2013
This study was conducted at Tayba center for homeless adolescents Boys, Khartoum - Sudan, to investigate the blood lead concentration and hemoglobin level of gasoline and glue sniffers. The age of the studied group was 7-18 years and the control group were at the same age. There were 14 of glue sniffers and 8 gasoline sniffers. Results of the study indicated that the blood lead concentration of the sniffers (36. 4 (µ/dl) is highly significant (P<0. 01), compared to that of the control group (9. 8 µ /dl). Lead correlation is negatively correlated with Hb (r=-0. 813) and positively correlated with age (r=+0. 465). The study concluded that almost all of the sniffers reached the toxic level of lead and this may be reflected with the symptoms and signs reported for them.
