Fragmentation and connexion are prevalent themes in this paper. It is from this basis that this research attempts at providing an in-depth analysis of the selected Haitian short story cycle of Edwidge Danticat's The Dew Breaker (2004). In this respect, the reader will figure out the way characters deal with sequels of alienation and attempts to belonging, since the diasporic divide and the awareness of being alienated are major effects of migration and migrated people. From this standpoint, the research argues for a closer look at the narrative form that sheds light on people's migration away from trauma of being killed, as in the case of the short story cycle. In bringing this vision into fruition, how can an alienated identity manage to belong in a new society? Could one's identity remain steady while seeking refuge? Does this divide cause rifts over the self ? The point is that the selected short stories from the novel are testimonies of Diaspora, thus, the analysis falls onto the untold upheavals that sway one's identity in the journey of mourning and healing. As the title of the research paper suggests, and being faithful to the scope of postcolonialism, circumstances of marginalization are dealt with through characters, and investigating themes of alienation, belonging, nostalgia and Diaspora which connote the connection and disconnection between land and characters.

This article presents a new paradigm called the Third Human Dimension/THD and a set of new related concepts for the promotion of Cultural Sociology. In its American version, Cultural sociology focuses on how meaning shapes social life. As to the THD, it studies in- depth the nature of the human symbols/HS: the spoken and written language, thought, religion, knowledge/science, laws, myths, cultural values and norms. The THD is viewed as very central in the human identity. Thus, Its impact on human behaviour is expected to be strong and global. This essay discusses the concepts of culture and society as strong influential factors on human behaviours in social sciences since Ibn Khaldun's time. The author argues that the THD paradigm is strongly supported by the Islamic/Naql perspective. Finally, this article introduces to social sciences the new concept of cultural socialization replacing the simple term of socialization

يسعى هذا البحث الموسوم بــ \"الهوية الإنسانية في أدب الطفل العربي\"، للنظر في منحى ترسيخ مفهوم الهوية الإنسانية المشتركة وتجلياته في أدب الكاتبة ناهد الشوا. يتأثر الطفل بالقصص التي يسمعها ويقرأها بما لها من وقع مباشر على وجدانه وتفكيره، يتفاعل معها كمتلق نشط وفاعل له رد فعله الخاص والحر تجاه ما يسمعه ويراه، فدورها عظيم في غرس كثير من الفضائل التي يحملها مدى الحياة، وكلما تضمنت القصص شخصيات وأحداث ورسائل ذات مغزى وذات علاقة به وكانت موضع اهتمام للطفل قادته للتحليق بأفاق تخلق له هوية متوازنة تنطوي في جوهرها على التصالح مع الذات وقبول الآخر وتعزز الانتماء لمجتمعه والتعاطف مع المحيط العام والأوسع. اهتمت ناهد الشوا في أدبها عموما بتعزيز القيم عند الطفل العربي، وموضوع البحث هذا يتناول مسألة مفهوم الهوية والانتماء اللذين يتحققان بربطهما بقيم أخرى كالعدل والمساواة والاندماج والحرية فتتمازج وتتناغم كي تحقق الرسوخ والعمق الإنساني في تحقيق الهوية الذاتية والمجتمعية والانتماء بمستوياته المختلفة. لذا، فإن هذا البحث يسلط الضوء على أهمية الانتصار للهوية والانتماء ودورهما في بناء شخصية الطفل كي تكون صلبة تمايز بين عناصر منظومة القيم المتنوعة فتشكل شخصية إنسانية عالمية.

This article studies Mark Romanek's film adaptation Never Let me go (2010) to analyze the humans' exercised control and the clones' reactionary intentional creation from semiotic and hermeneutic approaches. This cinematic work is based on the Nobel Prize winner Kazuo Ishigor's dystopian novel. The study uses semiotics in analyzing the film's cinematography to show the clones characters' preservation of their human identity despite the exercised control. Concerning hermeneutics, it is employed in interpreting the characters` dialogues by analyzing the used language that reveals the underlying themes. The research contributes in showing the challenge of preserving the human identity in a globalized world that is massively influenced by the constant change generated by technological development.
