VOICE VIEWS: Tour-bound Jake Barker releases new EP
The EP is called \"Stage Fright\" and hit iTunes last week, featuring the lead single \"Oh So Simple,\"
Barker has world at his feet
\"The world motosurf title has only been running for three years and definitely doesn't hold as much prestige as the world finals,\" he said. [Jake Barker], who fits his sport into a busy schedule studying construction management economics at UniSA, said the biggest obstacle was financial. \"I've got some great local sponsors in Read Brothers Signs and Competition Conversions but it's an expensive sport,\" he said.
Nunthorpe Athletic
[McFarlane] soon doubled his tally when his shot beat the advancing keeper low to his left to nestle in the far corner. Nunthorpe were taking control of the game, with TIBS providing very little to threaten the back line of the home side. Nunthorpe added their third when Josh Cooper headed in from a corner late in the first half. Following some great play with McFarlane, [Jake Barker] added his second of the game when he turned his man to clip the ball into the net past a stranded keeper. Nunthorpe made it double figures late on when a ball forward found Allan Bird on the edge of the TIBS area to place a great shot through a ruck of players into the bottom corner of the net.
Redcar Town
This spurred on Redcar, who started to get back into the match, and the Greatham keeper had to make some superb saves to keep the score at 1-0 at half time. Redcar continued to put Greatham under a lot of pressure. The pressure finally told when Jake Barker scored to put Redcar in the lead 2-1.
Football fan fined
Jake Barker (21), of Bottesford Avenue, Scunthorpe, was conditionally discharged for six months by North Lincolnshire magistrates.
Nunthorpe Athletic
Nunthorpe continued to pressure the [Billingham] defence and were rewarded again when [Jake Barker] found Holden wide right who collected the ball and using his pace to outstrip the defence, drove on into the area to cut the ball back across the face of goal for [Steven Wright] to tap in at the far post to complete his hat-trick. With a constant threat being created by Nunthorpe's movement and pace from all areas it was not long before the home side racked up another goal. More goals were to follow as Nunthorpe piled on the pressure. Barker capitalised on a fantastic through ball, by McGurk, to nip into the area and round the advancing keeper to slip the ball into the empty net. Barker was again involved in Nunthorpe's next goal, completing his hat-trick from a Holden cross into the area which allowed him to control the ball and smash home past the stranded Town keeper.
Too many pregnancies are ending in tragedy
New NHS figures show that last year there were a total of 46 stillbirths in the Lothians and 292 across Scotland. It is thought that around a third of all stillbirths happen after 37 weeks of pregnancy. Prof [Jim Dornan] said the majority of unexpected stillbirths were because the baby was unable to grow and develop properly in the womb. Other causes include an abnormality in the supply of blood to the foetus or a lack of water around the baby in the womb. Prof Dornan said that in the 1960s and 70s labour was commonly induced in women whose babies were not born on the date they were expected. However, that resulted in high numbers of Caesarean sections and doctors now believe that it is healthier for the child to be born naturally.

Nunthorpe Athletic
It was not to be though, as a loose ball was won on the right of Nunthorpe's area allowing Banks to gain possession and slide a ball into Nunthorpe old boy Owen, who clipped the ball into the net. Into the second half and Nunthorpe tried to respond with [Charlie Rennie] coming close, but try as they might in the small confines of the pitch Nunthorpe could not get the breakthrough. A speculative effort by Dominic Joynes added further to Nunthorpe's tally when a strong run down the left saw him fire in a wicked cross that deceived the keeper and end up in the top right corner. Rennie then added to his tally capitalising on a mix up in the visitor's defence to lash in from inside the six yard box.
