This study aims to analyze the comments of news readers on related electronic websites concerning topics published in newspapers from Gulf Arab countries and another Arab state. The research problem is linked to the social movement in Bahrain during 2011, which led to significant variation in opinions and comments. The research method followed a content analysis of 124 news articles appearing on the first page of the Al Watan, Al Riyadh, and Al-Ahram online newspapers, in their reporting of Bahrain's social movement of 2011. These articles comprised 30 news items from Al Watan, 20 from Al Riyadh, and 19 from Al- Ahram totalling 1,929 individual comments in response to news about the social movement in Bahrain. The results indicate that the vast majority of these comments were against the movement, with a considerable number expressing negative feelings towards a specific sect. Furthermore, the results show that readers' comments exhibited racial and political affiliation to the Gulf Cooperation Council, regardless of geographical dimension, as seen in the case of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The study concludes that these findings suggest the Arab online public sphere provides greater freedom of expression without fear of censorship or punishment, yet it also exacerbates sectarian anger and tension in Arab societies.

البيت العود = The grand house
2006
Exploring the Structural Relationship of Bahraini Pre-Service Teachers' Attitudes towards the Use of Technology in Education
2021
For several years, researchers and educators have focused on establishing and testing models that could help in predicting the use of technology in education. The technology acceptance model (TAM) developed by Davis (1989) is one of the commonly applied models. This study was conducted in Bahrain to examine the structural relationship of pre-service teachers' attitudes to using technology. The hypothesized model included perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards technology use, behavioural intention to use technology, facilitating conditions, and subjective norm. Structural equation modelling analysis was conducted to test the hypothesized relations between the variables in the model based on the data collected from 203 Bahraini pre-service teachers. The results indicated that attitude towards technology use was significantly predicted by perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Furthermore, perceived usefulness highly and significantly predicted behavioural intention to use technology. Besides, perceived ease of use significantly predicted perceived usefulness. This research has validated TAM on a sample of pre-service teachers in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The annual plants Aizoon canariense L., Asphodelus tenuifolius Cav., and Emex spinosa Campd. are used in traditional medicine in Bahrain, Arabian Peninsula, and many of the west Asian countries. They are sometimes considered as weeds in United States, Australia, and South Africa. Their importance as remedies is evidenced by the many medicinal uses in various body aliments. Medicinal uses include indigestion, reduction of blood pressure, piles and constipation, purgative, and labor inducer. Accordingly, they could be sources of active ingredients in pharmaceutical industry. Understanding the ecology and distribution of these species could be useful in any cultivation activities or conservation efforts. Therefore, this study tried to determine the soil factors that affect their distribution and abundance. Multivariate analyses and Principal Component Analysis were used to test for the statistical relationships. Asphodelus tenuifolius was found predominantly in the desert sandy habitat, while Aizoon canariense and Emex spinosa were found in both desert and agriculture habitats. Specific soil factors including calcium carbonate (CaCO3), electrical conductivity (EC), sand, and silt were shown to affect the abundance of the three species.
