Background
A bibliometric review of the biomedical literature could be essential in synthesizing evidence if thoroughly conducted and documented. Although very similar to review papers in nature, it slightly differs in synthesizing the data when it comes to providing a pile of evidence from different studies into a single document. This paper provides a preliminary guideline for reporting bibliometric reviews of the biomedical literature (BIBLIO).
Methods
The BIBLIO was developed through two major processes: literature review and the consensus process. The BIBLIO started with a comprehensive review of publications on the conduct and reporting of bibliometric studies. The databases searched included PubMed, Scopus, Web of Sciences, and Cochrane Library. The process followed the general recommendations of the EQUATOR Network on how to develop a reporting guideline, of which one fundamental part is a consensus process. A panel of experts was invited to identify additional items and was asked to choose preferred options or suggest another item that should be included in the checklist. Finally, the checklist was completed based on the comments and responses of the panel members in four rounds.
Results
The BIBLIO includes 20 items as follows: title (2 items), abstract (1 item), introduction/background (2 items), methods (7 items), results (4 items), discussion (4 items). These should be described as a minimum requirements in reporting a bibliometric review.
Conclusions
The BIBLIO for the first time provides a preliminary guideline of its own kind. It is hoped that it could contribute to the transparent reporting of bibliometric reviews. The quality and utility of BIBILO remain to be investigated further.

2021
This study investigates how wireless sensor network (WSN) applications in agriculture are discussed in the current academic literature. On the basis of bibliometric techniques, 2444 publications were extracted from the Scopus database and analyzed to identify the temporal distribution of WSN research, the most productive journals, the most cited authors, the most influential studies, and the most relevant keywords. The computer program VOSviewer was used to generate the keyword co-occurrence network and partition the pertinent literature. Findings show the remarkable growth of WSN research in recent years. The most relevant journals, cited countries, and influential studies were also identified. The main results from the keyword co-occurrence clustering and the detailed analysis illustrate that WSN is a key enabler for precision agriculture. WSN research also focuses on the role of other technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and unmanned aerial vehicles in supporting several agriculture activities, including smart irrigation and soil management. This study illuminates researchers’ and practitioners’ views of what has been researched and identifies possible opportunities for future studies. To the authors’ best knowledge, this bibliometric study represents the first attempt to map global WSN research using a comprehensive sample of documents published over nearly three decades.

The Management International Review (MIR) celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2020. In commemoration of this event, we use a bibliometric analysis to present a retrospective on the journal by analyzing its content for the years between 2006 and 2020. We find that the collaboration culture in MIR has risen over time with the increase in the median size of author teams. Moreover, the collaboration network has become more global over time. The methodology used in the journal is predominantly empirical and quantitative with archival data sources most commonly used. The bibliographic coupling of the MIR corpus reveals that the major themes in the journal revolve around \"culture,\" \"emerging economies,\" \"innovation, knowledge transfer, and absorptive capacity,\" \"internationalization process,\" \"culture and entry modes,\" and \"internationalization and performance.\" A comparison with other leading international business journals provides distinct pathways in which MIR may continue to grow. Finally, it is important to note that while the share of conceptual studies has decreased significantly in the last 15 years, the MIR editors want to see more novel and theoretically grounded conceptual articles in the journal.

This paper introduces Biblio-US17, a labeled dataset collected over 6 months from the log files of a popular public website at the University of Seville. It contains 47 million records, each including the method, uniform resource identifier (URI) and associated response code and size of every request received by the web server. Records have been classified as either normal or attack using a comprehensive semi-automated process, which involved signature-based detection, assisted inspection of URIs vocabulary, and substantial expert manual supervision. Unlike comparable datasets, this one offers a genuine real-world perspective on the normal operation of an active website, along with an unbiased proportion of actual attacks (i.e., non-synthetic). This makes it ideal for evaluating and comparing anomaly-based approaches in a realistic environment. Its extensive size and duration also make it valuable for addressing challenges like data shift and insufficient training. This paper describes the collection and labeling processes, dataset structure, and most relevant properties. We also include an example of an application for assessing the performance of a simple anomaly detector. Biblio-US17, now available to the scientific community, can also be used to model the URIs used by current web servers.

Research examining emerging economy inward and outward foreign direct investment (FDI) flows is on a significant upward trajectory. In this bibliometric analysis covering 806 articles published between 1994 and 2019, we map key aspects of its contours. Our analysis proceeds in two sequential phases involving a performance analysis, followed by a thematic analysis. Our performance analysis unveils fundamental elements of the structure of the knowledge base. Our subsequent thematic analysis identifies three focal topics arising from identifiable shared qualities characterizing this literature. Firstly, we distinguish scholarship focused on inward FDI into emerging economies formed by two particular classes, namely 'innovative FDI' and 'capital flows'. Our second theme covers outward FDI from these emerging economies and also comprises two specific classes referring to the 'institutional environment' and the 'theoretical framework deployed'. Our final theme relates to an integrated body of knowledge explicating aspects of the location choice decision. Building on this analysis, we isolate a number of opportunities for future research.

