The Consequences of Abandoning African Tradition Represented in Credo Mutwa's Play UNosilimela
This research paper explores the impact of the European contact on African tradition in a colonial context. It focuses on the hazards of abandoning tradition and substituting it with the colonizer's alien culture. This is examined through a postcolonial reading of uNosilimela (1973) by the South African playwright Credo Mutwa (1921- ).This reading is guided by the works of Frantz Fanon (1925-1961) as a frame of reference. In the play, uNosilimela goes through a journey which represents the Africans' relationship with their tradition before and after the colonial impact. uNosilimela's abandoning of her African tradition exposes her to severe suffering. However, her final self-realization leads to a reunion with tradition. Therefore, the play's core is Mutwa's call for the Africans to reunite with their tradition and to defend it against the colonizer's attempts to alienate them from their identity

L'imaginaire poétique de Mohammed Dib
As Dib himself admits and as several specialists of his writing asserts, the last works of this author don't dissociates the ethics of aesthetics. Based on this observation, in this article, we propose to study the role of vegetable and mineral signs in the formation of Dib's poetic imagination, taking as corpus of study his last poetic collections. Referring to a few articles and books treating of imaginary, we will consecrate our reflection on the intimate connection between man and the universe, between microcosm and macrocosm. It will be a question of what the second, as a reservoir of cosmic signs, teaches to the poet who is listening to the mute words of the universe.
The Bond as A Recurrent Motif in Christopher Marlowe's Dr. Faustus, William Shakespeare's the Merchant of Venice, Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House and Tawfiq Al Hakim's the Sultan's Dilemma
A study of Christopher Marlowe's Dr. Faustus, William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice, Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House and Tawfiq Al Hakim's The Sultan's Dilemma reveals the playwrights' use of the \"bond\" as a recurrent motif The fact that the \"bond\" is essential to the themes of the plays examined is dealt with. Endowing each play with its tragic dimension, the \"bond\" is the only means through which the hero/heroine of each play asserts his/her dignity in a society that negates it. The paper will elucidate how the playwrights use the bond to criticize and condemn certain practices of their societies.
