هذا الكتاب رصد غير مكتمل لعوامل انهيار الأنظمة السياسية ويعري الحكم الاستبدادي ويبرهن على قوة \"الوحدة الوطنية\" يقدم كل من ستيفن ليفيتسكي ودانيال زيبلات الأستاذان بجامعة هارفارد إجابة لسؤال \"كيف تموت الديمقراطيات\" في الكتاب المسمى بنفس الاسم، وذلك بعدما عكفا لأكثر من 20 عاما على دراسة أسباب انهيار الأنظمة في أوروبا وأمريكا اللاتينية، وتوصلا لنتيجة مفادها أن الديمقراطيات تتعرض لمخاطر قد تؤدي بها إلى الموت، أو الانهيار التام.
