. As a result, SlRLK-like acts as a positive regulator of tomato ripening. The study provides novel insights into the molecular regulatory networks of tomato fruit quality and ripening, which can be applied to improve tomato cultivation.
The Hidden Magnetic Structures of a Solar Intermediate Filament Revealed by the Injected Flare Material
Solar filaments are spectacular objects in the solar atmosphere, consisting of accumulations of cool, dense, and partially ionized plasma suspended in the hot solar corona against gravity. The magnetic structures that support the filament material remain elusive, partly due to the lack of high-resolution magnetic field measurements in the chromosphere and corona. In this study, we reconstruct the magnetic structures of a solar intermediate filament using EUV observations and two different methods, to follow the injection of hot material from a B-class solar flare. Our analysis reveals the fine-scale magnetic structures of the filament, including a compact set of mutually wrapped magnetic fields encasing the cool filament material, two groups of helical magnetic structures intertwining with the main filament, and a series of arched magnetic loops positioned along the filament. Additionally, we find that the northern footpoints of the helical structures are rooted in the same location, while their southern footpoints are rooted in different areas. The results obtained in this study offer new insights into the formation and eruption mechanisms of solar filaments.
Two Intermittent Eruptions of a Minifilament Triggered by a Two-step Magnetic Reconnection Within a Fan-spine Configuration
Although numerous works have concentrated on minifilament eruption in complex configurations, the detailed triggering mechanism is still an open question. Using the observational data from the New Vacuum Solar Telescope and Solar Dynamics Observatory, we studied a two-step magnetic reconnection process that triggered a minifilament that erupted intermittently within a fan-spine structure in the active region NOAA 13272. The first-step reconnection occurred between a set of low-lying small-scale magnetic loops and their nearby inner spine, resulting in the appearance of a brightening at the reconnection site and the reconfiguration of the inner spine. As the reconfigured inner spine approached the outer spine, reconnection occurred between them at the null point and led to the minifilament erupting partially. Subsequently, this two-step reconnection scenario occurred again and triggered the minifilament to erupt completely. The null point reconnection was supported by the changes in the topological structure of the inner spine and the outer spine, circular ribbon flares, remote brightenings, and the brightening of the outer spine. The null point reconnection related to the second eruption was also confirmed by some plasmoids expelled from the reconnection site. Further, the results of the magnetic field extrapolation reveal the existence of a fan-spine structure involving a three-dimensional null point. We suggest that the two-step reconnection triggers the two eruptions, in which the null point reconnection plays a direct role, but the dynamical evolution of the inner spine and the outer spine driven by the first-step reconnection might be a precursor of the subsequent null point reconnection.
