تأثير المتغيرات الداخلية والخارجية على مستوى الأداء : (دراسة تطبيقية على القطاع الفندقي)
يهدف الكتاب إلى تقييم تأثير المتغيرات الداخلية والخارجية من خلال ما يتم تطبيقه من نماذج وأساليب فعالة متطورة على مستوى أداء الفنادق، وبما يحقق الأهداف الفرعية التالية : تحديد درجة ممارسة الإدارة العليا بالفنادق لمكونات الإدارة الاستراتيجية بصفة عامة، والتحليل الاستراتيجي لمتغيرات البيئة الداخلية والخارجية بصفة خاصة، ورصد عناصر القوة والضعف والفرص والتحديات الناجمة عنها على مستوى أداء الفنادق. كما أنه يهدف أيضا إلى بناء إطار واقعي مقترح يساعد مسئولي الفنادق المصرية على تحليل المتغيرات البيئية وترصد اتجاهاتها وتشخيص تأثيرها على مستوى الأداء باستخدام نماذج وأساليب متطورة وفعالة وتحديد استراتيجيات ومداخل ومحاور العمل الرئيسية لتحسين مستوى الأداء.
Studying the Effectiveness of Government Approaches to Incidents and Crisis in the Egyptian Hospitality Sector
The research investigates the crisis and incident management strategies employed by the Ministry of Tourism to address challenges including food poisoning, harassment, drowning, terrorism, and the impacts of COVID-19. Using a quantitative approach, the study assesses the effectiveness of these procedures and identifies areas for improvement to enhance resilience, aiming to boost Egypt's tourism management practices and create a globally competitive sector. Targeting tourism specialists at various job levels within the Ministry of Tourism with judicial control status in key regions (Cairo, Alexandria, South Sinai, Red Sea, Luxor, and Aswan) , the study achieved a 100% response rate from 54 participants via a Google Form in October 2023. Findings showed neutrality regarding the ministry's effectiveness in preventing trained hotel workforce leakage and mixed opinions on the protection of hotel staff rights during COVID-19. However, there was strong agreement on hotels' compliance with COVID-19 precautionary measures and a general consensus that the ministry effectively limits incidents like drowning and food poisoning. Mixed views were noted on the ministry's proactive crisis planning. The research underscores the pivotal role of the Ministry of Tourism and emphasizes the necessity for clear policies aimed at safeguarding hotel staff rights during crises, alongside the provision of ongoing training to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Additionally, the study advocates for the development of a tailored crisis management plan for the hospitality sector. There is also a pressing need to enhance preventive measures against safety issues, conduct a comprehensive evaluation of past management strategies, and establish a robust crisis management framework. Finally, implementing a strong crisis communication strategy is essential for rebuilding traveler confidence in the wake of declines in demand and occupancy rates.
The Effect of Applying Technology at the Guest Room on the Guest's Choice of the Hotel
There has recently been a call for revisiting the effect of technology on guest experience in hotels. Technology has been gradually and usually applied to the hospitality industry. Hence, the present study identifies the effects of the agreement of the guest room technology adoption the perspective of hotel guests on their choice of the hotel. A questionnaire survey was adopted to collect data from guests in the four and five stars hotels in Luxor and Aswan governorates to investigate the impacts of individual-level importance on the technology acceptance in guests' room. This study aims to investigate the special effects of advanced technology in the hotels' room on guest loyalty. This study observed in-room technologies and identified the ones realized to be mission critical for the hotel guests. It also determined the differences in guest empowerment technology preferences and expectations across generations and travel frequency. Moreover, it investigated whether the quality of in-room technologies impressions guests' decision in choosing a hotel. The data were collected through personal meetings with the guests, hotels, as well as Google drive, hotels mails, and social media. (500) questionnaires were distributed, only (428) samples were correctly ready to be analyzed. Important finding of this study was that a plurality of respondents informed that the availability of new guest-room technologies would favorably impact their decision to choose a hotel.

Impact of Supportive Work Environment on Employees Intention to Stay in Hotels
This study aims to investigate the impact of predictors of the supportive work environment (organizational support, supervisor support, and job satisfaction) on employees' intention to stay in their current jobs. The current study depended on one data collection (questionnaire forms). Data were collected from 20 five-star hotels in Greater Cairo in Egypt. A total of 363 questionnaires were valid for the final data analysis. Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS) software program was used to test the study hypotheses. The findings of the study show that supervisor support has a positive and significant relationship with employees' intention to stay in their current jobs. The results of the study also reveal job satisfaction has a positive and significant relationship with employees' intention to stay in their current jobs. However, there is no significant relationship found between organizational support and employees' intention to stay in their current jobs. The study proves that job satisfaction has the strongest impact on employees' intention to stay in their current jobs. The findings highlight several implications for hotel management and cover a gap in previous research studies by investigating the supportive work environment in Egyptian hotels.
Evaluating Innovation Activities in Hotels Using Importance Performance Analysis
Despite the importance of hotel service innovation in the hospitality industry, literature revealed a gap relevant to the lack of studies interested in this field. Thus, the current study aims to shed the light on the importance and perception guest of hotel service innovation using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). The study employed a self-administered questionnaire that comprised 79 items including questions about Innovative hotel types, customization of service, use of information technology, process innovation, marketing-focused innovation, brand differentiation, pricing innovation, and guest's perceived value. A total of 280 questionnaires were randomly distributed to a sample of guests who stayed in the hotels were surveyed. Among the questionnaires returned, 220 were useable ones, representing a response rate of 78.6 %. The variance analysis tests were used to identify the presence of significant differences among the guests related to the importance and perception of hotel service innovation and perceived value. In addition, importance-performance analysis was conducted using SPSS. The IPA showed that hotels need better preparation in the points of \"the hotel offers special price,\" and \"the hotel provides organic food\".
دور بعض الخصائص العامة لدي العاملين بقطاع الضيافة في تنمية القدرات الإدارية
يهدف البحث لدراسة بعض الخصائص التي تؤثر في القدرات الإدارية لدى العاملين ببعض فنادق مدينة الإسكندرية. ثم تجميع البيانات من خلال عينة عشوائية قوامها 225 عامل في فنادق الخمس نجوم بمدينة الإسكندرية باستخدام استمارة استقصاء بالمقابلة الشخصية ولعرض ومناقشة النتائج استخدمت بعض الأساليب الإحصائية وأظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة ارتباطية طردية معنوية بين مستوى القدرات الإدارية وكل من عدد سنوات العمل والمستوى التعليمي عند مستوى معنوية 0.05.
