Former White House chief of staff's spouse Susan Baker faces
\"So finally I just accepted the fact that I needed to love this angry, hurting 13-year-old a lot more than I did. And so, looking at Scripture, 1 Corinthians 13, it tells us how love looks from God's perspective. 'Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrong. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, it always trusts, it always hopes, it always perseveres. Love never fails.' \" \"Each one of us has big hurts in our lives,\" she said. \"When you live, that's what happens. ... But if we don't deal with it, it's going to come back to bite us later on. \"In the Lord's Prayer, we constantly say 'forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us,' and yet, how often to do we think about what those words really mean? Many of us wish it said, 'forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who apologize to us.' \"

Senator O'Connor ready to celebrate golden anniversary
\"We're having the building come to life,\" said Tony Wagner, chair of the O'Connor House board of directors. \"It's nobody's fault. It's an old building,\" he said, adding unexpected expenses cropped up during renovations. \"To me, it's always been the relationships (that make Senator O'[Connor] special). It's really tight-knit. We treated the kids like your own kids. The idea is to turn them into people who are compassionate and caring and offer something to society. We all take great pride in the community.\"
Riverdale Share tickets on sale Nov. 12
\"We're really excited to be back,\" said Riverdale Share volunteer Executive Director Susan Baker. \"It's renovated. They have their own sound and lights - we won't have to bring as much in. It's great.\" Ironically, while there doesn't seem to be any shortage of local professional musicians willing to volunteer their support, Baker conceded she's had unexpected problems at the other end of the spectrum this year. Because of the job action between teachers and Queen's Park, she said she still hadn't been able to secure an elementary children's choir. \"And [Bill Usher] is going to perform a song that he wrote in the early days of Riverdale Share for Riverdale Share. So that will be a nice thing to have.\"
Jury seated in Baby Shannon trial
One at a time, groups of five potential jurors passed through the courtroom until about 28 people answered that they could set aside the opinions they had formed based on what they had heard from news media or gossip. That process took most of the day as many potential jurors said they could not shake what they knew about the case, and many potential jurors believed [Susan Baker] was guilty. Judge Allen Register had denied a request from Baker's attorneys to move the trial to a place where the case has received less media attention. Gerard Virga and Rachel Seaton-Virga, Baker's attorneys, have said they do not believe Baker can get a fair trial here.

\"Sometimes things that make a product last longer or work faster aren't always the best for us,\" [Garrison] said. \"We have had a huge response to the classes,\" [Susan Baker] said. \"People have gone home and used the products and told other people about them. They really seem to enjoy it.\" \"It's almost a lost art,\" Garrison said of soap making. \"Technology is awesome, but there are casualties to technology.\"
