Eddy & Me—One Big Splash
I was meeting him for the first time. I was nervous ‐ he was a big deal ‐ represented life itself. Moisture formed on the palms of my hands, beads of water appeared on my forehead, and suddenly I had cottonmouth ‐ I could use a glass of water … but would that be insulting? It was a couple of weeks before ACE15 and AWWA's newest member and mascot, Eddy, was in town. I was going to sit down with him and get to know him better. Then I thought to myself, what about the furniture? Should I put a towel down to protect it? Maybe some plastic? Then he flowed in ‐ calm and confident, with a cool, ice‐like demeanor, kind of like he covered 70% of the world. He put me at ease right away and we sat down to begin the interview.

In the section, “2017 AWWA Awards” in the September 2017 issue of Journal AWWA (Vol. 109, No. 9, p.26), one of the Honorary Member Award recipients was inadvertently left off of the listing. Nancy McTigue was a recipient of this award. Journal AWWA regrets the error.
