Sectoral Approach in Output Growth Decomposition and its Determinants in Europe
The structural changes in Europe have occurred over the last several decades, reducing output share in the goods sector, while increasing its share in overall services. Applying the growth accounting approach, we decomposed output growth in the economy while following the sectoral approach, in ten individual sectors in twenty-six European countries, from 2000 to 2019. Our analysis shows that total factor productivity has accounted for almost half of the European countries growth in output in the last two decades, with the other half primarily accounted for by increases in fixed asset growth and employment growth, while its variations among sectors are significant. The output growth in the services sector is significantly more driven by employment growth than in the goods sector, leading to overall employment growth in the economy. Applying the panel pooled OLS model, we found that the relevance of expenditures for research and development is high and positive in all sectors, but higher in industry and knowledge-intensive services (information and communication, scientific activities) compared to all sectors average. To the best knowledge of the author, this is the first study presenting output growth decomposition estimates at the sectoral level for a selected group of countries, but also the first study presenting estimates of TFP in the total economy for a selected time periods. In addition, this is the first study that presents the relevance of investment in research and development at the sectoral level in this specific time period and group of countries. Results of the study may be used in defining national policies priorities, as there are varieties among sectors in terms of their impact on employment and economic growth.

أثر تذبذب أسعار الأسهم في بورصة عمان خلال الفترة الزمنية 1990-2021
هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى بيان أثر التذبذبات في أسعار النفط على أسعار الأسهم في بورصة عمان (الأردن) خلال الفترة الزمنية 1990 - 2021 باستخدام بيانات سنوية، وذلك باستخدام طريقة المربعات الصغرى الديناميكية ((Dynamic OLS (DOLS). وأظهرت النتائج وجود أثر عكسي ذو دلالة إحصائية للتقلبات في أسعار النفط على أسعار الأسهم في بورصة عمان، حيث أن وجود تقلبات في أسعار النفط كمدخل رئيسي في عمليات الإنتاج يؤدي إلى أحداث تقلبات في التكاليف التشغيلية للمنشآت، وبالتالي تقلبات في أرباحها مما ينعكس سلبا على أسعار أسهمها. كما بينت وجود تأثير سلبي للإيرادات الضريبية على أسعار الأسهم في بورصة عمان، فزيادة الضرائب على أرباح الأسهم يقلل أرباحها وبالتالي تنخفض أسعارها. أما فيما يتعلق بتأثير عرض النقد على أسعار الأسهم فقد كان إيجابيا، فزيادة عرض النقد يقلل أسعار الفائدة مما يؤدي إلى التوجه لشراء الأسهم فيزيد الطلب عليها ويرفع بالتالي أسعارها.

The Impact of Logistics Performance on Participation in Global Value Chains in Arab Countries
The study aims to measure the impact of logistics performance on participation in global value chains in Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco during the period from 1996 to 2020. The effects on participation in global value chains were examined through two approaches; the first approach is the effects on forward links. The second effect is on participation in global value chains through backlinks. The impact of logistical performance was measured by looking at the impact of container port traffic and air transport, in addition to the impact of economic variables related to explaining the phenomenon, such as per capita GDP, foreign direct investment, and economic freedom. Econometric models were relied upon using dynamic approaches estimated through the bias-corrected method of moments. The study concluded that container port traffic has positive effects on participation in global value chains through backward and forward links, as well as a more profound impact on forward links. Foreign direct investment also contributes to deepening the participation of Arab countries in global value chains through forward links. The results also underscore the importance of economic growth as a promoter of deeper integration into the global economy through global value chains across forward and backward linkages.

التكنولجيا المالية ومدى إستفادت الفئات الأكثر إحتياجا للخدمات المالية في مصر
يشهد القطاع المالي الكثير من التطورات المرتبطة بالخدمات المالية والمصرفية، فالتكنولوجيا المالية بمجالاتها المتعددة تعتبر أحدث مراحل التطور بقطاع الخدمات المالية، وظهرت في هذا المجال الشركات المالية الناشئة التي توفر الخدمات المالية والمصرفية التي تعتمد على التكنولوجيا الحديثة. وتهدف هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على واقع التكنولوجيا المالية في مصر، وأهم شركات التكنولوجيا المالية الناشئة ومدى قدرتها على تقديم أشكال جديدة ومبتكرة من الخدمات والمعاملات المالية والمصرفية خاصة للفئات الأكثر احتياجًا للخدمات المالية والمستبعدة ماليًا من خدمات النظام المصرفي في مصر، وذلك بالاعتماد على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أن قطاع التكنولوجيا المالية في مصر قد حقق تقدمًا كبيرًا، كما شهدت أوضاع الشركات المالية الناشئة نموًا ملحوظًا، حيث صنفت القاهرة واحدة من أفضل سبع مدن في العالم لتأسيس الشركات المالية الناشئة لعام ۲۰۲۰، وكذلك اتضح وجود الكثير من الخدمات والتطبيقات المالية الرقمية المختلفة إلا أنه رغم كثرة هذه الخدمات والتطبيقات وتنوعها فإن ما يناسب الفئات المهمشة والأكثر احتياجًا يعد قليل. الأمر الذي يعني وجود الكثير من التحديات والقيود والتي تتطلب جهودًا وإجراءات لتحسين الوضع وزيادة الخدمات والمعاملات المالية الرقمية التي تناسب الفئات الأكثر احتياجًا للخدمات المالية.
