A HOME-GROWN SUCCESS STORY Cowan, Brahim give Oldfields a new look
[Nicole Brahim], a senior from Timonium, has played for [Beth Franks] since the eighth grade, but Cowan has been at Oldfields for only two years. The junior from Homeland tried other local private schools before she found the right fit. \"Nicole actually talked me into going to Oldfields,\" said Cowan, who hopes to play on the U.S. national team. Players to watch 1993 high school girls lacrosse preview
* Michele DeJuliis, Loch Raven, Sr., attack -- The Baltimore Sun's Player of the Year last season, DeJuliis scored 90 goals and 34 assists. Also an excellent one-on-one defender, DeJuliis makes the sensational plays look easy. She was named a high school All-American by the United States Women's Lacrosse Association last spring. * Robyn Disney, Loch Raven, Sr., midfield -- Disney's best asset is her versatility. A strong attacker who scored 45 goals and 20 assists, she has the quickness to play down low and the strength and endurance to play midfield. * Shelly Klaes, Loch Raven, Sr., attack -- The Raiders' playmaker, Klaes had 91 assists last year as well as 43 goals. The calming force behind the attack, Klaes sees the field well and is excellent at settling the ball behind the crease and hitting the cutters.
