Examining the Factors Affecting Individual's Information Privacy Concerns of Mobile Apps
2024
Although mobile applications are on the cutting edge of mobile computing technology, security issues loom as a hindrance to their acceptance. Extant literature indicates that addressing security breaches may not primarily rely on advanced technologies but also factors such as security knowledge, prior privacy experience, and behavior. This has led to the emergence of several theories that mainly address the gap related to privacy concerns among mobile device users, especially assessing individual behavioral intention toward mobile applications. To fill this gap, the current study is built upon the Mobile User Information Privacy Concerns (MUIPC) framework. Therefore, a survey study comprising 290 participants' data was undertaken to empirically examine the proposed theoretical model regarding individual motivation to utilize mobile apps. The study's findings indicate that prior privacy experience, technical security knowledge, and download priority are significant predictors of perceived surveillance, perceived intrusion, and secondary use of information. However, the influence of desensitization was insignificant. Further, the findings show that secondary use of personal information has a negative and significant effect on the intention to use mobile apps. The findings also indicate that users' privacy and security perceptions vary depending on the level of information sensitivity in mobile apps.

The ease of use of smartphone applications makes using them quite joyful because they are an essential part of our modern lifestyle and have a big impact on our day-today activities. A computer program or software application that is specifically made to run on a mobile device, such as a phone or tablet, is called a mobile application. User interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design principles are used to create the program and evaluate its quality. This research discusses the new UI/UX design concepts for mobile applications to explain their characteristics and their effects on improving the quality of the User interface (UI) and User Experience (UX). The purpose of this research is to explain the features of the new UI/UX design principles for mobile applications and their effects on enhancing the quality of the applications and users' satisfaction with these applications that are designed based on these new principles. Applying these new design Criteria into practice. Design/methodology/approach: the researcher uses a descriptive method for collecting data and applying quantitative methodology through a questionnaire as a tool applied on a sample of three categories of mobile applications, (Bank app, Shopping app, Mobile network app) to exam the results of the research. Findings: Quality design criteria of mobile apps can positively impact user experience. Prioritizing usability, visual design, performance, accessibility, and personalization can create a user-centered design that meets users' needs. Such apps are easy to use, visually appealing, fast, accessible, and personalized, leading to improved user satisfaction. Originality/value these applications needs graphic analysis in terms of aesthetics and the compatibility of the interface with the design identity and its uses. This study is a serious contribution to develop the skills and experiences of designers in the graphic design field.

This paper examines the link between digitalization and women's empowerment in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region using panel data from 21 countries between 1992 and 2019. The study employs the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) technique to analyze the impact of information and communication technology (ICT), specifically mobile phone subscriptions and internet use, on women's empowerment as measured by the female labour force participation rate. The findings show that mobile phone subscriptions have a positive and significant short-term effect but become insignificant in the long run. In contrast, internet use does not show significant impacts in either the short or long term. However, when considering the interaction term, mobile phone subscriptions have a positive and significant impact on women's empowerment in the long run, although the interaction term itself is negatively significant in the long run. Internet use remains insignificant in both the short and long term, but the interaction term displays a positive and significant relationship with women's empowerment in the long run. These results suggest that laws and regulations supporting women's rights enhance the effectiveness of digitalization, particularly internet use, in promoting women's empowerment. In conclusion, this study deepens our understanding of the relationship between digitalization and women's empowerment in the MENA region. By considering ICT variables and the moderating role of women-supportive laws, the research underscores the importance of mobile phone subscriptions for long-term women's empowerment and highlights the positive influence of legal frameworks in facilitating the impact of digitalization, especially internet use, on women's empowerment.

CRM is a crucial tool for enhancing customer service and loyalty. It helps in understanding customer needs, increasing customer acquisition rates, increasing order value, and extending the customer life cycle. This research aims to explore the factors influencing CRM's impact on service quality in the mobile service provider industry. A comprehensive literature review and survey of 270 Egyptian mobile service providers focused on efficiency, interpersonal interaction, and communication. Multiple regressions and correlation analysis were used to test the concept. The study discovered a connection between service quality and all independent factors, including communication, interpersonal interaction, and efficiency. This study highlights the importance of CRM in improving customer satisfaction. The study comes to the conclusion that all independent factors- efficiency, interpersonal interaction, and communication- have a strong correlation with service quality which is the dependent variable.

Using some Smart Phone Applications Guided by Connectivist Learning Theory for Developing Secondary School Students' Written Translation Skills and English Language Proficiency
2023
The current study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of using some smart phone applications guided by connectivist learning theory for developing secondary school students' written translation skills and English language proficiency. Instruments of the study included written translation pre-post test, the new teaching method, open interview with some teachers, English language proficiency scale. The present study adopted the quasi- experimental research design. Findings of the study were favorably and encouraging as they indicated that the new teaching method had a significant effect on students' scores on the written translation test. Results also indicated that the students' means of scores on the post- test of written translation skills were higher than the means of the scores on the pre- test. It is recommended that training students on using some smart phone applications guided by connectivist learning theory should take place over a longer period of time. This research study could be used for teaching other skills of English language (e.g. listening, speaking and reading and writing). This research study needs to be replicated and pervaded with larger and more various samples to know how far written translation skills and sub-skills can be developed by using some smart phone applications in the field of English language learning.

This study, conducted in Saudi Arabia, delves into understanding the factors influencing behavioral intention and use behavior to adopt m-payment in Saudi Arabia, particularly focusing on the role of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, grievance redressal, mobile skillfulness, and personal innovation. The primary objective is to ascertain how these factors interact and affect behavioral intentions and actual use behavior in the Saudi context. Employing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the study analyzed responses from a diverse demographic sample, applying SPSS and Smart PLS algorithm for factor analysis. Key findings indicate that performance expectancy, social influence, and grievance redressal significantly. impact both behavioral intention and actual use behavior. Contrary to expectations, effort expectancy and facilitating conditions did not show a significant effect on behavioral intention. The study also highlights the importance of personal innovation and mobile skillfulness in shaping user behavior. The novelty of this research lies in its contextual focus on Saudi Arabia, providing new insights into the interplay of technological, social, and personal factors in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. This contributes to a deeper understanding of technology adoption and usage patterns in the Middle Eastern context, which has been relatively underexplored in existing literature.
