Practical Aviation & Aerospace Law Workbook
This supporting workbook is designed to be used with the Practical Aviation & Aerospace Law textbook to provide a comprehensive instructional package for undergraduate and graduate aviation law courses offered to students preparing for aviation careers. It aids in application of legal principles set forth in the textbook to the kinds of decisions students will make in the real world of aviation as managers, pilots, mechanics, aircraft owners, air traffic controllers, air safety investigators, and others involved in aviation as a profession or hobby. The updated and expanded Sixth Edition reflects statutory and regulatory changes, international treaty law, and includes law topics surrounding the burgeoning fields of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and commercial spaceflight. With a concise format that mimics the textbook, this combination workbook/study guide breaks down a complex field of law into understandable examples and problems to solve — ultimately helping readers retain the learned concepts. Many of the workbook questions are based on real dilemmas faced by the author's clients during his more than 30 years experience. Others are the product of a fertile imagination…yet they give aviation law students an idea of what can happen in real industry situations. This Practical Aviation & Aerospace Law Workbook enhances the value of the textbook, serving as an excellent supporting teaching tool — taken together, the two complement each other perfectly in the classroom.
Legal priorities in air transport
Against the backdrop of enormous technological strides, this book argues that the air transport industry must be constantly vigilant in its efforts to employ a legal regime that is applicable to the aeronautical and human aspects of the carriage by air of persons and goods. In this regard, safety and security are of the utmost importance, both in terms of safe air navigation and the preservation of human life. Although the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) addresses legal issues through its Legal Committee, many emerging issues that urgently require attention lie outside the Committees purview. This book analyzes in detail the items being considered by ICAOs Legal Committee, considers the legal nature of ICAO, and discusses whether or not ICAOs scope should be extended. Since the limited issues currently addressed by ICAO do not reflect the rapidly changing realities of air transport, the book also covers a broad range of key issues outside the parameters set by ICAO, such as: the need to teach air law to a new generation of aviation professionals; combating cyber-crime and cyber-terrorism; the regulation of artificial intelligence; traveller identification; interference with air navigation; human trafficking; unruly passengers; climate change; air carrier liability for passenger death or injury; Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (drones); and the cabin crew and their legal implications.

From Lowlands to High Skies – A Multilevel Jurisdictional Approach towards Air Law
This volume brings together a fascinating collection of essays on air law, approached from national, European and international perspectives. These perspectives often interact, always interestingly, but not necessarily harmoniously, a theme which forms a Leitmotiv in the writings, reports and pleadings of John Balfour, to whom the volume is dedicated. Written by a diverse group of experts in the field of air law, the collection is divided into three parts: Public Air Law, EU Air Law and Private Air Law.
