America Withdraws from Afghanistan & Taliban Returns to Rule
This report is about the final days of the American troop withdrawal from Afghanistan after 20 years of military intervention. It deals with US President Joe Biden's action plan to apply the agreement between the previous administration and the Taliban. He announced the reasons behind his decision to implement the deal. He stressed that the US doesn't have a clear purpose for longer being in Afghanistan. Therefore, the military as such occupation should have an end. He came to believe that this must be done even if the Taliban came to power, as many speculated. The report also focuses on the concerted effort made by American troops to get their civilians and other foreign nationals out of the country. The evacuation was timed with the allocation for final troops' withdrawal and ending the American occupation of Afghanistan. Finally, the report examines the mass reaction to the pull-out action created by American Congressmen and the Europeans. Both thought America was acting too hastily. But they hadn't considered the enormous costs and expenditure - into the trillions of dollars - Washington invested in the conflict over the past 20 years without defeating the Taliban.
