هدف البحث التعرف على التغيرات السكانية في محافظة النجف الأشرف وعلاقتها بالآثار البيئية للمدة 2010-2020. اعتمد على المنهج الوصفي والتحليلي. استهل بتوضيح المفاهيم البيئية. وأشار إلى وجود عدد من الطرق التي استخدمها الجغرافيون لدراسة التغير في توزيع السكان في الوحدات الإدارية تمثلت في: التغير المطلق ونسبة التغير وذلك من أجل الكشف عن التغييرات السكانية في محافظة النجف لأعوام 2010-2020. وتناول الآثار البيئية للتغيرات السكانية في منطقة الدراسة. وأكدت النتائج على تزايد أعداد سكان محافظة النجف الأشرف لعامي 2010 و2020، كما أكدت على تزايد انتشار الميكروبات والغازات السامة من مياه الصرف الصحي ورمي النفايات، بالإضافة إلى قلة الخدمات الصحية والخدمات الأخرى من توفير المدارس والكهرباء والماء والمجاري. واختتم البحث بالتأكيد على ضرورة تفعيل دور الرقابة الصحية والبلديات في الكشف عن مناطق الصرف الصحي ومواقع رمي النفايات الصلبة من أجل التخفيف من الأمراض والأوبئة. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2024

Algerian Company in the Test of Environmental Management Environmental Impact Study by HELIOS
This article proposes a dissemination of an environmental management approach to assess the impact on the environment and analysis of the ecological footprint. By embarking on Environmental Management System (EMS) initiatives, the company most often hopes to have a global vision of its performance level. The drivers of a collective environmental approach in this study confirm the results in two axes, the first representing the theoretical framework of the study's problem, the second representing the empirical study carried out at the Helios Unit and encouraging further study of other paths that suggest an argument in favor of using current regulatory pressures relating to environmental protection, in other words, technical and economic performance no longer has any meaning without the notion of environmental performance.

Treatment and Disposal of Refinery Sludge
Crude oil is a major source of energy and feedstock for petrochemicals. Oily sludge, bio-sludge and chemical sludge are the major sludges generated from the processes and effluent treatment plants of the refineries engaged in crude oil refining operations. Various types of pollutants like phenols, heavy metals, etc. are present in the sludges and they are treated as hazardous waste. Oily sludge, which is generated in much higher amount compared to other sludges, contains phenol (90-100 mg/kg), nickel (17-25 mg/kg), chromium (27-80 mg/kg), zinc (7-80 mg/kg), manganese (19-24 mg/kg), cadmium (0.8-2 mg/kg), copper (32-120 mg/kg), and lead (0.001-0.12 mg/kg), Uncontrolled disposal practices of sludges cause degradation of environmental and depreciation of aesthetic quality. Various treatment and disposal practice have been discussed.
