Assessment of the Wettability of Addition Silicone Impression Material Following Short Term Immersion in Tea Tree Oil Solution
Background: Dental impressions are often contaminated with the patient's saliva, blood, and plaque, represents a risk of cross-infection between dental practitioners. In order to prevent the spread of microorganisms, disinfection of all dental impressions is mandatory. Chemicals are usually used to disinfect impressions by immersion. Nonetheless, these chemicals may alter the physical and mechanical properties of impression material. The study purpose was to evaluate the tea tree oil effect as an impression disinfectant on wettability property of addition silicone impressions material. This study employed a total of 60 heavy- and light-body addition silicon impression material specimens. The specimens were randomly sorted and immersed into three primary groups. These test groups where 1% TTO and the other two groups are distilled water (negative control) and 2% glutaraldehyde (positive control).all was immersed for 10 minutes .each of the three main groupings has 20 specimens. There were no statistically significant differences in wettability of addition silicone impressions among all test groups. The addition silicone impression material may be safely submerged in TTO for 10 minutes to disinfect it without impairing the wettability of the impression.
The Effect of some Beverage Rich in Chlorogenic Acid on Rats Suffering from Chronic Liver Damage Induced by Carbon Tetrachloride
Chronic liver disease refers to on-going inflammation in the liver for at least 6 months with the potential to progress to cirrhosis and end-stage liver disease. In the present study, the effect of some beverage rich in chlorogenic acid on rats suffering from chronic liver induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) was studied in Male albino rats. Forty-two rats were divided into six groups. Group 1: negative control group (normal, fed on basal diet), Group 2: positive group, injected with CCl4 (fed on basal diet). Groups 3, 4, 5 and 6 were injected with CCl4 co-administered with green coffee, roasted coffee, green tea and black tea. The results showed that the administration of CCl4 resulted in significant increase in liver enzyme, in addition, CCl4 disturbed liver histology. There was a statistically significant difference between the positive control group when compared to green coffee and green tea groups (192.33 ± 6.83 g vs. 193.67 ± 7.50 g, respectively) in the final weight. Beverage extract has a beneficial effect on serum glucose, lipid profile, kidney, and liver function. Histopathological examination indicated that groups administered with green tea, roasted coffee have normal histological structure
The Ameliorative Effect of Green Tea, Garlic and Vitamin C on Arsenic Toxicity in Male Mice
Arsenic is a heavy metal with toxic effects on human health and is widely found in the environment. It is used in suicides and, hence, acquires forensic impact. Sixty adult male albino mice weighing 30-40 g were subjected to a sub-lethal dose of sodium arsenate (40 mg/kg body weight) to investigate hematological, biochemical and histopathological alterations in liver and kidney. The mice were also co-treated with green tea, garlic and vitamin C to reveal the protective role of these herbal and synthetic antioxidants. Arsenic induced significant declines in all blood parameters, while green tea, garlic and vitamin C ameliorated these affected hematological parameters. Alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate transaminase (AST) were significantly increased in the sodium arsenate treated group, while green tea, garlic and vitamin C ameliorated these increases in enzyme levels. Creatinine and urea were significantly increased in arsenic treated mice. These renal parameters become normal in mice co-treated with green tea, garlic and vitamin C. Arsenate-treated mice showed venous congestion, sinusoidal dilatation, mononuclear cell infiltration and periportal fibrosis in liver sections. Kidney samples from the same group revealed interstitial hemorrhages, mononuclear cell infiltration, glomerulonephritis and proximal tubular necrosis. Hepato-renal injuries were greatly reduced, particularly in animals that received both green tea and garlic. The herbs used have a potential for ameliorating and protecting against the hepato-renal toxicity caused by arsenic and need further studies. This study revealed the possibility of using liver and kidney as indicators to ascertain arsenic poisoning in forensic caseworks.

Study the effect of metal ion on wool fabric dyeing with tea as natural dye
Aqueous extract of natural dye, tea was dyed on the wool fabric with dark brown for 2% and 5% shade. The tea containing tannins as the main colorant species to produce different shade with different mordant salts. The mordant salts Alum, CuSO4, FeSO4, ZnSO4, Na2SO4, and MgSO4 were used to dye fabric using three different dyeing methods: pre-mordanting, meta-mordanting and post-mordanting. The color of the fabric was investigated on Data Color matching system in terms of K/S and CIE Lab-color difference values. The post-mordanting method gave the great depth of shade of natural dye tea with 2% and 5% shade, it also give good light fastness and wash fastness properties. Copper was found as a good mordant to achieve the best results with transition metal ions effect. Deep shades (K/S = 17.50) were obtained for original sample of 5% with color difference ΔE value is 0.17, as compare to 2% original sample of tea of light brown shades (K/S = 10.50) with color difference ΔE value is 0.50 under maintained temperature at 85 °C for 35 min of dyeing.
