Literary translation is one of the most important ways to break down barriers between languages, as its mission is to convey the cultural aspects and beliefs of one people to another. For translating these works to look like the originals is not an easy task for humans, so imagine what would happen if they were given to machines! The researcher chose Naguib Mahfouz's novel Bayn Al-Qasrain 'Palace Walk' to study the differences between human and machine translation, so this study is based on comparing the results of human and machine translation of literary texts, in particular Naguib Mahfouz's novel Bayn Al-Qasrain 'Palace Walk', in addition to researching the strategies used by them. Finally, the researcher will shed light on the errors and problems faced by humans and machines in translating cultural expressions from Arabic into English.

تشكل عتبات النص دوراً ريادياً في تشكيل الدلالة لدى القارئ للرواية العربية وذلك بغض النظر عما تحمله نص الرواية من مضمون لعتبة النص من مجلد الكتاب وصورة الغلاف لها دلالات أراد منها المؤلف غرضا خاصا وهي عادة ترتبط بعادة البلاد وثقافة الكاتب. تظهر لنا الإشكالية أكثر ما تظهر في الروايات المترجمة واختيار المترجم للعتبات في النص الهدف. من هذا المنطلق نسعى في بحثنا هذا عن طريق المنهج الوصفي- التحليلي أن نلقي الضوء على عتبات النص في روايات نجيب محفوظ المترجمة إلى الفارسية. ومن النتائج التي استخلصناها من الدراسة هي أن المترجم أخضع العتبات إلى تغيير جراء اختلاف في الثقافة وفي محاولة منه لتطبيع الرواية في اللغة الهدف.

The research deals with women in the works of Heinrich Böll and Najib Mahfuz in a comparative study. So, in many cultures woman plays a very important role. In the past, she had predominantly traditional tasks in the West and also in the Arab world. For example, she took care of the children and their education patients and old people prepared food for the family, clothing, etc. she was economically and socially dependent on man. Religion, society and the economic crisis were influencing. She took a significant part in works of many writers by being portrayed as a lover or heroine. After the Second World War, German writers have thematized the ruins of the war, as well as the suffering of the German people. This work deals with the investigation of female figures in the works of Heinrich Böll and Najib Mahfuz. Although they belong to different eras and cultures, both authors presented their experiences in their works. They show resistance of women to the norms of society. Böll presented it through his life experience and war experience or resistance to the existing morality. He shows the problems of women in the postwar period of the 1950s and criticizes the church, which captivated woman through its teachings. Heinrich Böll and Mahfuz were the most important writers. Both writers became well-known authors after the Second World War and worte their works in the context of realism. They also received the Nobel Prize for Literature. Bötl criticizes the Catholic Church in his works. Mahfuz was existentialist. His novel The Children of our neighborhood provoked protests from conservative Islamic circles because the work was considered blasphemy. So, both authors had to deal with religions. In addition, the two authors Böll and Mahfuz dealt with the consciousness of the woman. So, we can make a comparative work between the two authors. Although the works of Böll and Mahfuz have many differences, there are also some similarities. Their treatment of the subject of woman is explained by means of different works. It is about the serious social and economic circumstances woman has experienced. Heinrich Böll has portrayed the suffering of the German woman after the Second World War. He shows traces of the war and suffering of humanity, which was destroyed. Najib Mahfuz has also shown the sufferings of the Egyptian woman because of poverty and corruption and economic conditions. He has expressed his magical world through the artistic form. His novel creativity is to be noted in the structure and fonn of art fiction and artistic honesty. Mahfuz writes in classical Arabic. He is committed to giving classical Arabic a kind of life and bringing it closer to people and to escape difficult words. He considers the vernacular as a defect. Boll's language was simple, clear and precise. His style is too experimental, not innovative. We try in this research to clarify the role of the female figures in the two authors Mahfuz and Böll. Böllls characters like Leni in the novel \"Gruppenbild mit Dame\" and Kate in the novel Und sagte kein einziges Wort are to be compared to female figures of Mahfuz like Amina \"in the Cairo Trilogy, Between the Palaces 1956, Palace of Desire 1957, Roman Zuckergäßchen 1957 and Hamida in the novel Midaq- Gasse. Similarities and differences between the two authors are shown. Significant results have been reached in this Study.

