The Role of Literacy Events in Developing Iraqi's EFL Skills
Literacy events extract meaning from many sources including written ones. EFL learners might not be aware of the several activities, other than learning, that can help improve their language skills. The current quantitative descriptive study investigated the utilization of English sources outside the classroom. A total of (48) participants answered the survey of this study. The results of the study showed few participants use the target language in their daily life while the majority of the sample use literacy events outside the classroom with a variety of impact of developing their language domains. The study is important for Iraqi EFL teachers because it can be helpful in designing extracurricular activities in the EFL classroom.

Factors Affecting English Skills Development among Kuwaiti Students
Objectives: This study identifies the factors affecting developing English language skills among Kuwaiti college students. The findings enhance the literature on education in Muslim countries, creating a theoretical basis for improving the pedagogical process and educational quality in Kuwait while enhancing the English proficiency levels among Kuwaitis. This creates the potential for effectively integrating the country into the global arena. Method: The students' English proficiency is identified using the Cambridge Assessment English methodology. A survey is administered to identify the factors influencing students' English language proficiency and a pedagogical experiment is conducted. Results: The results revealed motivational, cultural, religious, gender-based, educational process quality, and cognitive dissonance factors. Conclusion: Integrating English with STEM disciplines and using innovative educational technologies are recommended for positively promote English proficiency.

The Adoption of Team-Based Learning to Enhance Reading Motivation in the Teaching of Linguistics
This study examines the effect of Team-Based learning on enhancing reading motivation in Linguistics for first year students . A Reading Motivation Questionnaire was administered prior the application of team-Based learning and after it in the teaching of Linguistics, to see whether this novel instructional strategy can effectively foster students' engagement with reading materials. The study included two groups : one experimental with 25 participants and another control with the same number. The findings showed that the majority of students have medium reading motivation, but when applying TBL, there was a significant increase in students' reading efficiency and there was also a major improvement in their intrinsic motivation, whereas a minor increase in their extrinsic motivation was noticed. The results provide insights for instructors about the triangular and changing nature and shape of reading motivation .that enable them to develop student's everlasting love for reading linguistic materials.

تطوير المهارات اللغوية للطالب المعلم من التعليم إلى التمكين : (بحوث تجريبية وتطبيقات تربوية)
يقدم كتاب \" تطوير المهارات اللغوية للطالب المعلم من التعليم إلى التمكين\" دراسة معمقة عن مهارة التلخيص، تشمل تعريفها، أنواعها، معاييرها، وأخطاء شائعة على مستوى الطالب المعلم. يعرض استراتيجيات تربوية لتطوير هذه المهارة، أبرزها استراتيجية SQ4R، عبر بحوث تطبيقية تسعى إلى تمكين الطالب المعلم وتنمية قدرته على التلخيص الفعال خلال دراسته، وتزويده بأساليب تساعده لاحقا في تنمية مهارات طلابه بفعالية.

Microsoft Teams Based Automated Evaluation of Saudi Undergraduates Reading Fluency
Reading fluency is one of the most important factors for successful reading. The aim of this study was to assess language learners' reading skills (fluency) based on their reading performance. It also evaluated the usefulness and reliability of the Microsoft Reading Progress tool for reading assessment. The sample consisted of 30 Saudi undergraduate students studying English as a foreign language (EFL) via blended learning at Taibah University. The findings demonstrated that all learners performed differently when reading the first and second texts, based on the automated feedback generated by Microsoft Teams. In addition, the results indicated that learners are at 'instructional level' in reading the first text while they are at 'frustration level' in reading the second text. However, the teachers needed to listen to and check the recordings, as there were some errors in the generated results. Overall, the Reading Progress tool is recommended for helping Saudi EFL learners improve their reading performance and overcome reading difficulties by enabling them to practice reading at their own pace. The tool can also help teachers keep track of learners' progress and assign individual activities based on the results.

Developing Reading Skill among Iraqi English as Foreign Language Learners
The main thrust of the present study was to improve English as foreign language in the Iraqi academic context. To this end, 30 ENGLISH AS FOREIGN LANGUAGE learners were selected as the participants of the study. All participants took the pretest followed by 25 ninety-minute sessions in which the learners presented their lectures (totally 9 lectures) followed by the challenging questions that they had to answer and the correction feedback in terms of vocabulary, structure, collocation, etc. Moreover, every three lectures followed by taking a progressive test, the posttest and the delayed posttest. Having followed the repeated measure ANOVA, the researcher put the data into SPSS 22 and analyzed it in terms of both descriptive and inferential statistics. It was found that teaching Reading through the tenets of sociocultural theory is influential and equally effective for all participants irrespective to their level or age. The results of the study indicated that presenting lecture improves the learners' Reading development, consciousness-raring regarding learning processes and learning linguistic items, collaboration, autonomy and motivation. It was also pointed out that learning is not a straightforward transmission of knowledge provided by the teacher but a transformative and complex process for which learner's agency, engagement and their co-construction of knowledge are crucial.