Objective. This study employed bibliometric analysis to identify the most relevant journals in telework research and utilized journal co-citation analysis to map the intellectual foundation of this field of study. Design/Methodology/Approach. To conduct this study, we used data from Scopus, employed the cluster modularity technique to identify journal communities, gathered centrality measures to pinpoint essential journals, and chose to rank the journals based on relevance. We combined two key measures to achieve this: the number of citations received and closeness centrality within the co-citation network. Results/Discussion. Seven communities of journals were identified, encompassing the following subject areas: organizational psychology and management, technology and information systems, occupational health and psychological well-being, sustainability and the environment, education and skills development, economics and public policy, and sociology and cultural studies. Some of the most relevant journals included the Journal of Applied Psychology; the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health; Sustainability, the Journal of Organizational Behavior; the Journal of Vocational Behavior; New Technology, Work and Employment; Frontiers in Psychology; Human Relations; the Academy of Management Journal; and the Academy of Management Review. Conclusions. The co-citation analysis revealed that the disciplinary structure of teleworking is underpinned by a network of influential journals covering different areas of knowledge. The most relevant publications form seven major thematic clusters, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of teleworking research.

Biomaterial-driven regenerative drug delivery: a vicennial bibliometric landscape
2025
Biomaterials are increasingly central to innovations in drug delivery and regenerative medicine, driving new therapeutic strategies for chronic diseases and tissue repair. Despite rapid growth, a comprehensive, data-driven overview of this evolving interdisciplinary landscape has been lacking.
Here, we present a bibliometric analysis of articles and reviews published in the Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science Core Collection) from January 2005 to December 2024.
The findings present a bibliometric visualization that highlights key trends in publication volume, geographical distribution of research, leading institutions, top journals, research categories, and emerging keywords. Cross-disciplinary integration of biomaterials, regenerative medicine, and drug delivery is accelerating advances in stem cell-based therapies, tissue engineering, and precision drug delivery platforms. Promising frontiers include personalized medicine, organoids, organ-on-chip technologies, and digital modelling of cellular systems. However, significant challenges remain in scalability, safety, and regulatory translation. This work provides a comprehensive reference for navigating current trends and identifying future opportunities in biomaterial-driven regenerative drug delivery.

Research Hotspots and Development Trends on Recycled Construction Materials in Pavement Engineering: A Bibliometric Evaluation
2021
Road recycling technology is gradually becoming a research focus in road construction due to natural resource shortages. It is therefore necessary to carry out deep and extensive analysis of the huge amount of publications in the research area of recycling technology in road construction. Based on three databases (Web of Science, Compendex and Scopus) and VOSviewer visualization software, this study conducts a bibliometric analysis of the literature in the field of recycled construction materials in pavement engineering. The global research publications were reviewed to quantitatively identify the literature characteristics. A number of publications, document types, research areas and keywords were used to achieve the general statistics of this reviewed literature. H-index, publication number and citations per publication were used to evaluate the academic contributions by country, institution and journal. The results show that the most productive country and institution for publications are the USA and Chang’an University from China, respectively, followed by China and Wuhan University of Technology. In recent years, researchers have generally paid attention to two main approaches: the application of rubber modified asphalt and the performance enhancement of recycled pavement.

A Review of International Management Research on Corporate Taxation
2022
Since international economic liberalization over the past decades has increased the scope for corporate tax arbitrage and such arbitrage has been increasingly scrutinized, taxes have become a more important managerial issue in multinational enterprises (MNEs) and thus a topic of interest for international management (IM) studies. We provide an exploratory overview of the main foci and findings of the resulting body of research, outline how these foci and findings compare to those of international corporate taxation studies in adjacent fields, and propose an agenda for future IM research on corporate taxation. We find that extant IM research has focused on four types of tax-related acts – i.e., income shifting, international relocations of headquarters, internationalization of operational activities, and tax evasion – and identify three important avenues for future research. These avenues concern the use of better operationalizations of corporate income tax burdens and tax havens, the further study of the effects of tax-related formal and informal institutions, and the study of tax-related corporate political activity. More generally, our review shows that, rather than being a mere financial issue, international corporate taxation has various strategic, behavioral, and political dimensions that warrant more attention from IM scholars.
