The present study surveys the attitudes of Arab public opinions on the position of the French government concerning demeaning cartoons to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The study utilizes the descriptive approach and employs media dependence theory. The sample of the study consists of 2840 participants from various Arab countries. According to the results of the survey, respondents believed that the main reason for the French government's support for the demeaning cartoons is the apprehension of the spread of Islam. Another conclusion this study has attained is that in Arab public opinion, the French's government insensitivity to the demeaning cartoon of Prophet Muhammad is underlies a racist attribute.

يهدف البحث الى تبيان الصراع بين الاسلام والصهيونية وهو صراع حركته وسائل الاعلام الغربية، وجعلته من أهم الموضوعات الإخبارية الإعلامية. غير أن هذا الصراع انتقل من الاطار الفكري الى وسائل الاعلام الغربية التي يحتل اللوبي اليهودي نفوذا قويا فيها، والتي اسهمت في تشويه صورة الاسلام \" اسلام فوبيا\" من خلال قضيتي الحرب على الارهاب والرسوم المسيئة للرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم. وبرز انحياز الاعلام الغربي للوبي الصهيوني في قضية معاداة السامية. وبالجملة فإن تناول الاعلام الغربي لقضايا الاسلام يعتبر من باب حرية التعبير، بينما نقد اليهود والفكر الصهيوني يندرج تحت قانون معاداة السامية، ومن هنا برزت الازدواجية الاعلامية.
