The study investigates the impact of language barriers on first-year humanities students at the University of Ghardaïa, focusing on their search for and retrieval of information for their academic studies. The research uses a two-year field experiment surveying 405 assignments and is backed by two focus groups. It reveals that whatever their level in foreign languages, students rely heavily on the language of instruction during information searches. They also rely on automatic translation when retrieving information sources in languages other than the language of instruction. The study concludes that language barriers negatively affect the information search process related to university study requirements; the study suggests solutions to enhance information retrieval in multilingual academic environments, highlighting the importance of university professors and tools such as automatic translation.

English has undoubtedly become the world's most influential international language. Researchers are interested in the teaching of English for a variety of sociolinguistic and pedagogical reasons, most notably the development of higher education in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language. Numerous initiatives have been launched to promote the teaching and learning of English as a foreign language in non-English speaking countries, including the Arab world. More precisely, in Saudi Arabia, critical knowledge of teaching and learning English is considered critical in education in order to improve students' proficiency in the English language, particularly in speaking. The present article focuses on the specific English language learning barriers associated with speaking, using Tabuk University as a case study. Ten English-speaking classes at Tabuk University were observed during the foundation year in order to ascertain the reasons for Saudi students' lack of communication. The English program and curriculum, instructional strategies, and students' motivation, anxiety, and reluctance will all be discussed in detail as the primary factors affecting speaking proficiency and language learning. As a result, it is critical to research the aforementioned factors in order to increase awareness of some of the potential English learning barriers faced by Saudi students. This will contribute to the overall academic English language standard at Tabuk University, particularly in terms of speaking proficiency.

It highlights the need for a stronger legal framework and multilingual platforms, alongside educational initiatives and technological investments, to create an inclusive digital experience.

The present qualitative study delves into the trilateral relationship between supervisees, supervisors, and program coordinators in the context of EFL master dissertation writing in Algerian universities. Data comes from three sources: students, supervisors, and program coordinators through focus group discussions, questionnaires, and interviews respectively. The data was analysed using a grounded theory technique, following a bottom-up analysis to enable themes to emerge directly from the data. The findings are presented as an innovative triadic adaptive supervision framework that can be applied in Algerian settings and beyond. This framework provides valuable perspectives on enhancing supervision practices and fostering academic excellence in master dissertation writing across diverse educational settings.

Il est à n'en pas douter que l'évolution technologique a profondément modifié notre manière d'interagir avec nos semblables et avec les messages qu'ils produisent. Traduire ces messages d'une langue à une autre nécessite de recourir à un traducteur spécialisé en la matière, faute de quoi le passage par les outils de traduction automatique (TA) s'avère être un mal nécessaire. Nous devons donc examiner les mécanismes qui président à la traduction réalisée par la machine en la comparant à celle menée par le traducteur. Cette confrontation / comparaison des deux manières de faire (traduction automatique / traduction humaine) permettra de montrer jusqu'à quel point la traduction automatique (TA), bien que gérée par une armada d'outil qui relèvent de l'intelligence artificielle (IA), reste qualitativement en deçà de celle menée par l'homme. Pour mener à bien ce comparatisme machine / homme, nous nous appuierons sur le logiciel (ChatGPT 3.5) actuellement fréquemment utilisé pour traduire.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد الاستراتيجيات والتقنيات الترجمية المعتمدة في ترجمة أدب الأطفال لا سيما الخرافات أو الحكايات التي تجسدها الحيوانات والموجهة لشريحة الأطفال، وكيفية تعامل المترجم مع مضامينها التربوية والتعليمية وغيرها. ومن هذا المنطلق تعتمد دراستنا هذه على المنهج التحليلي بمقاربة تربوية حيث يتم تحليل عينة من القيم التربوية التي تضمنتها الترجمات المعتمدة لخرافة لافونتين. إذ أن ترجمة المضمون التربوي في الخرافة ليس بالأمر الهين، فالتربية تتضمن أنواعا مختلفة من القيم المعرفية والاجتماعية والأخلاقية وغيرها، تتطلب أثناء النقل إلى اللغة العربية مهارة لغوية كبيرة وقدرة فنية خاصة من أجل إمتاع الطفل وترفيهه ولكن تربيته وتوجيهه في أن واحد. كما أن التصرف في نقل أدب الطفولة عامة هو استراتيجية في الترجمة الحرة تتمثل في ينظر المترجم أولا وقبل كل شيء إلى ما يناسب المتلقي في اللغة الهدف وذلك بالحذف أو الإضافة أو التقديم والتأخير حتى تتجلى الصورة الفنية والتربوية على حد سواء.

This article tackles one of the most pressing problems which is the breaking down of communication barriers so that one can gain fluent English language communication. The purpose of the article is threefold. First, it explores the factors that create language barriers. Second, it highlights the impact of language barriers on verbal and non-verbal communications, and third, it makes recommendations for improving communication in an effective manner. Such an issue is of prime necessity as globalization urges more and people, whether students or others to utilize language as a tool for communication in building relationships.

تكمن أهمية الدراسة في كونها تتناول الإذاعة المحلية باعتبارها تتجه نحو مجتمعات محلية لها خصائص متميزة واهتمامات مشتركة وهوية ثقافية واحدة، مما يجعلها تعكس هذا الواقع المحلي وتناقش قضاياه خاصة الثقافة منها، التعرف على أسباب استماع المراهقين عينة الدراسة للإذاعات المحلية، وهدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة درجة اعتماد المراهقين عينة الدراسة على الإذاعات المحلية في الحصول على معلومات حول الأمن الاجتماعي، والكشف عن اتجاهات المراهقين نحو دور الإذاعات المحلية في التوعية بالأمن الاجتماعي لديهم، تنتمى هذه الدراسة إلى الدراسات الوصفية، يتمثل المجتمع البشرى في هذه الدراسة في طلاب المرحلة الثانوية، وتمثلت عينة الدراسة في عينة عشوائية قوامها 222 مفردة من إدارة العريش التعليمية، محافظة سيناء، اشتملت أدوات الدراسة على: استمارة الاستبيان، مقياس الأمن الاجتماعي، تمثلت أهم نتائج الدراسة الحالية فيما يلى: أن أهم موضوعات الأمن الاجتماعي التي تهتم بها الإذاعات المحلية بشكل أكبر هذه الأيام من وجهة نظر المراهقين، حيث جاء في الترتيب الأول تلك الموضوعات \"تفعيل قوانين المرور والحد من الحوادث\"، وجاء في الترتيب الثاني \"الفساد الاجتماعي\"، كذلك جاء في الترتيب الثالث \"غياب الثقة في تصريحات السلطة\"، وجاء في الترتيب الرابع \"الفساد السياسي\"، أما الترتيب الخامس موضوع \"الفساد الاقتصادي\"، وفي الترتيب السادس جاء موضوع \"الإرهاب\"، وجاء في الترتيب السابع \"موضوع الخدمات الصحية\"، أما بالترتيب الثامن \"تعاطى المخدرات والمشروبات الكحولية\"، يليها في الترتيب التاسع \"إعلاء قيمة الولاء الوطني\"، وجاء في الترتيب العاشر والأخير \"موضوع احترام القانون\"، يوجد فرق دال إحصائيا بين متوسطات درجات الذكور ومتوسطات درجات الإناث على مقياس دور الإذاعات المحلية في التوعية بالأمن الاجتماعي، توجد علاقة ارتباطية دالة إحصائيا بين درجة اعتماد المراهقين على الإذاعات المحلية وبين زيادة الوعي بالأمن الاجتماعي لديهم.
