تتناول هذه الدراسة بالوصف والتحليل ما دونه الإيطالي مارشيللو موكي في رحلته للمملكة العربية السعودية عام 1359هـ/ 1941م، من معلومات مهمة عن التراث العمراني في مدينة الرياض، من خلال إيضاح العوامل المؤثرة في التراث العمراني للمدينة، ودراسة خصائصها العمرانية والمعمارية، مع عرضي لنماذج من القصور التراثية فيها. وخلصت الدراسة إلى التأكيد على أن التراث العمراني لمدينة الرياض كان نتاجا للجهود الإنسانية وتعبيرا عن البيئة الطبيعية التي تعد المصدر الأساسي لمواد البناء التي استخدمها سكان المدينة، والتأكيد- أيضا- على براعة، وتفوق، وإتقان المعماريين المحليين في العمارة التقليدية لمدينة الرياض والتي تحمل قيما تاريخية، وثقافية، واقتصادية، واجتماعية ممتدة في الماضي، والحاضر، والمستقبل.
