Photoluminescence emission behavior on the reduced band gap of Fe doping in CeO2-SiO2 nanocomposite and photophysical properties
Fe/CeO2-SiO2 nanocomposite was synthesized via hydrothermal method. Bond length of nanocomposite was determined through FTIR analysis, while Raman analysis showed lattice relaxation of CeO2 phase in Fe/CeO2-SiO2. TEM, XRD and DLS-PSA revealed an increase in size of Fe/CeO2-SiO2 as compared to CeO2-SiO2 which was attributed to have more oxygen vacancies in CeO2 after doping of iron. Lattice contraction was also observed in some phases of CeO2 in Fe/CeO2-SiO2 nanocomposite as compared to CeO2-SiO2 nanocomposite. This contraction was used for determination of Fe content incorporated in CeO2 [1 1 1] phase. The band gap values of Fe/CeO2-SiO2 nanocomposite were found reduced after doping of Fe by factors of 0.62 and 0.55 eV, respectively. Photoluminescence study of the materials was carried out to study the different type of transitions occurring after absorption of electromagnetic radiation. Photoluminescence intensity at 2.12 eV was found enhanced after doping of Fe due to increased oxygen vacancy. Photocatalytic activity of the nanocomposites was studied with the degradation of chlorpyrifos pesticide.
Mineral content and physical properties of local and imported honeys in Saudi Arabia
In addition to color, ash and electrical conductivity (EC), the levels of 14 minerals were investigated in 23 varieties of honey from Saudi Arabia and six other countries. The quantities of the macrominerals obtained were as follows (in ppm): K (298.60–491.40), Mg (80.70–199.30), Ca (60.75–99.95), P (21.10–33.29), and Na (15.69–26.93). The quantities of trace minerals were as follows (in ppm): Fe (67.18–98.13), I (12.61–94.68), Mn (4.15–6.04), Zn (3.44–5.72), Li (1.15–4.26), Co (1.00–1.32), and Ni (0.15–0.67). The quantities of the heavy metals Pb and Cd were found to be 0.06–0.23 and 0.00–0.16, respectively. The values of the tested elements—color, ash and EC—varied among the tested honeys according to their botanical origin. Dark honeys, especially acacia honeys, had higher elemental content and EC values than lighter ones. Saudi and Yemeni seder honeys exhibited no distinctive characteristics in their tested parameters. The levels of heavy metals indicated that the tested honeys were safe for human consumption.
Polythiophene nanocomposites for photodegradation applications: Past, present and future
Polythiophene (PTh) has been the subject of considerable interest because of its good environmental stability, unique redox electrical behavior, stability in doped or neutral states, ease of synthesis, and wide range of applications in many fields. Apart from its applications in the electrical or electronic field, PTh has shown promising applications in photocatalytic degradation. The fabrication of a catalyst, metal oxides with PTh, extends the absorption range of the modified composite system, thereby enhancing the photocatalytic activity under UV or visible light irradiation. Substituted PTh, such as alkyl substitution, modifies the electronic properties of the polymer, thereby enlarging the potential for industrial applications. PTh or substituted PTh when combined with metal, metal oxide or a combination of both, can exhibit tailorable photocatalytic properties. This review focuses on the chemistry of the band gap engineering of PTh or PTh based systems and the mechanism of photocatalytic degradation. The major developments in the field of UV and visible light-assisted photocatalysis are discussed in terms of the parameters that affect the photocatalytic efficiency. On the other hand, some challenges still needs to be investigated experimentally, which are mentioned as the scope for future studies. For simplicity, the review has been classified under a major subheading depending on the type of composite system used for photocatalysis.
Effect of irrigation water salinity and tillage systems on some physical soil properties
The current study investigated the effect of water quality (the salinity of the irrigation water) and Tillage system on some soil physical properties. The experiment was carried out using RCBD with three replicates. wheat was irrigated by three water sources, a river ,dranege and well waters with electrical conductivities 1.3, 3.5 and 6.9 ds.m-1 respectively and three tillage systems were zero tillage (ZT), conventional tillage (CT) and deep tillage (DT). After harvest, some soil physical properties were evaluated including: bulk density, porosity, penetration resistance, hydraulic conductivity and mean weight diameter. The result showed that the bulk density values were 1.40, 1.44 and 1.47 mg.m-3 for river, derange and well water. while the porosity values were 47.3%, 45.8% and 43.8%. for river, derange and well water. while the hydraulic conductivity were 5.13, 4.26 and 4.36 cm.h-1for river , derange and well water. also the result showed that the bulk density values were 1.48, 1.44 and 1.38 mg.m-3 for ZT, CT and DT respectively. while the porosity values were 44.3, 45.7 and 47.8% for ZT, CT and DT respectively. But for the interactions for electrical conductivity with tillage The result showed that the bulk density values were 1.50 mg.m-3 for well water with ZT but decrees value it become 1.34 mg.m-3 for river water with DT. The best type of tillage was conventional tillage as it has the ability to improve properties of soil as well as it helps to reduce.

تم في هذا البحث تصميم ومحاكاة تصميمين جديدين من هوائيات الشريحة المايكروية العاملة ضمن النطاق الترددي (115-125) THz و(125-135) THz الذي يقع ضمن نطاقات المنطقة تحت الحمراء (IR). يتكون هوائي الشريحة المايكروية المقترح من ثلاث طبقات طبقة الرقعة من الذهب، وطبقة الركيزة من السيليكون وطبقة المستوي الأرضي من الذهب الركيزة في كلا التصميمين عبارة عن مادة عازلة من السيلكون ذات ثابت عزل كهربائي يساوي εᵣ = 10.3. تأخذ الرقعة المايكروية شكل بلوتوث وشكل فتحة بلوتوث. نوع التغذية المستخدم هو تغذية دليل الموجة عند ممانعة 50 Ω تم تقييم أداء كل من الهوائيين المقترحين، من خلال معامل الانعكاس (S11)، والتوجيهية، والربح وعرض النطاق الترددي بواسطة برنامج المحاكاة CST STUDIO SUITE. تم ملاحظة أن عرض النطاق الترددي للهوائي ذو رقعة بلوتوث كان (115-125) THz، أما بالنسبة للهوائي ذو رقعة فتحة بلوتوث كان (125- 135) THz، حيث أن هذه الترددات تقع ضمن نطاق ترددات المنطقة تحت الحمراء.
