The study aims to evaluate the effect of germinated and fermented red radish seeds in alleviating liver and kidney toxicity induced by cadmium in experimental rats. The results showed that red radish seeds contributed to reducing the elevated levels of certain biochemical markers such as ALT, asing the activity of antioxidant AST, urea, creatinine, and MDA, while increreduction in organ damage, particularly when both enzymes, leading to a germinated and fermented seeds were used together

Anti Hypothyroidism Effects of Flax Seeds \Linum Usitatissimum\ Powder and Extract in Rats

Background: Hypothyroidism, also known as low thyroid hormone, is a disorder of the endocrine system in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. The aim of this study is to identify the protective effect of flaxseed powder and extract on the chemical and biological properties of rats with hypothyroidism. Methods: 30 male (SPRD) rats were randomly divided into 5 groups of 6 rats each and one of them was kept as a negative (-ve) control group, the rest of rats were administered intraperitoneally with 6-n-propyl-2- thiouracil (PTU, 10 mg/kg) for 15 days to induce hypothyroidism. Then, the groups were divided as follows, group 2 positive control (+ve) fed on basal diet. Treated group (3) fed on basal diet and injection of L-thyroxin drug at a dose of 0.5 mg/kg, group 4 fed on basal diet and flax seed powder 5g/100g/ diet daily and group 5 fed on basal diet and orally dosed of flax seed extract at dose 1ml/kg b.wt/ rats daily by stomach tube. Results: The results of the analysis of phenolic compounds showed the highest amount of flaxseed is catechein, gallic, pyrogallol and e-vanillic. The results of the biological evaluation at the end of the experiment showed that the treated groups fed flaxseed powder and extract with levels of thyroid hormones had a significant decrease in the level of (T3) in the blood plasma of the groups affected by thyroid gland. On the other hand, thyroxine (T4) was recorded and also an improvement in the group Treatment with Lthyroxin compared to the control group (+ve). The treated groups showed a significant decrease in serum total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, ALT, AST, urea, creatinine, uric acid. While body weight gain (BWG), and HDL cholesterol were significantly increased compared to (+ve) group. It showed an increase in the level of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in the blood plasma. Conclusion: Flax seeds powder and extract are readily available supplier of polyphenols with major antioxidants that are functional food components as they influence physiological and biochemical processes, resulting in better health and improved level of thyroid hormone.

The overall aim of this study is to estimate the spatial-temporal variation of NO2 concentrations and its influencing factors in the State of Libya using the tools offered by Sentinel-5P TROPOMI, over the past year (January to December 2021). The significance of NO2 observation comes since NO2 accumulation in the atmosphere will cause severe air pollution. In recent decades, the Libyan State has been exposed to huge amounts of NO2 due to rapid economic growth, industrialization, and urbanization. Lately, Sentinel-5P observations have become the critical technical means regarding atmospheric observation compared with ground-based measurements. Results have shown that measurements obtained from Sentinel-5 Precursor were 8.7% more accurate than ground-based measurements. Moreover, the NO2 column concentration was higher in the summer than in winter was as found in global and local Moran's test results, whilst the spatial distribution pattern was higher in coastal areas than inner areas. The influencing factors have also had a significant and positive impact that led to the high NO2 atmospheric concentrations emphasized by SLM calculations.

Appropriate lifestyle pattern and behavior interventions are crucial to weight loss success but maintaining is extremely challenging. The current study aimed to evaluate the effect of mixing some spices (cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, ginger, and clove) on biochemical parameters and body weight gain in obese rats. This work was carried out on (40) Adult male Wister albino rats (weighing 120 ± 20 g) randomly classified into five groups. control (c-), group (2) was fed with High Fat Diet (c+). group (3,4, and 5) fed with HFD + different mixing of spices (cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, ginger, and clove) throughout the experimental period of 8 weeks. Chemical composition, Mineral's content, fatty acid, phenolic compounds, biochemical signs, Seram glucose level, body weight gain, liver & kidney function and histopathological examinations were determined. The results showed that there was a significant difference in Chemical composition and fatty acids content between the three tested samples. according to Biochemical Parameters treated groups with the three mixes shows a significant decrease in Cholesterol, Triglyceride, and LDL-c, and a significant increase in HDL-c. especially the group fed on mix 1 reported a great improvement in Cholesterol, Triglyceride, HDL-c, and LDL-c, compared with groups fed on mix 2 or mix 3. the three treated groups showed a significant improve in Seram glucose level. and a significant decrease in (BWG) especially the group fed on mix 3. it could be noticed that the mixing several medical spices together will provides more significant effect in treating obesity, hyperlipidemia, and high blood glucose levels especially mix (1) was the most effective mix.
