Assessing and Optimizing University Students' Academic Performance Via Control Charts and a Hat Relationship
This study applies Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques control charts and process capability indices to evaluate and enhance the academic performance of Ibb University students taught by the researcher from 2017 to 2020 in three foundation courses: Probability Theory, Linear Programming, and Mathematical Statistics. Treating education as a measurable process, the analysis revealed general process stability, with all control charts within limits except for one year when instruction was in English instead of the native language, leading to a spike in failure rates. Once the language issue was addressed, performance improved significantly. The process capability index (Cpk = 1.333) reflects good performance with room for improvement. A nonlinear pattern, termed the \"Hat Relationship,\" shows that success in Mathematical Statistics depends strongly on prior performance in the prerequisite courses. The results underscore the importance of reinforcing foundation-level education to ensure success in advanced subjects. The study recommends adapting industrial metrics like Cpk for educational settings and promotes the use of control charts as practical tools for monitoring and improving the learning process, thereby supporting data-driven decision-making in teaching and curriculum design.
The Marshall-Olkin Weibull-Lomax Distribution
We are introducing a new flexible five parameters lifetime distribution called Marshall-Olkin Weibull-Lomax distribution. Some properties of the distribution such as the quantile function, moments, order statistics are derived. The unknown parameters of the new distribution are estimated using the maximum likelihood method. Monte Carlo simulation study is carried out to estimate the parameters and the performance of the estimates is judged via the average biases, mean squared error values and confidence interval. The usefulness of the proposed model is illustrated via real-life data set.
A Comparison between the Maximum Likelihood Method (MLM) and Least Square Method (LSM) to Estimate Parameters of Weibull-Gumbel Distribution by Using Simulation
The Weibull-Gumbel distribution, which is resulting of the integration of two parameters Weibull Distribution, and Gumbel Distribution which where proposed distributions to expand the distribution of Weibull distribution by adding new parameters. In this research, a compares has been achieved between two methods of estimation to estimate the parameters of the proposed distribution by using simulation as a sampling technique for data from Weibull - Gumbel distribution with different samples sizes and parameters. The total standard deviations were used to compare accuracy of both estimation methods.

Stationary Analysis Fluid Model Driven by an M \ k\ / M / 1 Queue
A Fluid queue is a mathematical model used to describe fluid level in a reservoir subject to randomly determined periods of filling and emptying the system without interruption called a buffer, according to a randomly varying rate regulated by an external stochastic environment. Such fluid queues are used as a mathematical tool for modeling, for example, to approximate discrete models, model the spread of wildfires in ruin theory and to model high speed data networks, a router, computer networks including call admission control, traffic shaping and modeling of TCP and production and inventory systems. The fluid from the first phase (i.e, fluid output of the Μ [k] / Μ /1 queue) goes to the second phase represents a buffer with a constant leak rate c. We always assume that service rate is greater than buffer, μ ˃ c. In this paper, a fluid queue driven by infinite queue with fixed -size batch arrivals. The generating function technique is used to obtain the expressions for steady-state distribution of both the buffer content and stationary state probabilities of background birth-death process. Hence, the performance measures are computed whereas the server utilization analysis and mean buffer content are investigated.. In addition, some numerical results are provided to illustrate the effect of various parameters on the distribution of the buffer content.

Choosing Best Method of Estimation Parameters in Regression Model with an Application