Although about six decades have passed since it was first serialized in Al Ahram newspaper in 1959, Naguib Mahfouz's Children of the Alley remains as controversial as it has always been. It has always been the target of criticism for its godless universe, yet it is very rich in its Sufi symbolism. Despite accusations of blasphemy against the novel, it is fraught with Sufi symbols. Sufi concepts such as divine adoration, hope, repentance, humility, knowledge, purification, nearness and distance, spiritual journey, recollection of God and hermitage are all evident in Children of the Alley. These concepts are analyzed in the light of the stories of Gabalawi, Adham, Gabal, Rifaa, Qassem and Arafa that are inherent in Sufism. Places in Children of the Alley are also imbued with Sufi significance such as Hind's Rock and the mansion at the top of the alley. As Mahfouz says that the allegories in his writings can be read in various ways depending on the reader, the current study claims to interpret the Sufi symbols in Children of the Alley.

تهدف الدراسة إلى تتبع مشاهد الطعام في الثلاثية وتحديد تشكلاتها السردية وتمثيلاتها الثقافية، ومحاولة الكشف عن المضمرات النسقية المراوغة، وتحليل علاقتها بالسياقات الاجتماعية والتاريخية والثقافية؛ لذا اعتمدنا النقد الثقافي في الدرس والتحليل لأجزاء الثلاثية بداية من \"بين القصرين\" ومرورا بـ \"قصر الشوق\" ووصولا إلى \"السكرية\". ولقد استنتجنا الأدوار الوظيفية للطعام في رسم تحولات الشخصيات، وتمثيل التغيرات الاجتماعية والثقافية التي لحقت بأجيال الثلاثية في أساليب الطهي وطرق الأكل، ونوعية الأطعمة، والطقوس الغذائية المتبعة في المحافل والمناسبات، وذلك أثناء رصد المسارات السردية للأحداث وما نتج عن توظيف الطعام من مفارقات في العادات والتقاليد، وما لحق بمجتمع الثلاثية من اختلافات طبقية وثقافية، فكلما تقدم المجتمع زمنيا تغيرت عاداته وتقاليده الغذائية، واختلفت مقاييسه الذوقية.

تناول هذا البحث النوستالجيا في رواية \"قشتمر\" للأديب نجيب محفوظ، ودفعني لدراسة هذا الموضوع تجلي ظاهرة النوستالجيا بأنماطها المختلفة في الرواية، ويهدف هذا البحث إلى الكشف عن بواعث وتجليات النوستالجيا في الرواية. واعتمدت في هذه الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، والمنهج النفسي، ووقع اختياري على هذين المنهجين؛ الأستطيع من خلالهما إبراز بواعث وتجليات النوستالجيا في رواية \"قشتمر\". وجاء البحث في مقدمة، وتمهيد، وثلاثة مباحث وخاتمة، وفهرس المصادر والمراجع وفهرس الموضوعات، تناولت في المقدمة أسباب اختيار الموضوع، وأهميته، والهدف منه، والدراسات السابقة، ومنهج البحث، وخطة الدراسة، وبينت في التمهيد مفهوم النوستالجيا، وبواعثها، والفرق بينها وبين الحنين، وتحدثت- بإيجاز- عن نجيب محفوظ، وذكرت ملخصا للرواية، وتناولت في المبحث الأول نوستالجيا الشخصيات، وفي المبحث الثاني نوستالجيا المكان، وفي المبحث الثالث نوستالجيا الزمان، وجاءت الخاتمة مشتملة على أبرز النتائج. وتوصلت من خلال هذا البحث إلى عدة نتائج أبرزها: شكلت النوستالجيا ملاذا نفسيا لجأت إليه شخصيات الرواية هربا من قسوة الواقع ومرارته، التقاطع بين أنماط النوستالجيا المختلفة حيث تداخلت في بعض النصوص نوستالجيا الشخصيات مع المكان والزمان، تنوع أنماط النوستالجيا في الرواية بين الفردية والجماعية.

