The research studies describe that students utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT) widely to improve their academic performance. In the classroom, students use ICT assistive technologies via laptops and smartphones for academic and non-academic activities. The ICT tool interactions are applied to developing an effective learning environment that is used to support the student’s learning and understanding in a specific context. The utilization of ICT motivates the students to utilize the technologies in the classroom environment. The ICT training policies help resolve the fundamental issues that students come across, particularly high school students going to college. However, most students do not know enough about their major tendencies and feel lost when deciding on a major. Our study aimed to apply ICT biographical data as a tool for major selection. Based on the rationale of psychometrics and valuable evidence, some studies show that the average high school score is the best predictor of the average college score. The biographical data prediction method is the pre-university life history of students of different majors. Compiling questionnaires takes the college academic performance of students as the studying criterion and weights projects on the biographical data table to develop college students’ biographical information blank and its norm system to provide services for student’s choice of major. Various results show that biographical information blank items are diverse, and the impurity of the content may lead to low internal reliability (α coefficient is usually between 0.60 and 0.80) but a high test–retest validity coefficient (usually between 0 and 0.90). In contrast, its validity has predictive validity because it is independent of each score. Furthermore, since biographical information blanks comprise verifiable and unverifiable items, the ideal subjects answered more reliably because they were accountable for their responses. Studies show that the description of individual life history was moderately associated with the results recorded by the psychologist.

The association between health and partnership status is a growing concern within the social sciences. Some partnership situations exhibit positive effects on health, while partnership breakdowns display negative impacts. However, case studies show that these associations may change with age, due to potential sources of heterogeneity within a population. The current analysis explored this association over the adult life course (ages 30–64) of Europeans aged 50 years and older based on retrospective information on health and partnership from SHARELIFE ( N  = 23,535 after data screening). The data allowed us to control for socio-demographic covariates as well as for individual infirmity, measured by childhood health. We also considered contextual survival selection effects by comparing 13 European countries for which pre-adult mortality levels largely differed among the cohorts involved (1907–1958). Discrete-time hazard analyses examined the risk of suffering from a major episode of poor health (self-reported) in adulthood as a function of partnership history, using two approaches: a pooled model and country-specific models. The results revealed no differences between those who lived with a partner (first union) and single individuals in terms of the retrospective hazards of poor health. We hypothesize that this result stems from the cumulative effect of survival selection on individuals in advanced ages according to partnership status. The results also partially point to the plausibility of a contextual survival selection, which should be confirmed by further research based on additional health indicators.

Van Gogh used widely letters as communication medium. However, in spite of their contents value, the letters are not usually considered in social researches. Considering the personal mails importance as research sources in the information current context, we aim to analyze Van Gogh´s letters to his brother Théo, from 1888 to 1890 as biographical information source. For this analysis, we used the letters 534; 557; 558; 565; 566; 567; 568; 573; 576 as research sources (they were used as samples). Van Gogh´s personal letters to Théo are analyzed and presented as biographical information medium spread. As a methodology, we use the matter study to research the issue. The conclusion of the analysis allows us to notice that personal letters clarify Van Gogh´s life important events and circumstances that may be used in researches as biographical information source.

Medicine of the Person is an international, multi-faith exploration of the demonstrable need to integrate the scientific basis of healthcare more fully with spiritual, religious and ethical values.
