2016
A prolific author, Isaac Asimov is most admired for his science fiction, including his collection of short stories I, Robot and his Robot, Empire and Foundation series novels. While each of these narratives takes place in a different fictional universe, Asimov asserted at the end of his career that he had, with his last Robot and Foundation novels, unified them into one coherent metaseries. This reference work identifies and describes all of the characters, locales, artifacts, concepts and institutions in Asimov's metaseries. Mimicking the style of The Encyclopedia Galactica, the fictional compendium of all human knowledge that features prominently in the Foundation series, this encyclopedia is an invaluable companion to Asimov's science fiction oeuvre.

Disrupting the Nascent Paradigm of Urban Automobility in H. G. Wells's The Sleeper Awakes
2024
Despite the gloomy nature of H. G. Wells's The Sleeper Awakes, this essay argues that adjacent to the novel's dystopian displays of oppressive social stratification and technologies of thought-control readers encounter utopian images, too. More specifically, this article argues that Wells provides in this novel an early and important vision of a sprawling megacity that has adopted more utopian forms of mobility and transportation, forms that have allowed it to flourish without embracing automobility. In place of motor cars, people in The Sleeper Awakes traverse the space of the city by means of an intraurban transit system that the novel shows to be more egalitarian and collectivist, as well as less polluting, than the automobiles that were emerging at that time.

Searching for Early Psychohistory Studies and Usages of the Word Psychohistory
The distinguished Luther scholar, Preserved Smith (18801941) published Luther's Table Talk: A Critical Study (1907) and \"Luther's Early Development in the Light of Psycho-analysis\" in the American Journal of Psychology (1913). Late in his life, Clark commonly used the term \"psychohistory\" and wrote on Alexander the Great, Lincoln, and Napoleon, focusing on narcissism but without much psychobiographical depth. Since I knew of no one else writing on these colleagues, I wrote a short article on each, crediting Elizabeth, who had died in 2005, as a co-author.6 Although my interest in the early uses of the term psychohistory never flagged, other activities absorbed my time. [...]I invited my Finnish colleague Professor Juhani Ihanus to join this project: he right- fully deserves credit for finding the word psycho-historical in 1810 and his erudite discussion of the issues involved.

Notes on the Early Uses of the Words \Psychohistory\ and \Psychological History\
2025
Comparative conceptual history needs further primary source documentation and analysis to enhance the critical evaluation of the historical vicissitudes of psychohistory, its research methods, and interdisciplinary perspectives. Comparative conceptual history in different languages needs further primary source documentation and analysis to enhance the critical evaluation of the historical vicissitudes of psychohistory, its research methods, and interdisciplinary perspectives. In his earlier work Empirische Psychologie [Empirical Psychology], Schmid (1796) mentions Medicinische Psychologie [Medical Psychology] and defines it as determining-for example, by dream interpretation and based on the influence of the soul on the bodily illnesses and vice versa-the assessment and hints of the treatment of the sick. By relying on kinetic gas theory, Asimov speculated that it was possible, through large statistical samples, to find the exact laws of human behavior and the movements of gas, even though individual human beings and individual molecules behave randomly.
