التأملات السبعة التي يضمها هذا الكتاب تم تصورها عبر السنين ولكن يجمعها برغم ذلك طابع واحد مميز : الوعي بالعصر، الاشتباك مع أفكار بعينها، أحلام معينة ويختلط فيها الحب والحنق بإحساسي بالأدب والرغبة في الانفلات من إطار النقد وبعضها اتفاقي ؛ لقد تم إلقاؤها كمحاضرات وكتبت جميعها-وأعيد كتابتها-بحيث يمكنها أن تشكل معا محاولة متواضعة لخطابي الخاص. ولست متأكدا إلى أي نوع تنتمي هذه المقالات السبع. إنني أسميها نقدا نظيرا : مقالات حول اللغة، آثارا للعصر، متخيلات للقلب. إن الأدب جزء من مادتها، سوى أن حدها النقدي مجرد واحد من حدود كثيرة تكمن في العقل ولن أعترض إذا لم تستحق صفة النقد وربما توجب علي ببساطة القول : إنني لا أكتب هذه المقالات كناقد أو كباحث-ولا حتى كشاعر منتحل، أو روائي، أو كاتب مسرح ولكني أحاول أن أجد صوتي في الأشكال التي يقتضيها التأمل في بعض الأحيان ومع ذلك، ما هو بالنتيجة الشيء الفريد ؟ إن كل صوت يلعنه صداه تباركه إجابة هذا الجانب من الفنائية.

Aspects of Postmodernism in Alice Munro's
The current study looks at Postmodernism in Alice Munro's short stories. It is a technical and thematic investigation. First, a description of women's status, role, and sense of self is given. The process of resisting extreme patriarchy, which sees women oppressed and discriminated against in all communities, is next covered. Postmodernism is then identified in the study. One of the most uncommon examples of gender studies portrayal in literature, according to this study, is Munro. The topic of gender equality is frequently brought up in Munro's writing. She is prepared to speak out against American imperialism and social and religious restrictions in public or in private. Canadians and oppressed women are commonly contrasted in her artwork. As can be seen, women must be free from social and patriarchal constraints. Munro's short stories challenge accepted norms by allowing her to disfigure patriarchy and debase the West.

Inheriting the Victorians
This paper is concerned with novelistic refashioning of the nineteenth century as a significant trend in postmodern literature. Acknowledged as an innovative literary technique, rewriting has increasingly been used by many postmodern British novelists to engage critically with Victorian texts. This article focuses on the process of the postmodern rewriting of the Victorian text by addressing the novels of Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre (1847) and Jasper Fforde's The Eyre Affair (2001). Its main purpose is to investigate why the Victorian in particualr holds such an attraction for the postmodernist writers. Our aim is to reveal the numerous similarities between the two novels. What qualities have been absorbed and what have been excluded.

The Derailed Decentered Subject in Sarah Kane's 4.48 Psychosis
This article investigates the mental impairment in the postmodernist character/characters in Sarah Kane's play 4.48 Psychosis through the psychoanalytical theories of Jacques Lacan. Sarah Kane is enlisted among the big three of In-Yer-Face theatre British dramatists who invaded our personal spaces with extremism of language and unsettled disturbing emotions shown on stage. Prompted by the fragmented bizarre structure of 4.48 Psychosis and the perplexing and troubling demeanor of its characters, the study with track down the springs of such ruptures and the reasons of deviation from their past course. The fragmented self in postmodern literature earns its distinction in history through this singular feature of being decentered and its drifting attitude towards the chaotic delusional world. Lacan (1901-1981) is described by Marshall Alcorn in \"The Subject of Discourse: Reading Lacan (and beyond) Poststructuralist Contexts\" as the founder of the psychological structure of the self on \"linguistic and discursive phenomena\" and his talent in synthesizing psychoanalytical and poststructuralist concepts is immensely influential. According to the entry on \"Jacques Lacan\" in the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Lacan asserted a doctrine that human identity is \"decentered\" and when the subject's mind chains snap, vents are created by the missing signifier of the Name-of-the- Father, and psychosis is triggered. Despite the loss of a center, the postmodern subject speaks violence out of a peaceful heart and brutality out of compassionate humanity. In 4.48 Psychosis a destructive physical ache spreads in a subject yearning for love, scary medical notes sound funny and falling black snow, quiet screams and tearless weeps are symptoms of a psychotic subject. The postmodern self is ontologically grounded in love which should be understood as a force that seeks to reunite that which has been separated.

Die Bedeutung von Erwerbsarbeit Für die Identitätsbildung des Postmodernen Subjekts in Friederike Gösweiners Roman Traurige Freiheit
Die postmoderne Gesellschaft zeichnet sich unter anderem dadurch aus, dass das Individuum ihr Zentrum und Architekt ihrer Entwicklungen ist, was vom Individuum besondere Leistungen, Beziehungen, vielfältige Fähigkeiten und eine ständige Bereitschaft verlangt, neue Aufgaben und andere Rollen zu akzeptieren. Er ist dabei ständig auf der Suche nach der eignen Identität. Dieser Aufsatz möchte sich mit diesem Thema im Roman Traurige Freiheit der österreichischen Autorin Friederike Gösweiner auseindersetzten. Er stellt sich dabei die Frage, inwieweit Gösweiners Protagonistin mit ihrer Identitätsbildung scheitert, wobei der Fokus in besonderem Maße darauf liegen soll, zu erörtern, welche Rolle der ausbleibende Erfolg auf dem Arbeitsmarkt dabei spielt. In diesem Zusammenhang wird zuerst der Begriff der Individualisierung erklärt, bevor es darum geht, die Rolle des postmodernen Subjekts in der modernen Gesellschaft zu definieren. Abschließend widmet sich die vorliegende Arbeit dem Phänomen der Einsamkeit als einer Folge der misslungenen Identitätsbildung
