Development of IoT-based pulse rate detection bracelet for volleyball endurance training
Introduction: The use of equipment in volleyball training, especially IoT-enabled heart rate monitoring bracelets for endurance workouts, is still limited and not fully developed, despite the significant impact this technology has on improving training outcomes. Objective: This research aims to develop an IoT-based pulse rate detection bracelet designed specifically for endurance training in volleyball. Methodology: The research utilized a R&D approach, implementing small-scale experiments at various universities, such as Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri. The participants included experts in materials and media, as well as volleyball coaches and players. A combined method strategy was employed, collecting information via interviews and surveys. The qualitative analysis was carried out according to the five phases of the ADDIE model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Quantitative analysis was conducted through expert assessments, represented as percentages, while the validity and reliability of the tools were evaluated using SPSS software. Results: The research results show the following: (1) An IoT-enabled pulse monitoring bracelet for volleyball endurance training was developed utilizing the ADDIE model, incorporating elements like an Arduino microcontroller, a BPM sensor, a battery, and an LED indicator. The bracelet features a blue body paired with a black elastic band. The viability of the bracelet was assessed by material specialists (82%), media specialists (80%), and trainers (79.78%). (3) The bracelet exhibited robust validity, attaining a coefficient of 0.954, and exceptional reliability, achieving a score of 0.945. Conclusions: the IoT-based pulse rate detection bracelet for volleyball endurance training is proven to be suitable for use.

Glass Bracelets Found in Harran Excavations (2013-2023)
Bracelets, which have an important place among the accessories or jewelry used since the Neolithic period, provide important information about the social, economic, cultural and cultural ties of the societies in their geography. Many glass bracelets from the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods were found during excavations in Anatolia. Data from the Islamic Period, especially the Middle Ages, have only begun to be shared recently. Rich findings from the Islamic Period were unearthed during the ongoing excavations in Harran, a critical settlement center in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. In addition to the impressive architectural structures and many ceramic artifacts unearthed during excavations in the city, there are glass bracelets. Although studies have been conducted on the architectural works and ceramics in Harran, glass works and glass bracelets have not been evaluated. Therefore, a preliminary evaluation of the glass bracelets recovered between 2013 and 2023 belonging to the Harran Excavations conducted under the direction of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Önal was made in this study. These works, which will be introduced to the scientific world for the first time and will contribute to research on the glass art of the Seljuk-Ayyubid Period, have been examined according to their production techniques, dimensions, color characteristics and ornamental compositions. Additionally, an attempt was made to date it by making comparisons with contemporary and similar bracelets previously unearthed. Thus, a new study has emerged that will help understand Harran specifically or the cultures it interacts with.

The Gold of the Dacians
The Dacians hoarded about 200 tons of gold and 400 tons of silver, before the Roman conquest of 105/106 AD. The exploitation of gold and silver by the Dacians is attested by the multitude of artifacts discovered in the territory inhabited by them. The work presents the most important treasures of gold and silver of the Dacians, but also the evaluation of the spoils of war taken by the Romans after the defeat of the Dacians.
Wearable Emotion Recognition Using Heart Rate Data from a Smart Bracelet
Emotion recognition and monitoring based on commonly used wearable devices can play an important role in psychological health monitoring and human-computer interaction. However, the existing methods cannot rely on the common smart bracelets or watches for emotion monitoring in daily life. To address this issue, our study proposes a method for emotional recognition using heart rate data from a wearable smart bracelet. A ‘neutral + target’ pair emotion stimulation experimental paradigm was presented, and a dataset of heart rate from 25 subjects was established, where neutral plus target emotion (neutral, happy, and sad) stimulation video pairs from China’s standard Emotional Video Stimuli materials (CEVS) were applied to the recruited subjects. Normalized features from the data of target emotions normalized by the baseline data of neutral mood were adopted. Emotion recognition experiment results approved the effectiveness of ‘neutral + target’ video pair simulation experimental paradigm, the baseline setting using neutral mood data, and the normalized features, as well as the classifiers of Adaboost and GBDT on this dataset. This method will promote the development of wearable consumer electronic devices for monitoring human emotional moods.
