A good run for your money? ; Ski-mad Britons have a chance to invest in the last-ever development in the Chamonix valley
AS INVESTMENTS go, buying on the last site to be developed in the Chamonix valley sounds a pretty safe bet. The family chose diminutive Vallorcine over livelier Chamonix, which is 20 minutes away by car, because, he says: 'We thought it was better to be in a little old village rather than in the hustle and bustle of a bigger place.' 'There are no buildings with facilities and we plan to change that while reshaping Vallorcine.' The town may currently have few amenities, but a new ski lift running to Le Tour is already operating and Vallorcine is accessible by train via the Mont-Blanc Express from Martigny or the Chamonix valley, with free parking.
