Methodology for Teaching Information Literacy Instruction by Academic Librarians in Federal Colleges of Education in North-West Geo-Political Zone of Nigeria
This study investigated methods employed by academic librarians for teaching information literacy instruction in Federal Colleges of Education in the North-West Geo-Political Zone of Nigeria. Quantitative research methodology and cross-sectional survey research method were adopted using the total enumeration sampling technique, as the entire population served as the sample and was given closed-ended questionnaires. A self-developed closed ended questionnaire of Association of College and Research Libraries (2015) Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education Standards and Julien et al. (2018, College & Research Libraries, 79(2), 179-200) Survey of Information Literacy Instruction Practices in U.S. Academic Libraries was used to collect data from the respondents who engage in teaching responsibilities. Data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics of frequency distribution tables, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings revealed that traditional Lecture Instruction in Subject Classes and Curriculum Course Modules were the main methods employed for teaching information Literacy Instruction in the Federal Colleges of Education in the North-West Geo-Political Zone of Nigeria. Based on the findings from the study, it recommends the need for academic librarians to employ individualized instruction (one-on-one) and hands-on instruction, teaching practicum as a methodology for teaching information literacy for the development of critical thinking skills among information users.

Information Literacy, Social Media and Academic Achievement at Higher Education
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of social media usage on information literacy skills and on the academic achievement of second year Master students of English at Frères Mentouri Constantine 1 University. It aims at examining the relationship between students' information literacy competencies and their use of social media. It also attempts to find appropriate methods to measure the study variables: social media usage, information literacy skills and academic achievement. Two questionnaires are used as research tools: one administered to a random sample of 78 students and another one to 16 of their research supervisors. The analysis of the data partly confirms our hypotheses that social media usage would not guarantee the acquisition of the necessary information literacy skills, and that improvement in information literacy performance would enhance students' academic achievement.

محو الأمية المعلوماتية بالمدارس في القرن الحادي والعشرين
يقدم المؤلفون للقارئ عصارة خبراتهم العميقة في العمل بالمدارس الثانوية بإستخدام برنامج \"محو الأمية هذا الكتاب، المعلوماتية\" وقد بدؤوا بتقديم نموذج تعليمي عام يتسم بالفعالية، وبخاصة في دعم مثل هذا النمط من التعليم. وبعد ذلك، شرعوا في عرض طرق التدريس الخاصة بمهارات النسخة الثانية من البرنامج، التي تتعلق بإكتساب المعلومات وإنتاجها وإشراك الآخرين فيها. وتتضمن هذه المهارات إستخدام محركات البحث بكفاءة، وتقييم المعلومات التي يجدونها على المواقع الإلكترونية المختلفة، وتجنب الاقتباس، والتواصل مع قاعدة عريضة من الجماهير، والعمل بروح الفريق، وإنتاج مخرجات متعددة.

مدى توفر الوعي المعلوماتي لدى الطالبة المعلمة بكلية التربية للطفولة المبكرة والاتجاه في ضوء نموذج Big6 والتنمية المهنية المستدامة
سعت الدراسة الحالية إلى التعرف على مدى توفر مهارات الوعي المعلوماتي لدى الطالبة المعلمة بكلية التربية للطفولة المبكرة والاتجاه نحوه في ضوء نموذج Big6 والتنمية المهنية المستدامة، وإعداد طلاب قادرين على الأخذ بالتقنيات والتطورات الحديثة من أجل التنمية المهنية المستدامة، وتم استخدام المنهج الوصفي لتحديد مهارات الوعي المعلوماتي في ضوء نموذج Big6، وأجريت الدراسة على (٦٢) طالبة معلمة بكلية التربية للطفولة المبكرة جامعة مطروح، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة أنه لا بد من إكساب الطالبات مهارات تمكنهن من تحديد احتياجاتهن من المعلومات، ومن ثم قدرتهن على الوصول إليها عندما يحتاجونها، وكذلك تنمية قدرتهن على التعامل مع التقنيات الحديثة، وكيفية الوصول للمعلومات عبر شبكة الإنترنت، وأيضا تنمية قدرة الطالبات على تحليل واستخدام المعلومات في أبحاثهن العلمية، وذلك فور التحاقهن بالمرحلة الجامعية وخاصة في السنوات الأولى، مما يؤهلهن لتطوير أدائهم في العمل لاحقا، وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة دمج مهارات الوعي المعلوماتي في مقررات إعداد الطالبات بكليات التربية للطفولة المبكرة، وعقد دورات تدريبية لتنمية الوعي المعلوماتي لدي الطالبات مما يساعدهن على عملهن أثناء المرحلة الجامعية والتنمية المهنية في المستقبل.

هدف البحث الحالي إلى التعرف على الإطار الفلسفي والمفاهيمي للتربية المعلوماتية وعلاقة ذلك بالتعليم الجامعي بشكل عام، والتعليم الجامعي المصري بشكل خاص؛ من أجل الوقوف على أهم الأدوار ذات الارتباط بالتربية المعلوماتية المسئولة عن تحقيق كفايات مجتمع المعرفة، وتم استخدام المنهج الوصفي لمناسبة موضوع البحث من خلال مراجعة الأدبيات والدراسات المرتبطة بالتربية المعلوماتية من خلال التطرق لمفهومها وفلسفتها وعلاقتها بالتعليم الجامعي ومبررات الأخذ بها؛ وأهم أدوارها في تحقيق كفايات مجتمع المعرفة؛ وتم استخدام الاستبانة كأداة للبحث مشتملة على أهم أدوار التربية المعلوماتية في التعليم الجامعي المصري التي من شأنها تحقيق كفايات مجتمع المعرفة، وكان من أهم النتائج التي توصل إليها البحث هي تقديم نموذج وقائمة بأهم الأدوار التي تؤدي إلى تحقيق كفايات مجتمع المعرفة من وجهة نظر التربية المعلوماتية من خلال توظيفها في التعليم الجامعي المصري.

Architects information Literacy War kshop : A Case Study
This paper reports a case study in which an information literacy program was designed for use at the College of Architecture, Kuwait University. The aim of the program was to use games to teach research skills to undergraduate students. The program was a workshop that was conducted to determine whether research skills can be improved by conducting similar information literacy programs that use games. The game was called Architects Research Detectives, and it proved to be an effective method for teaching research skills in which both students and library staff enjoyed participating. Formative and summative surveys showed that almost all students who attended the workshop did not know how to use Google Scholar until they participated in the activity. The results showed that the majority of freshman students who participated in the workshop found it useful and that these students would like to have similar workshops conducted on a larger scale during the course of their undergraduate education.
