المكتبات العراقية بين أحداث عام 2003 وتحديات الوضع الراهن
يهدف هذا البحث إلى التعريف بالأحداث التي شهدتها المكتبات العراقية أثناء اجتياح العراق من قبل القوات الأمريكية البريطانية واحتلاله في نيسان من عام 2003، مستعرضا مشاهد الحرق والتدمير وعمليات السلب والنهب التي تعرضت لها، ومستعرضا نموذجين مهمين من المكتبات العراقية دمرا تدميرا شبه كامل هما مكتبتي المجمع العلمي العراقي ودار الكتب والوثائق الوطنية، مشيرا إلى حجم خسارتهما في مجموعاتهما وكذلك في الأجهزة والمواد ومعدات العمل ومعززا ذلك بالجداول والإحصاءات. تم يتناول البحث الوضع الذي آلت إليه هاتان المكتبتان والتحديات الحالية التي تواجههما والخطط التي وضعتهما لإعادة تأهيل نفسيهما، كما يشير إلى نوعية وحجم الدعم والمعونات الدولية التي قدمت إليهما. ويختتم بمجموعة مقترحات من شأنها مساعدة هاتين المكتبتين وغيرها من المكتبات العراقية التي تضررت نتيجة هذا الاحتلال للنهوض بنفسها من جديد.