تقوم هذه الدراسة على فرضية ترى أن حوارات الأدباء - لا سيما نجيب محفوظ - تمثل خطابات صالحة للدراسة النقدية؛ بهدف استخلاص أهم المضامين المطروحة فيها، وعلى رأسها المضامين النقدية. يضاف إلى ذلك أنها دراسة تبحث أيضًا في مدى تأثير مضامين تلك الحوارات في نقد إبداعات نجيب محفوظ، سواء تم استخدامها بشكل سلبي أم إيجابي. وقد توصلت الدراسة بالفعل إلى احتواء حوارات نجيب محفوظ على بعض المقومات والصيغ والمقولات التي أثبتت قدراته النقدية الجلية على المستويين النظري والتطبيقي؛ حيث اهتم بصياغة بعض الأطروحات النقدية التنظيرية، والمتعلقة بتاريخ الأدب، مطبقًا إياها على بعض الأعمال الأدبية الخاصة به، أو بغيره من المبدعين. كما أظهرت الدراسة كيف أن مضامين هذه الحوارات المحفوظية قد أثرت بوضوح في كثير من النقاد الذين قدموا دراسات لشخصيته أو لأعماله الإبداعية؛ حيث اعتمدوا على بعض مقولاته في تحليل بعض أعماله الأدبية من ناحية، وتقييمها من ناحية ثانية.

إن رواية \"بداية ونهاية\" للكاتب نجيب محفوظ تركز على الحياة والمشاكل الاجتماعية بما فيها الفقر والانحراف بصورة أساسية، إذ تربط الرواية الواقع الاجتماعي ومشكلاته والتكوين النفسي لكل شخصية في الرواية وسعيه في إطار ذلك للوصول إلى مبتغاه من تلك الحياة. إذ توضح الرواية بداية ونهاية العلاقة بين الفرد والمجتمع وبين الأفراد أنفسهم بعضهم ببعض في نفس الأسرة. وتظهر لنا الرواية مدى صعوبة المعيشة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية التي حلت على المجتمع المصري، ومدى صعوبة الحياة عند أبناء الطبقة الاجتماعية الشعبية التي عانت من صعوبة الحياة والعيش بمستوى مقبول، فنرى بان الظروف الاقتصادية والاجتماعية الصعبة قد غلبت في الرواية والتي أدت في النهاية إلى سوء الخاتمة كالانتحار...

يتمحور هذا البحث حول أصداء حياة أويديبوس البطل الإغريقي في رواية \"عبث الأقدار\" لنجيب محفوظ، حيث يبدو التشابه الواضح بين أويديبوس وددف بطل رواية محفوظ، فكلاهما ظهرت نبوءة تجعل منه وهو رضيعاً مصدر للخطر على الملك، وكلاهما غادر وطنه رغم إرادته، فقد أمر لايوس بالتخلص من ابنه أويديبوس، وأمر كاهن رع بإخراج ابنه ددف من المدينة لحمايته، وكلاهما حمله الخادم لينقذه، فأعطى الراعي أويديبوس إلى راع آخر في مدينة أخرى، وأخذت الخادمة زايا ددف لتربيته في بلد آخر، ونشأ كلاهما محروماً من أمه وأبيه؛ فقد حُرم أويديبوس من حضن أمه وكذا من حماية أبيه، وبالمثل حُرم ددف من حضن أمه زايا وكذلك من أبيه كاهن رع، وكلاهما لعب به القدر حتى أوصله للعرش؛ فتربى كلاهما في كنف رجل ميسور الحال، حيث تربى أويديبوس في كنف الملك بوليبوس، وتربى ددف في كنف بشارو مهندس الهرم، وكلاهما حظي بالعناية والاهتمام حتى كبر كل منهما، وكلاهما دفعته الصدفة التي يستخدمها القدر لمصيرهما؛ فيعلم أويديبوس حقيقته عن طريق نبوءة ويقرر الهرب إلى مصيره المحتوم فيقتل أباه ويتزوج من أمه، وكذلك ددف الذي دفعته الصدفة لمقابلة أمه الحقيقية فيحنو عليها ويأخذها إلى بيته، فتقابل أمه المزيفة وتنكشف الحقيقة، فيبدو جلياً أصداء أويديبوس في رواية عبث الأقدار لمحفوظ، تلك التي نسج محفوظ خيوطها من حياة أويديبوس باحترافية واضحة ودقة محكمة في أحداث قدرية توضح مدى إحكام القدر سيطرته على البشر والهبوط بهم من أعلى عليين إلى أسفل سافلين والعكس أيضاً.
