Islamic Art and Architecture
The transmission of Islamic architectural and artistic influences to the United States intertwines with the histories of Spain, Europe, and the Americas. This study examines the intricate web of connections that facilitated this migration, tracing its roots from early Spanish presence in the Americas to its enduring impact on American art and architecture. Spanish expeditions to the Americas in the 15th and 16th centuries initiated the infusion of Islamic influences into the region's architecture. Influenced by their Islamic heritage from Spain, the explorers played crucial roles in disseminating architectural styles and decorative elements to colonized lands. Additionally, the migration of Spanish settlers, including Moriscos and Jewish settlers further diversified the architectural landscape of the New World, blending Islamic elements with local traditions. This fusion gave rise to unique architectural styles evident in churches, missions, residential buildings, and civic landmarks across the Americas. Indirect channels from Al-Andalus through European cities like Prague, Vienna, and London also contributed to the global spread of Islamic architectural motifs. The enduring presence of Islamic architecture in the Americas underscores the dynamic interplay of cultures, religions, and historical forces. From the ornate facades of Spanish missions to the diverse designs of Jewish synagogues, Islamic art resonates in the architectural heritage of the United States and beyond, exemplifying the enduring legacy of cultural exchange and synthesis.

El Papel de la Traducción en la Construcción de la Imagen del Otro
Numerosos medios de comunicación occidentales propagan la supuesta idea de que el islam es una religión machista que cultiva la violencia y promueve el terrorismo. El origen de este movimiento está profundamente enraizado en el pasado. Quizás una de las fuentes más importantes de difusión de gran cantidad de ideas erróneas sobre dicha religión se remonta a las primeras traducciones del Corán en lenguas occidentales. En este estudio se analiza el papel de las traducciones del Corán en la configuración de una determinada imagen del islam y los musulmanes.

La dramatizacion de Egipto en el teatro Espanol
Esta primera parte del estudio se inscribe en una línea de investigación que indaga, como punto de partida, la dramatización de Egipto en el teatro español de tesis religiosa en su carácter litúrgico o profano. El examen del teatro breve español así como los géneros mayores nos revela diferentes perspectivas y técnicas en cuanto a la dramatización de Egipto en un cosmovisión diferente. Egipto se nos presenta asociado con varias contextualizaciones religiosas a partir de las primeras formas del teatro hasta la consolidación de las formas mayores. El enfoque analítico- comparativo que se impone a la hora de comentar las obras de nuestro corpus refleja una óptica que, a veces, se ve repetitiva y, otras veces, se encuentra más cerca a la interpretación secular que la Sagrada Escritura pero ambas están gestadas en la tradición popular que además de ponemos al conocimiento de lo religioso nos da acceso al pensamiento cultural y literario en diferentes épocas. Por tanto, el estudio se centra en abarcar la función socio-religiosa mediante la contextualización de Egipto en diferentes géneros y épocas que se extienden desde el teatro prelopesco hasta la actualidad.
